Love this place, love the service! Jessica is the best server, best I’ve had so far. This place is always full and I love it. The top shelf Margarita was only like 7.99 and it was huge. It was bigger than your average margaritas.

Very cool place, one of those«Fast Food Deluxe» type places. But it does stand apart in the level of service, and in the atmosphere of the place. There’s some cool wind-powered art installation in the ceiling. And the food really is delicious.

Good food as you can have from a comfort chain place… I came in recently and my waiter was in training mode, but that’s okay… we all have to start somewhere. I ordered the blackened Salmon with black beans and broccoli. The Salmon was cooked well, though not blackened, but that’s okay. it was«training» night with my waiter. Overall, the food was good and the experience was great. I tipped well on the waiter training team because, after all, they BOTH deserved some compensation.

My husband and I have been eating at this location for three years. Our service has been excellent up until tonight. The server we had, we have had in the past. Tonight she seemed like she didn’t want to wait on us, took forever for her to come to our table when the hostess sat us at the table. When given tips by my husband, she would roll her eyes and give us an attitude. My husband had ordered the Chicken Pot Pie with Potato Soup and Coffee and I had ordered the 6 oz Steak with Fries and Broccoli Cheddar Casserole and Coffee. Our food is always excellent, but for some reason it was Luke warm. My husband was tired of drinking coffee so he had ordered a Sweet Tea. Well at other restaurants if you order tea and then coffee or vice versa you shouldn’t be charged for the other. Well we called her out on it, and the Manager came over and was rude. I understand that each and every restaurant has different policies and such, but for to address the situation as if we were five year olds is plain rude. I gave them two stars out of five for service. Besides, isn’t the customer always right?

I hate complaining about food on Unilocal but hopefully this explains most of my rating. One star for being cheap, another star for the large aquarium to look at in the dining area. My husband was craving a chicken fried steak but we didn’t want to take the risk of driving all the way to liberty hill to dahlias(which we love) for a possible long wait) so we settled on cheddars. Seated immediately on a Friday or Saturday night is a plus. The service speed and professionalism were decent among the staff but — the food. The food. When you grow up as a low-to middle middle class kid –canned green beans were a staple for sure. We had them so often that now the mention of them kinda activates some reflexes In my palette where I can seemingly taste just a little metal like that of a tin can wjth lots of preservatives. I about gagged looking at them on my husband’s plate, I forgot to even ask him if his chicken fried steak was any good. I had the most bland buffalo chicken wraps ever. I felt like by what I saw and tasted at cheddars I can do better home cooking in my kitchen. I’ve never taken a culinary class just have southern mama roots and lots of trial and error. Pros seated quickly decent service large portions cheap. Two adults two kids and an appetizers was like under $ 45 even after tip. Cons: the FOOD.

I’m just now getting around to trying this place even though it is pretty close to my neighborhood. We had the potato skins as an appetizer and they were very tasty. To drink, I ordered the spiked cherry limeade. It was alright but I’m used to stronger drinks and found this to be just ok. I’m not complaining about that at all though. We had a good waiter who had a very good sense of humor. This place was packed when we went and they have this fan in the middle of the restaurant that will definitely get your attention. I wanted to take a picture of it but I forgot to. Because they were so busy, it was a bit of a wait for the food; but again, I’m not complaining. I was so busy engaging in conversation that I didn’t really notice it. Everything that I ordered was hot, fresh and good. No complaints there. I had the chicken tenders, a baked potato and some fries. All of it was delicious. There was a lot of food that I took home because they do give you a lot for the price. We could not finish it all and I have 2 boys with very big appetites. Oh, and the prices are not bad either. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Michael our waiter was excellent! Hostess staff needs alot of work, very immature and arrogant. Food was great! You just have to get seated to a clean table, not one the hostess brushes off with a cocktail napkin and the rest is good.

I took an elderly lady here today for lunch, it was her 1st time here(my 50th at least) she can be a little picky and difficult, but Becca, our server, was amazing and patient. Will be back for the great tasting and abundant food and wonderful service!

All the fish plates I’ve had here have been really good: fish tacos(remoulade on the side), grilled tilapia with mango salsa, Key West chicken and shrimp. All solid choices. As for the sides, the mashed potatoes, Broccoli casserole and the green beans are my fav. 5-11-2016: GF said the lemon pepper whitefish was really good. I had to try her dish(like she’s strong enough to stop me) and I really liked it. The wait service here has always been exceptional. And I do mean exceptional.

I come here all the time because it’s close. It’s service is hit and miss but I’d say this location is above average as far as Cheddars go. The food is always good and there’s not usually a long wait.

I give a 4out of 5stars due to the host’s. They aren’t the most inviting and since they are the front of the business I would suggest stepping that up. The waitresses/waiter’s however are the best and the food is great! I live closer to the one in Pflugerville and would rather come to this one due to the staff.

Okay so as with most of my reviews, I’m going to give the good, the bad and the ugly here. Some background. I’m a very busy mom, I have 2 kids, one is 6 and the other is 2. My mother also came with me and she is disabled, so this will have everything to do with comforts, amenities and kid friendly as well as food, cleanliness and staff. Here are the positives aka The Good! They have an impressively cool looking celing fan. It’s worth looking at. The waitstaff is EXCELLENT. We had one of the finest waitresses that I have ever seen. She not only got our drink refills promptly, but she even took care of refilling my daughter some fries when her baby brother took half of them. The woman was exceptional, and deserved every bit of the tip I left, if not more. The place is very clean. It’s so clean they clean when they are not busy. They were not idle waitstaff, they literally kept working even when they didn’t have to, which really says a lot to management and cleanliness. The food was amazing. Portion sizes are rather large and very good for the price. I had whitefish with a side salad, and it was fantastic. The fish was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and the salad was not oily or wilty at all. Salad can be hit or miss sometimes, but they did well. My mother ordered chicken fried steak, with potatoes and green beans. The potatoes, gravy, green beens, and breading on the steak were amazing. The steak itself was overcooked, but she was willing to put up with that given how well everything was seasoned and otherwise presented. Here are the neutrals:(Not bad, but not good) Both of my kids ordered mac and cheese. If you go to Chili’s, Applebees, etc, beware they do not do mac and cheese like the other chains. These were shells and baked mac & cheese. My son who is 2, had no idea what it was and wouldn’t eat it. So we ordered them both a side of fries. My daughter had her fries and mac & cheese which she said was fantastic. My son loved the fries. Also beware, if you have kids they do not do children menus that can be colored on or played with. If you like going to the big chains for distraction while you pretend to have a decent meal, and you have a little one with you, this is a thing. It’s up to you the parent to supply the distraction. Ours came in the form of the indestructible drink menu for my son to point out his colors and the shapes of the various glasses. Restrooms are very difficult to find. My mother who is disabled spent 10 minutes looking for a restroom until finally someone was kind enough to point out where it was. The Bad/Ugly So this seriously had me very close to demanding a manager or walking out. I have issues when there is a Hostess who does nothing. They have one of those. This woman invites you in with a «Ehhh» and a look of pain on her face when I said«Four please» followed by «And please can we have a highchair?» «We don’t have highchairs» she says. Who doesn’t have highchairs in this day and age and offers a childrens menu for kids 2 to 12. I did look that up prior to the visit, which is the entire reason we showed up in the first place. So I give her a look of amazement and she says«We have boosters, will that work?» and I nodded. Boosters with a 2 year old are a GIANT pain in the rump. It means one adult has to spend the entire meal basically hugging their child in place in a booth in hopes that the kid behaves and that they can personally eat with one hand. My son is a good boy, but he’s 2. We are working on his social skills, which is why we ate dinner at 3:45PM and not had him there during the dating crowd or busy lunch time. Not only did she only get a booster and pass it off with disgust, but she also said«We only have 2 menus» and plopped them down unceremoniously. Remember the restroom debacle I mentioned earlier. Well my mother got a tour of the building and found a mountain of boosters and highchairs. So the woman lied to my face. My mother after her visit with the building, brought me a highchair that she scooted along with her cane and my daughter’s help. So we strapped the boy down and had a much better meal. The one and ONLY reason I did not raise a stink right then and there was I remembered 2 things. 1, I love Unilocal.2. The waitress had been lovely up to this point. After we had our own highchair the meal was fantastic. But the hostess spent the rest of the afternoon on her perch being just as unpleasant as she had been prior to my face. What’s the point of having a hostess if they are going to be like this, I wonder? I thought the whole idea was that they were supposed to be a warm presence to help you get to your seat, get you what you need and make you feel at home? Maybe I was wrong. If all she’s going to do is stand there and be frustrating, than maybe you shouldn’t have one. The only really bad thing about the experience was the hostess, she did not make me feel welcome.

What an experience today. Me and my daughters go to eat today and the hostess ask if I want to sit in the bar. I reply with no I have my children with me. She replied well they aren’t that young and I say to her well they are under 18. Then the service was not great. As we leave and are sitting in the parking lot I see an employee come out to a car with 2 guys in it and the employee does a drug deal.

Glad we gave them another shot… have previously dined here a couple of times and either the food was not good, or the service was lacking, something always seemed to go wrong. Well, tonight I thought we were going to be disappointed again… after a couple of hiccups, and discussing with the manager(who was so friendly and took care of us) we got to try the place again. The food was delicious! All in all we got 2 kids meals(1 burger and 1 chicken tenders), a Monte Cristo sandwich and a chicken fried steak. Absolutely wonderful food! Our server(Erik, I think) was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We will most certainly be going back! Great job Cheddar’s!

My son wanted to come here and I agreed even though I’ve recently been diagnosed with celiac disease. It was promising when I asked for a gluten-free menu and the hostess immediately responded that they had one. Everything was downhill from there. No gluten-free appetizers. Few entrees. You need to order most of them without seasoning or sauces. Only gluten-free sides on the menu were steamed broccoli and black beans. Ordered an entrée on the gluten-free menu. Confirmed with waitress that I needed it to be gluten free. It came out with a side of sauce. Upon inquiry, sauce contained soy sauce… Kitchen does not understand needs of those who need gluten-free dining options. I used to love the chicken pot pie but won’t be coming back now that I can’t eat gluten.

First time at Cheddar’s was for my husband’s Birthday. We got off to a slow start. We ordered nachos for our appetizer — it came out cold. Sent it back and it was perfect when our waiter brought us out some fresh nachos. Ticket times were long for how busy they were. Our waiter and the manager are what saved the day. We will be back!

I use to brag about this restaurant, it has always been good. Except this last time last friday. I got the fried catfish. It was so horrible I couldn’t eat it. It was over cooked, not tasting fresh like the grease was old. French fries tasted like old grease also. I got this to go on 1÷8÷16. I have had this before and it was good. They need to fire there cook on fridays. So unfortunate.

It’s like a bad Applebee’s, but without the execution. We stopped in for a late dinner last night and came away disappointed. After a bit of a wait for the hostess to show up, we were led into the main dining room where the winter night was«accentuated» by ceiling fans blowing. My mom ordered a burger without the honey mayo, onion, or tomato. The waitress told us that the burger was served open faced. Mom asked for them to leave off the mayo, onion, and tomato anyway. While waiting 45 minutes for our dinner, we noticed the wait staff taking other diners’ food back to the kitchen and the kitchen manager was making appearances at several tables. Our server also disappeared for a while, only to return and say that our food was the next to come out. She also said that the burger and steak were ready, but they were waiting on the pasta dish, meaning that our food was either resting under a heat lamp or getting cold. Needless to say, the burger had — wait for it – mayo, onion, and tomato. And yes, the manager made an appearance at our table. While my food was adequate(sirloin with bourbon sauce), neither the wait nor the haphazard service make it worth a return trip. The only saving grace was Danny, the kitchen manager, who was a pretty nice guy and very understanding about our concerns.

Finally tried this place with some friends after an outing. Walking in, there is this interesting fan which I imagine more decoration than anything, but pretty. I ordered their grande margarita which I was incredibly surprised how large the drink was. It was also quite delicious. I ordered their buffalo chicken wrap and I do believe I would pass on that, but my husband got their Ribs and they were delicious. The meat fell off the bone, quite saucy which I also like! He was pleasantly surprised how delicious it was. I do believe we will return again. It was better than we anticipated!

they have very good food now then they did in the past. we both ordered the lunch combo with 2 pairings we chose the loaded baked potato soup and a side of baked potato an we both picked the club sandwich — ½ portion. we also got the chips and queso with beef free courtesy of joining the e club which you can sign up if you have not done so by www. cheddars, com and click e club the waitress was fun and funny she got mixed up on the checks on 3 tables and we had asked before the check goof if we can request her again and said yes well when the check goofed occured she asked if we wanted her as a waitress again she said that jokingly but it got resolved but the waitress was great and very knowledgable on the menu the restaurant was very nice looking

Their chicken fried chicken platter lunch portion is perfect. It is less than $ 10 for the meal and comes with a good piece of protein, toast, and two sides. Their service is quite fast and the means come out nice and hot. My wife got the veggie plate which comes with 4 sides and a salad with croissant. They have their own parking so that is great. The waiters/waitresses and hosts/hostesses are usually quite young but they are still professional and good with time management. I would definitely come here over Applebee’s, Chili’s, and a lot of other franchise«family» restaurants.

Cheddars… heavenly honey butter croissants, cheap drinks, cheap down-home entrees. As a vegetarian, I get excited about a veggie plate for $ 6 that comes with a soup or salad. Always delicious. Not exactly good for your arteries, but good for comfort food once in a while.

This Cheddar’s food is just as good as any other location in Austin. This location is clean and the wait-times are generally reasonable(15 – 20 minutes max for my family dinners). The appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts here are excellent. I have tried a huge portion of the menu here so I can vouch for a few things. The appetizers are all really good. Some of my favorites are the«Loaded Potato Skins», «Wisconsin Cheese Bites», «Ultimate Nachos», and the«Homemade Onion Rings». The Onion rings are pretty top notch and they serve it to you in an awesome Onion Ring Tower! I especially love the dipping sauces that they offer. The Signature entrees are excellent here. My favorite is the«Chicken Fried Chicken»(with choice of two sides). It’s absolutely delicious and really reasonably priced for huge amount of food they give you. It’s only about a 1 – 2 dollar difference between the lunch and dinner portion so it’s in your best interest to go for the dinner portion! I’m a big fan of Cheddar’s due to the variety and reasonable price as opposed to other American Diners. This location offers good service and is kept fairly clean. There’s also other nice things in the plaza to enjoy such as Main Event and frozen yogurt!

Once again Cheddars hit most of the marks. Solid menu, good taste and good atmosphere. I wish our meal hadn’t taken 35/mins to come out otherwise I would have given higher marks. My son and I had only 12 mins left to get to a barber appointment. Also the bill from what was told me was near 150 so a little costly.

I love cheddar a. Unfortunately, tonight I had a very poor experience, and in Austin there are way too many great options so I probably won’t be back. I believe my bartenders name was Kody. What a pleasure she was– not. The guy next to me asked for no fries with his meal and when his food came out he told her he didn’t order fries. Her response–«don’t eat them». Huh? I ordered an app and the food runner brought her the plate but she motioned him to take it to me. Charles response–«oh, haha I should have read the ticket». Apparently instead of putting s table # I got a clever name instead. Classy. All said, I can’t say I have experienced service this bad, not even at McDonald’s.

This is a great location! Every time we go the staff is so friendly and attentive. We have never had a negative visit. The food is good quality and a great price. They have a veggie plate I believe it is called where you can just pick sides, that’s what we usually order and share all the sides. Oh and don’t forget the rolls! Alright I’m hungry now after writing this! I also feel they have a well sized mixed drink for the price.

This is a typical American Diner from the outside. However the cuisine is what stands out. They make many of the items from scratch. The typical Diner stance is inexpensive and quick, which usually leads to highly processed foods. But not here. Even the Chicken pot pie is homemade and it’s delicious. There are several diner style items on the menu but you will be surprised at the home made freshness they provide. I’ll return again for that craving of «comfort food» :) Great job.

All of the fish plates I’ve had here have been really good. Stick with the fish tacos, grilled tilapia with mango salsa or The Key West chicken and shrimp. As for the sides, the mashed potatoes, Broccoli casserole and the green beans are my fav. However, I did run into a cold side dish of broccoli casserole once. Stay away from the New Orleans pasta. The dark meat chicken in my dish today was dry. How does dark meat chicken turn dry? The sausage reminded me of sliced kielbasa. The pasta itself was very starchy. Stick with the fish and beer here :)
