I planned to have my daughter’s birthday party there but many of her guests couldn’t make it. The management was extremely accommodating when I had to cancel at the last minute. I still took my daughter and a few of her friend’s there for her birthday and the staff was great. I have bowled there several times and have not been disappointed either time. I would reccomend going, it’s a good time. Florence C

As a novice wanting to get more into bowling, David in the pro shop was unbelievably fantastic. My girlfriend and I both received new balls that need to be fitted. David showed extreme knowledge in the process and made sure we got the fitting that was right for us. I had to make a drive from south to this shop but have no regrets, a great experience. I will continue to go to this pro shop and can promise I will let all my friends know.

Bowling is bowling on a Sunday night, their food menu was a big let down considering it had a full kitchen. The bar was mediocre, biggest thing that got to me was how rude the bartender was. She wasn’t busy when two of us went to order beer and she had an attitude while we were looking at the variety or beer. Price of beer was fair. But the service alone at the bar ruined the rating of this place.

This place was great. They are not honestly the best of the best or have new technology when it comes to their equipment but their pricing per game was quite good and the staff is friendly. The location is a bit far for the northern Austinites but if you don’t mind driving a little off Burnet and 2222 area then you will be fine. They have a good amount of lanes and have specials on Fridays from what I hear. Just wear any University clothing and you get a free game on the house. You don’t have to be a current student, just wear some supportive shirts or colors and you’re in! They have plenty of parking and I hear the food is good, too but haven’t tried it. We will definitely be coming back here when we get a chance. I played a couple of games and got shoes for less than $ 15. We weren’t rushed since we paid per game so that was also nice since we were sipping on a few beers while we were playing and chatting. Can’t wait to come back!

Place is cute, found it on a rainy day. The didn’t have the things for the kids to hold the bowling ball but kids still had fun. Sodas didn’t taste like much. They had a very tiny place to play video games and pool table too. It could use an upgrade

Went here for a gathering. Very amazed how fun this place was. It was very busy. All ages. Everyone enjoying themselves from bowling to the area where the video games were. The customer service was great. Very helpful. I did not have the food, but the drink prices were great.

We had our Christmas gathering at Dart Bowl yesterday and their staff was amazing! Game Time Dog Services is a small business and we were only 5 deep, but your staff treated us just as importantly as they would a big group. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

My husband and I checked this place out last Thursday. We didn’t have the food, but we enjoyed two games. The place wasn’t packed, but had a decent turn out for it being Thanksgiving night. For both of us, the price was around $ 30, which wasn’t too bad. There were people of all ages and the atmosphere was nice — not too dark or too loud.

I had no idea this place existed after almost five years of driving past it between Lamar and Burnet. It’s a great community bowling alley that is reasonably priced and family-friendly. There are some solid weekend deals for students(show ID) and UT fans(wear burnt orange). Check online for the details. The concessions stand has your usual selection of snacks. Just keep an ear out for the ready announcements because it’s relatively quiet. Fun Fact: This is the bowling alley from Boyhood. The scene was filmed in the bar area beneath the wooden Texas signage.

Cheap as hell bowling. Reminded me of this bowling alley back home that everyone went to. I love it when bowling alleys charge by the game and not the hour because by the hour sucks and makes you feel rushed to play. Enchiladas were ok but I want to try the burger there next time :)

Dart Bowl is an Austin institution. If you want a place where you can go with a group just for fun or have a weekly league night, Dart Bowl is your place. The prices are great, and the Café has about the best enchiladas you’ll ever have. The drinks are not bad with the canned local beer selection, but their wine and liquors selection is lacking. One of my favorite places to hang out in Austin. Beats any other bowling alley in town.

Very good enchiladas. Remember to order just the enchiladas and not the enchilada dinner. The former comes on a sizzling silver platter, which makes them near perfect. They are thick tortilla shells, filled with ground beef, smothered in a type of Mole sauce, and dusted with melted cheese. You really don’t want to order anything but this here, as the rest is unremarkable bowling alley food. The bowling is real affordable and the lanes are good. There are plenty of places in Austin to bowl, but the employees here are friendly and it’s the first time I was surprised by how cheap the bill was when we left. Also, this is the only place I’ve ever seen with a laser maze! Think Mission Impossible type laser maze. It’s a large room with lasers and you have to make your way across and back in the least amount of time possible. Each laser you hit adds 30 seconds to your final score. One person in the room at a time, but guests can watch their friends on a TV monitor. It was a ton of fun for our family. We will go back just to do that again.

My teenage kids and their friends discovered Dart Bowl as a reasonably priced retro group activity a few years ago. Since then, they’ve made it an almost weekly stop for a couple of hours of affordable active entertainment. It’s cheaper and less flashy and loud than places like Main Event, so parents can tolerate it well, too(not that I’ve exactly been invited to tag along, but just in case you are). It works just like the old days, because it’s been there since the old days, right across the street from McCallum High School off Koenig Lane. You rent your shoes, take your assigned lane(four bowlers to a lane), then pick a ball from the rack and bowl your frames. They have lane bumpers for younger kids, and offer organized parties. If you’re a big kid and done with the organized party scene, you can also bring your friends and a cake and order food and drinks from the café. Everything is clean and in excellent vintage shape. My husband revived his inner teen bowling champion as a result of our kids’ new interest, and joined them for an afternoon of kicking their butts in the lanes. Too bad he gave away his custom ball years ago.

The enchiladas reminded me of those that my parents would get 40 years ago with chili gravy on the screaming hot silver trays. Great memories. Back in the day, this is what enchiladas were. They still taste just as good.

For my 300th review, I must choose a bowling alley, duh! I will probably never bowl a perfect game, but I did bowl half the perfect game this time. I’ll take it. :) I’ve been bowling since I was a little kid. Maybe 8 years old? I don’t know. My brother taught how me to bowl, so it’s always been something special to me. I used to be a pretty good bowler, pre-injuries. Now I’m happy to break 100. But it’s still fun to try to be a decent bowler… and try to win the game. :P There are many bowling alleys in the Austin area, but I wanted to pick one that is a true representation of what a bowling alley should be. Bowling, pool tables, video games, bar, good food… check! Dart Bowl is about as true to a classic bowling alley as they come. There is nothing fancy or pretentious here — just a classic fun bowling experience. There are 32 lanes, all well maintained. I’ve been here before, but we came on a Sunday afternoon for this visit. It was busy, but not too crowded and we were assigned a lane with no waiting. The scorekeepers were pretty easy to set up. Although I did notice that it didn’t keep perfect score on our first game, counting a couple gutter balls as 1 pin after a spare. Not really a big deal and I’m sure it would have been easy enough to correct had we really cared that much. We were there to have fun, not for a tournament. I like Dart Bowl… a lot. Of all the bowling alleys in town, this is probably my favorite. Although bowling anywhere is always fun for me. I heard the enchiladas were good here… and they were, but that’s in another review.

Dart Bowl is like my good cop to the Goodnight’s bad cop. Everything that Goodnight is – horribly overpriced, pretentious, snooty, perpetually broken – finds, like a weird parallel universe, its opposite at Dart Bowl. Sure, it’s apples-to-oranges, as one of them thinks it’s a nightclub that happens to have bowling and one is a traditional bowling alley, but really, if I’m drinking or bowling, I pick Dart Bowl either way. I go on Sundays, where games and shoes are dirt cheap after 9pm. Honestly, with my own shoes, $ 2.25 Pearls at the bar and $ 1.50 bowling games, I can get drunk, bowl till my arm hurts, and generally have a good ol’ time for like $ 20. It’s an amazing value. The crusty old salts who run the front are like something out of a movie; gruff and irascible and funny, and right on it the moment that your lane gets stuck. And your lane will get stuck, because the place is a little on the older side, but that’s really part of it’s charm. As bowling is quintessentially an all-ages thing, you’re as likely to have your lane next to families, teenagers out on the town, or other drunken rogues like yourselves. It’s friendly enough, although – unlike the bad cop that this is being compared to – it’s not really a place that you’d go looking to find dates. The younger bowlers sometimes don’t mind their lane etiquette, but I suspect that’s true everywhere. Prices at the bar are good, but some draughts or craft brews might broaden its appeal a bit. The kitchen closes early, so I’ve never been able to eat there, which is something of a bummer, as I’ve heard that the food is better than it has any right to be. Anyway, pick your spots well, and you’ll find a great place to hang out with friends at a price that you can live with. And life doesn’t owe us much more than that.

I am a fan of this bowling alley even though I only bowled one good game ugh! They had plenty of open lanes, half shoe sizes, a good variety of ball sizes, cheap drinks and it wasn’t very expensive. We played three or four games and had a couple beers. The players around us were friendly and way better than we were but, oh well. The computer was pretty easy to use and you pay after you play. They have a huge parking lot and their bathrooms were nice and clean, not like normal seedy bowling alleys! I have to say I really enjoyed the music they were playing too. Of course, they offer leagues but, this is just a fun place to come to mix up the monotony of happy hour, dinner and a movie!
