Daybreak Boat Rentals

(This is solely based on customer service) Kaytlyn texted me the night before to introduced herself as our captain. Coming in from Houston we had booked the boat weeks in advance and did not pay attention to the weather. I texted her I was concerned about the weather as it was predicted to storm and rain all day. We had toddler and elders with us and I was afraid to take them out in any rain. She texted me the weather detail, what our options were and said she would text us details in the morning. And she did! What sweetness! We ended up having to cancel because of the rain and Brian refunded us back $ 190 out of $ 200 deposit.

This place is great. Classic Austin vibe here with good value and a great friendly staff. They also a miniature golf course that we will hit up on our next rental. Staff gave the kids some food to feed thier fish off the pier and along with the boat rental they had a blast. Will be our regular place of rental from here on

Great people, great prices, would definitely rent a pontoon boat from them again! I had friends in town and took them out on Lake Travis. We had a great time and it was great that we could connect up our phone to the sound system. They even had the auxiliary cord included!

This place is legitimate with hard working staff. I would definitely come back again. The price is very reasonable.

We had a blast hanging out on the lake. The prices were great and we had a blast. They were very customer friendly and even told us about a couple places to visit. We will definitely come back here when we are in town again.

The best boat rental around. We went to the nearby competitors which were so commercialized. Day break had such a personal friendly touch. The boat was great and we had a fantastic time. I would definitely recommended. Great affordable prices too!

Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other rentals in the area. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra.
Our boat didn’t have an anchor, yet we were told we could just tie it to a booey, which is pretty inconvenient & ridiculous to even suggest.
Originally we wanted a 10 person pontoon, but after looking around, we were considering upgrading to a bigger boat, as well as renting a jet ski. The guy seemed put out that we were undecided & told the other worker, in my presence «They haven’t made up their mind, they don’t know what the hell they want» Dude, it was a Tuesday and there were no other customers there. You would think they’d want us to upgrade right?
Anyhow, after that we settled on our original pontoon.
I’m from San Diego, and the next time I’m back in Austin, I’m not sure I’ll use this company again.

My family and I were spending a couple of nights at the Vintage Villas Hotel and decided we wanted to spend ½ day out on beautiful Lake Travis. Instead of swimming at a nearby park, we opted to do something new like renting a boat. I’ve rented jet ski’s in the past, but it was my very first time renting a boat of any kind so I was definitely nervous. I’m a novice when it comes to boats, but the staff here was very understanding and accommodating. They didn’t make me feel bad or stupid about not knowing a lot about boats. Anyways, while I was filling out paperwork and getting a quick inservice on the operation of their boat, another staff member gave my kids food to feed the catfish swimming near their dock. No problems launching the boat, driving it was a breeze, literally, and a lot of fun. My family and I cruised the lake using the provided map, stopping a few times near little coves to swim. Although our particular pontoon was older and had a small motor, we still had a blast. Im not a pro yet, but next time I will be renting a ski boat so that my family can get out on the tube or ski’s. Rental fees were very reasonable in my opinion, I rented the cheapest pontoon they had based on their recommendation ($ 180 for 4hrs.). I definitely would rent from Daybreak again. This place is not intimidating and great for us novice boaters wanting to get out on Lake Travis.

Very helpful people work there. Even if you’re a beginner, they are really good a teaching you about the boat or jet ski you rent.
They even helped my family out when my car wouldn’t.t start because it was really low on gas and parked on a slope. They added a gallon or two to my car without charge… Great, friendly, helpful people!

I used these guys as an integral part of my proposal to my now fiancé on May 11^th 2014. Not only was the staff helpful and accommodating but supportive and offered advance to prime locations to pop the question. It was a surprise proposal they did a great job of keeping it a secret throughout the entire instructional process. Thank you thank you guys for making this very important moment in our lives go off without a hitch. We will only be using you when we return to Austin.

I had never rented a boat before but 4 friends were coming to visit and the weather was beautiful we wanted a fun Saturday activity to surprise them with! What a perfect day and such an easy, straight forward rental process. After how wonderful Brian was to us, I will never go anywhere else!
Brian was very helpful and laid back about the whole process, as an event coordinator I can be a little OCD– but he made everything so easy and very enjoyable.
We told him between 11 and 12 and showed up closer to 12:15– Getting 6 hungover people out the door was harder than we thought. After some brief paperwork, we were out on the water at 12:45 and that’s when our «time» started. I appreciated not being penalized for being late.
The day was perfect, our friends had the time an amazing time! Being on a boat March 1^st when there was still snow on the ground back home in PA was a great «Welcome to Texas»
If youre like me and doing your homework on where to rent– look no further. I did your homework for you– use Daybreak!

1. No credit card/​deposit needed to reserve a boat. I appreciate some trust in a business.
2. The boats aren’t glamorous, but you’re just looking for something to float on while you drink. This is easily accomplished.
3. Under $ 200 to rent a 10-​person pontoon for four hours. That’s less than you’ll find at Just for Fun down the street. So much less you can buy an extra bottle of rum with the savings.
4. Feels like you’re stepping into the 70s once you’re on the pier, but especially in the «office.» Dudes walking around in little shorts with an unlit cigarette dangling out of their mouth. Heavily faded (to the point of being unidentifiable) postcards tacked up all over the walls. Everyone laughing and having a good time.
5. Left at 11:45 and showed up a little after 4. Charged for a 4-​hour rental. Dig the flexibility.

We’ve rented from Daybreak twice (pontoon boat and jet ski) and couldn’t have been happier with the equipment and service! Great people to work with! We will be back!

I called on a Sunday to make reservations after reading Unilocal reviews for JUST FOR FUN. They were nice enough on the phone. I made a reservation for the following Saturday for 2 hours. They had decent prices. So i called back Thursday to confirm and change it to 4 hours. They had NO record of my reservation and could not make a reservation for 4 hours. They told me to call the company next door DAY BREAK and I was able to get a boat for cheaper and a confirmed reservation. Hopefully it all works on when I arrive this Saturday.

We actually booked a 7-​hour rental from 1 – 8, and showed up at 3:30. I was completely ready to pay for the full price, and told them that, but they ended up offering us a 3:30 — 7:30 rental (and letting us bring it back by 8).
I expected to pay about 3x what we ended up spending at Daybreak, and they couldn’t have been a cooler and easier staff to work with. Very laid-​back customer service, and they were great about helping out a pretty clueless group figure out everything we needed to know.
We rented a basic pontoon — all we had in mind was floating around and having some drinks. The boat was bit older, but ran like a champ and had a solid stereo.
I definitely recommend Daybreak over the other options in the area, and I’ll definitely be going back.

So, the boats may not be quite as fancy as other rental places, BUT the super laid back and dependable staff are the reason to keep going back to Daybreak. I have been a somewhat regular/​seasonal customer for several years and each time I make a reservation, they are always on top of it, and have never put a dent in our plans. In fact, today, they let us downgrade to a cheaper rental b/​c we did not have the number of people we expected. Looking forward to my next day on the lake!

Little Place, But Awesome Customer Service, You don’t need to put a deposit down on the boat unlike Just For Fun. Guys that work there are really cool and always work with you on your time.

Everytime I’ve rented a boat on Lake Travis I’ve used Daybreak.
The boat price seem reasonable, but sometime you wonder what exactly you’re paying for.
My last trip out to day break the employee who helped me was smoking the entire transaction. The boat was somewhat falling apart. And when we got out into the lake we noticed we weren’t alone… there were cockroaches in the boat.
I think it’s one of the least expensive boat places on the lake… but for what you get it sometimes feels like you’re paying a lot.

Daybreak is an appealing, albeit slightly rustier alternative to the more popular Just For Fun Watercraft Rental on Austin’s Lake Travis. Both are on Hi-​line Road, an easy drive from downtown and a perfect afternoon getaway. Daybreak does a few things right.
1. They respond. JFF puts you on hold for lengthy periods of time, then forgets you’re waiting. Daybreak gets you in a boat asap.
2. To Reserve or Not to Reserve. Daybreak lets you hold a boat, or gives you the flexibility to swing by whenever. Granted, they can do this because they aren’t swamped, but it’s still nice to know you can jump in the car and be on the water in a half hour without dealing with a waiting list.
3. Smart business decisions. Daybreak offers rentals at $ 5 cheaper than their competitors. That’s an extra six-​pack whilst you sunbath. Also, they tend to be generous with your time allotment, tacking on an extra ten minutes at each end.
Daybreak doesn’t have the hottest fleet, and yes, their pier tends to lean a little to the right, but they do have Pumpkin — a 20+ year old pontoon with a real wooden steering wheel.
Runs like a champ.
