Really good fish tacos! I tried the Del Mar, mahi mahi and shrimp, grilled. Both were so good and full of flavor. Ingredients were fresh and the portion size was just right. I definitely will return here.

I am a long time fan of Changos. The food is super fresh and healthy and consistent. Jose at the counter is incredibly nice and patient. No hipster tacos. Just great food and great service without the wait… LOVEIT.

One pastor, one Del Mar and a side of queso and I am in heaven. Love the aguas frescas and the friendliness of the cook. Extra guac for the win!

Ten years ago when I lived in Austin, Changos was a place we would eat for reliably good fish tacos. Not true anymore. First of all I was served a fish taco… without lime. How can I eat a fish taco without lime? I ordered it battered and fried, and it was kinda tough. Not at all light and crispy as I had remembered. I ordered the queso too, it was O.K. Nothing to write home about. And the chips were a bit too thick and not exactly fresh tasting. Service was also lackluster. The cashier was not unpleasant, but she didn’t exactly look enthused to be there. And the place was basically empty. The cook serving up the food called my number not too loudly, and when I politely asked if it was my order, he sneered at me. The family next to me didn’t seem thrilled with their order either. Sorry, Changos. But I think you time has come and gone. I can’t recommend you anymore, and I won’t be back.

It has been years since I’ve been here. Won’t be coming back. They never made my food. 15 minutes later when I asked about it, they took their sweet time making it. Damn shame

Best pastor I’ve ever had. Out for under $ 10 with a drink. Wife had a salad, which was good, but I don’t care for lime dressings. There is also parking, so one less thing to deal with. Easily a 5 star for this category of place.

Tacos were solid, the ingredients were of noticeably higher quality than those used in similar locations. The horchata was delicious, and everything was reasonably priced. The queso is somewhat bland.

Food here is ok. I was sort of underwhelmed and had expected more. The best part, however, is that they make their own tortillas fresh when you order, which not every place can say. Tacos were decent with good amount of seasoning and the large cheese quesadilla with onions and peppers left something to be desired along with their guacamole. If you’re in the area, check it out, but I wouldn’t make this a go-to spot to eat at.

After being underwhelmed with their al pastor tacos a few months back, I came in to try something else. After a long workout, I was, oddly enough, craving shrimp tacos. Changos is on my way back from the gym so this is where I ended up. Went in(close to closing time) and I didn’t get any mean looks or attitude from the staff which is always appreciated! While I was waiting for my tacos, the cashier was even nice enough to walk outside a take a woman’s order who was on the patio with her dog — it’s the little things. My grilled shrimp tacos were very delicious. I got them on flour tortillas with all the toppings and added hot sauce for an extra kick. The shrimp was well seasoned and the tortilla was warm and fresh(even at the end of the day). I will come back for more grilled shrimp tacos and of course their agua frescas!

I had chicken enchiladas, the chicken was very undercooked. I couldn’t eat it, I told the manager about it, and he didn’t do anything, he didn’t even told the cooks about it. Everybody can have a mistake in cooking food(undercook) but it is unacceptable not to do anything about it. The food is more authentic and the aguas frescas are great, but sadly I would never go there again because of the poor management.

Do NOT get the El Pastor. I don’t know why people are getting it, but that’s not the best thing about this place. TL: DR 1. Chicken Tacos. 2. Fish Tacos. 3. Flautas. These are the best items on the menu. Obviously people are gonna compare this to Torchy’s, but honestly this place is more authentic. They make their corn tortillas fresh, and the style of Taco should not be compared to Torchy’s random ingredients.

I have absolutely no complaints about this place. The fogata salsa is a must on the del jardin taco. The lettuce is always super fresh and the sliced avocado is on point. Definitely give the frozen pomegranate sangria a whirl, it’s ultra tasty and just the right amount of boozey. I am also really into the del mar options, you can get your fish or shrimp: grilled, fried, or blackened.

I started out uncertain about this place until my boyfriend brought me with him for dinner. It was delicious! Usually I order the Bongos for Changos burrito, and my bf orders tacos. The portions are huge(for the burritos at least). Even better are their agua frescas — I always struggle to pick which flavor I want. I suggest this place to anyone looking for good, fresh Mexican good.

Wow this place is seriously excellent. I came in at 9:45. They were closing down. This is when I usually expect a «blah… Fill my belly so I can go to sleep» type of meal. I was blown away and felt compelled to write a review. This is absolutely nuts! Green salsa is amazing! Steak is tender and juicy even though I know it’s probably the last from the night. At this point I have lived in Austin long enough to consider myself a taco connoisseur. I have often written this place off as just another trendy bs place for all the Dallas yuppies. I was wrong. go there and scarf down a steak burrito. Life is good! The staff was awesome and made me feel at home even though I was obviously that guy who came in right before closing time. Hahaha Only downside — felt like it was a bit pricey. Worth it for sure though!

This place is delicious. College kids, enjoy this place! You can walk here. The flavors are fresh and original. Back when I was a college, boy, you’d find me here. I can’t imagine it has changed much since then.

Had #11 Del Mar, grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos and before tasting them, I added the green hot sauce and couldn’t stop eating even though my taste buds were in flames! Glad I had water on hand Some of the best fish tacos I’ve had in Austin. A must try. Topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes(pico) and onions on a tortilla. I ordered two. $ 3.95 each.

What Happened to this place!!! I have been here couple times lately at night time and it used to be a great place to eat now I can not tell the same. They did not have the tacos I wanted to order available the couple times I have been here. I ordered beef tacos in stead but they were awful, tasteless and no flavor and also I tried agua frescas but the are really sweet to much sugar I guess besides that it used to be a clean place but last time I was here I looked that the back of the kitchen looks kind of greasy ! When I asked for the manager if he was around I was informed that the guys used to manage here were replaced !! Now I wonder why this place is so disappointing. I wish Changos used to be the great place to eat as it used to be meanwhile I won’t recommended to anyone!
