Thai massage open practice has been looking for a new home and a friend recommended we try Up Collective. The space has been a fun and eccentric option. We were doing Thai massage and acroyoga amongst what we kept singing as the Ren and Stimpy song, «It’s Log it’s log, it’s big it’s round it’s wood…» A huge carboard log in a hammock. We giggled as we noticed a bling pogo stick complete with brass knuckles. The place spells mirth and fun. Thanks so much for having our group for a donation base so we can continue what we do.

I went to Acroholics and had so much fun! Even though they were challenging poses and moves that we tried, they were fun, and the instructors made sure everyone was safe and understanding what to do. Did I mention it’s donation based? They repeatedly said(and really meant it, you could tell) to bring your friends, and still come if you couldn’t donate anything. They are such geniune people here, exactly what you expect from true yogis. Can’t wait to go again!

This is one of the most unique places I’ve been and a great trip to make! It’s basically an artists’ commune in an old apartment complex that doubles as their gallery. There’s art displayed throughout the building which is purchasable and when the artists open their rooms you can come inside and see them work and their work in progress. There is a large range in art medium and subject and you really get a sense of the artists and it’s just a damn cool place. Admission is free so it’s a great way to look at some art and peruse and maybe even purchase without having to pay to get in. They also have a gift shop for more affordable items if you don’t want to buy originals(even though they aren’t expensive). It’s also right next to Juan in a Million, so next time you’re down there walk half a block and get your art appreciation in!

Was there for their first friday. Rainy evening so I didn’t stick around too long but I’m looking forward to going a first-friday silent film drive-in next month. Art gallery with several yummy trailer eateries– officially found my favorite chicken taco in AUS at Besa Luna, sweet lady served me with delicious mango pico de gallo! Drive by Press print makers had some rocking designs– esp liked their twists on the virgin de Guadalupe images( ). Nice to the the print action up close. Inexpensive, easy pm outing when I wanted to be out of the house but not at a show or crowded restaurant.
