I’ve meant to leave this message for a long time now… so to Raul, I apologize for not doing it sooner, however, I have not forgotten about you! I came into the shop some months ago, curious about the sign outside the house that says«Latin American Art;» I was expecting something of a gallery of sorts, maybe with some statues and other cultural items. I wasn’t wrong, but what was for sale was a wide array of GORGEOUS Latin American handmade jewelry, which, is an art form in and of itself. There was a bright-eyed, buoyant man who walked out to greet me, he was of course, Raul. I learned much about his store through conversation and learned that he himself goes down to Latin America and purchases all of the jewelry from local tribes! Very cool! All the pieces are unique and one of a kind! I encourage anyone who is interested in Latin American culture to take a peek inside and peruse around, you wont regret it. Thanks Raul for the beautiful ring, and I look forward to stopping inside sometime again!

Wow! What an incredible little gallery/store. I was so glad I happened to stroll into this adorable shop and feel like I discovered a jewel. Corocoro is full of unique art pieces, eclectic jewelry and handbags. I bought a few great gifts for me and others. The owner and vendors were so attentive and helpful. I will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

I had a great time browsing this colorful store and chatting with Raul. There was an incredible selection of vibrant jewelry, art, and textiles, all of it responsibly sourced with a commitment to supporting the tribes and collectives that created it. A lot of current trends have their genesis in these designs and handiwork, so make sure you’re buying the authentic product, rather than a shitty knock off made in China. It’s worth making the extra effort, and the prices here are very reasonable. A couple of examples: — Thick«friendship» bracelets, in a myriad of colors — Bib-style, beaded Cleopatra necklaces made from seed beads — Tribal print textiles — Wayuu bags from Columbia(You’ve seen these — they are the brightly-colored, patterned bags that have a bit of a bucket shape) Raul even took the time to show me how to spot a fake Wayuu bag, just in case I decided to purchase one elsewhere. Overall, an incredible store. I’m headed back to buy a bracelet for a friend who saw my Corocoro purchase on Instagram and wanted one of her own!

I had such a wonderful experience shopping at this store. The staff was attentive, and encouraged me to touch any of the items for sale. It’s so nice to feel welcomed at a shop. I was instantly drawn to a beautiful bright green choker, but saw many more items that are covetable. When I was checking out I was told about the artisans and they encouraged me to look up the person who made my piece. I have a gorgeous necklace, with a great backstory, that I will absolutely treasure.

I am thankful that in my short journey through Austin I happened upon this store. I felt like I was walking through an art museum and a museum gift shop at the same time. I was there for a good two hours. In addition to Raul’s art surrounding you, there are: Cards Necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings Purses Scarves Books Raul and Desiree are really helpful and kind and have great taste.
