Great place for shopping and supporting local businesses! This place has lots! From jewelry to soaps, oils, hair pieces, hats, capes, women’s clothing, plus sizes, accessories, even lingerie! Each designer is packed with talent and dedication to their craft. It’s also not your run of the mill retail shop, this place is a cooperative, so you will see designers and artists in house committing hours at the shop. What’s more is that they also include fun events and custom orders!!! Can you find that anywhere else? I think not!

LOVELOVELOVE this Co-op! The ladies that work there(special shout out to Anslee and Tracy!) are always friendly and the options there are amazing! From hand made cards to Curvy Couture custom pieces by savannahred, this place has everything an Austin Diva could want! Megan Summerville lingerie(she does custom wear as well) and super cute pieces by LaLa in a variety of sizes. Quick: tell me the two things I love most about Austin. (sugar and cheese?) No. Tell me the two things I love most about Austin, not the entire world. (discovering cool local businesses and supporting them?) Yes, that’s exactly right. And a women’s networking lunch at Cypress Vanguard, if you’ve never been, is a dream come true. Notably, I brought 2 coworkers with me, which made it interesting was we passed the store’s lingerie, purses, and glittery things to get to the lovely back courtyard. This made me a little fidgety, but it was fine. They’ve got stuff from local artists: jewelry, beaded things, vintagey flower wallets and cigar holders. But the real prize is up the stairs: a whole line of jeans, skirts and shorts made for… wait for it… curvy women. And guess who’s caboose fit into a retro, high-waisted calf-length jean skirt? This girl. May the booty-bop force be with you.

Great all-in-one shop for local designs. This fashion co-op is the perfect place to find something unique that can be custom made just for you. It’s also the perfect place to pick up a unique hand-made item for yourself or as a gift. Make the time to find this sweet nugget a few spots directly behind Moonshine. Drive through the gate and through the first parking lot to find CV parking in the back. …and yes, you can rent thier lovely courtyard for events.

This place is great. They have so many things to choose from, and all are really one-of-a-kind pieces. The ladies working were very helpful too. Will definitely be back.

Cypress Vanguard is the only Fashion Co-op in Austin! The front room houses Megan Summerville Fine Lingerie. Megan took home top honors as Texas’ Next Top Designer Winner in 2009. Her mission is to fit women regardless of shape or size and pieces include ready to wear, custom fit and custom made in sizes 28A-52N, S-XL. From hand beading and vintage lace to rare fabrics and hand tied bows, her work is exquisite. I recently ordered a custom made piece from her Signature line and since she’s making it from scratch it will be one of kind! I can’t wait! For those looking for ready to wear basics, she also has bras that start at an affordable $ 11. In addition to Megan, you’ll find The Ross Bennett Collection: gorgeous dresses and gowns… I even saw a killer faux fur stole, dresses for curvy gals by SavannahRed, and hats and fascinators by milli starr. On the jewelry front: delicate necklaces«By Jeannie», well designed pieces by Tracy Tenpenny, and vibrant fused glass from Foxy Fusions. This co-op literally has everything under one roof. Whether shopping for yourself, a friend, or just browsing, it’s fun to pop by, meet the designers, and even get make up tips from make up artist Kandy Glass.

I haven’t had a first to review in sooooo long. The pressure is unbearable! What to write about this adorable fashion, artist co-op? Housed in the Launch 787 space, local designers, fashion mavens, people who can make you look pretty have come together to dress you up and dress you down. Gorgeous, one of a kind offerings in a wood planked, high ceiling-ed house where discovering a new treasure is just around the door frame. Beautiful jewelry, corsets, custom hats, makeup, evening dresses, candles, belts, wallets, gifts. Items for the curvy and the skinny, for the sexy and the conservative, for the aspiring fashionista or for that lady who likes to support local designers who are taking a super cool leap into the world of selling their one of a kind beauties at, from what I saw, totally reasonable prices. It’s just open(today) but I can’t wait to see how this boutique will evolve over the coming months. Definitely a spot to stop in and pick something up. Guaranteed to make you the bestest friend/boyfriend/girlfriend this holiday season. And let’s face it, we all need a little break from«Should I get her a frame?»
