On a quick whim, I gave Cycle Progression a try based on seeing their previous Unilocal reviews. I had previously gone to a large bike shop down the street and felt like I had been totally ripped. Definitely not the case here, the guys couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. I felt like I was getting service from a friend who was looking out for the best of both parties. Highly recommend this spot for high quality service and fair pricing.

These dudes are great! I took my bike in for a minor adjustment and they knocked it out super fast. The best part of the whole transaction was that the price for the work was more than reasonable. When other places, which will remain nameless at this time(BSS), were wayy too $$, Cycle Progression came thru in the clutch! The only thing I regret is not having any cash to tip the guys. I would definitely recommend this place over most bike shops in the Austin area.

I really enjoy this neighborhood bike shop! I have run in many times to buy a tube or a tire and they are always very helpful, even though I am only making a very small purchase. I have had a couple of tune ups done as well, and felt the price was worth it for sure. We had the opportunity to actually shop for a bike last week and felt taken care of. The salesman spent lots of time explaining the different options and listening to what we were looking for. It’s obvious these guys enjoy their jobs and are really into biking. Who wouldn’t like a job where they can drink beer during the day and talk about their favorite hobby! There are lots of bike store options in Austin and I would consider visiting here for supplies, repairs and bikes.

This is a great local shop with people who care about what they do. I purchased a bike, not from CP, but needed it assembled by a professional shop to activate the warranty. I had called around to other shops and landed on CP. At half the price of the big box stores and a turn around time of just a couple of hours… I was sold. My new bike rides great and the team at CP was super nice. Great price too! I definitely recommend checking this place out.

The shop owner called me and explained a bit more in detail the issue. Seems my mechanic mis-represented the situation — it’s complicated. The owner offered to fix whatever problem I might have and invited me in to the store to get acquainted. This counts for quite a bit for me — this sort of personal service. I have 4 bikes and commute by bike and really need a reliable shop. I would mention that this wheel probably needed a complete rebuild which the shop had recommended.

Cycle progression met every one of my demands and more! Emily helped me pick out the best bike that was the best bang for my buck. Their selection is grest, prices are very competitive and I think this is hands down the best bike shop in Austin. I’ve also used them for bike repairs and they never let me down. Turn around time is very quick and their bike techs really know their stuff. Don’t waste your time shopping at other places, just come here instead.

Something has gone drastically wrong. New location, newer selection of bikes and a newer buy-a-$ 7,000-bike-or-beat-it attitude. Not my cup of tea at all anymore. Nope. I am going to Bicycle Sport Shop with my thousands of dollars, but not my many many many thousands. Blah.

Really nice people and didn’t make me feel stupid for knowing nothing, still comparing where to buy my bike but I do have my eye on one here. Thanks Alex!

I have been cycling for many years and have used most of the shops in Austin over the years. Cycle Progression has ended this for me. I will only use this shop from now on. The other shops in Austin should go in and take not of what true customer service is in a pure and natural state. Emil and Alex are sincere and care about what ever your current cycling needs might be. They give great advice and know the products well. They are not there to squeeeeeeze your last dollar out of you and when this is present in retail you gain loyalty. You don’t have to worry if you are new to cycling or been around a long time they will discuss and help you make the right decision. CHEERS!

Emile helped me pick out and build the most gorgeous, sweet ride I could have possibly gotten … And we stayed in my budget. I can’t imagine ever wanting another bike. Since then we have taken all our bikes here for repairs and tune ups. Even the kids bikes … and they just take care of what needs fixing and always give us a fair price. These guys really know bikes and I totally recommend them!

My go-to shop for a long time, for a million reasons. Top of the list is that they can fix anything. Anything. I’ve blown up a small universe of different parts on a couple bikes, and they’ve always fixed it quickly, or scavenged something from the parts bin to hold me over until a specialty part came in. Top-notch service at very reasonable prices, without the attitude or the wait that comes from dealing with the bigger shops in town. Also saved my bacon more than a couple times, fixing my more-spectacular failed DIY attempts on very short notice. These are experienced bikers/racers that know the misery of being without a functioning ride, and will do anything to get you running ASAP. Flat-out great shop.

These are dedicated cyclists that love the sport and great gear. Boutique products and services without the attitude. If you want your best equipment treated right, this is your LBS.

I haven’t purchased a bike from these guys yet. But I always bring in my old bikes to them and they fix them at very very good prices. Very nice people.

I had a broken spoke and after putting the bike on the rack, they found that it was a size they didn’t carry(the bike has an IGH so the spokes on the rear are short). They removed the spoke so it wouldn’t cause problems and gave it to me to take to Bicycle Sport Shop because they would probably have that size, and if they couldn’t do the work today, Cycle Progression said bring the new spoke back and they’d install it for me. They also noticed a bolt was missing from my rack and replaced it at no charge. Also, they have a really nice dog. Will definitely go back for other needs.

I wandered in to this shop to get a tire fixed and discovered a real honest business. These guys really know their product and their mechanics can fix anything! They gave me great customer service and advice with out the pretentiousness that I have found at other bike shops of this caliber. Alex and his crew truly love this sport, and love their jobs, and that’s why they do both VERY well. Thanks

Best bike shop in the universe. I’ve been to almost every bike shop in Austin — and many around the world — and no other place even comes close in terms of service and attitude. These guys do it right and you’ll never need to worry about finding another shop once you go in and get to know them. They’re known for being a mountain bike-centric shop, and for good reason, but they know their road stuff too and will work on anything you bring in without any bs attitude. They know what’s up and are in it for the right reasons. I’m now in the Bay Area where there’s a bike shop within spitting distance of every street corner and people take their cycling damn seriously, and I’ve yet to find anywhere or anybody as close to badass as Alex, Emile, and Rich. Go see ‘em and find out why.

Excellent bike shop especially for the high-end mountain biker. I needed the bearings replaced on my full suspension 29er and I went to local shop where the bike was purchased. They gave me a price of $ 300 for parts and labor. I had heard that Cycle Progression had Intense bikes so I gave them a call. The price Alex gave me was $ 150 for parts and labor. «Oh hell yeah you got my business!» I went ahead and spend an additional $ 150 on other items since I was figuring on $ 300 for the total. Sine they were keeping the bike over the weekend they even offerred to loan FORFREE a $ 2k bike so I could ride over the weekend. I have also taken my road bike here as well and been 100% satsfied with the work. They have always had the bike ready when they said it would be and the work is done right the first time. They lack a lot of the accessories but if you can wait a few days they can get you whatever you need. Suprised to find them amidst all the other bike shops within a few miles but they have won me as a loyal customer.
