Formerly known as Carlos N’ Charlies, which closed after the years of severe drought. This place opened, when I went it seems like there are renovations under the way. When I went it was outside seating only by the bar and you sat yourself. The menus are on the table and eventually someone will come to you and take your order and drinks. The food is cooked out of a trailer by the entrance. Those people I think page the waiters or bring them to the bar and then the server will bring the food to you. The drinks are made at the bar. There isn’t a really good system down on the service, which is pretty annoying because it takes forever to get your food, drink, check, and refills. There is a dj that plays outside too. There is a swing by the bar which is sort of interesting. The inside is roped off and I guess they are trying to figure out what to do, because it didn’t look like anything has started yet. The food was pretty pricey for what you got, for a quesadilla, fries and two tacos it was $ 35. I’m not sure if I will return at this point.

Pro — location, view, no cover, food, service Con — bands, construction This place could really be something. IMHO if the bands were better and, or more modern perhaps a younger, more enthusiastic crowd would partake. There isn’t much off Hwy 620 for night life so I’m surprised this place doesn’t do better volume. I hope they keep improving.

Cool hang out with chill wait staff, but the DJ they hired for a Sunday afternoon was playing awful, bass-laden club dance music that no one could talk over. The place has a margaritaville vibe, so the music totally ruined the experience. The crowd wasn’t an EDM crowd.

Come here and bring the boat. Seriously. Why is this place not hopping busy? Does no one know about it but boaters? Sad to say up north lakes blow travis out of the water. Get here and let’s party on the water! Sad to see this place going to waste. Yes ypu may need to get someone’s attention for drinks but the food is good and the owners are friendly! Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Just pray the water stays up. Dust off that performance boat(yes I’m bias) and come have a good time.

Love this place and so does my pup! Service has been great recently, the live music is fun and it’s a great place on the lake to grab some food/drinks after a long day of boating.

I will always miss CNC being here but it is great to have something back in the place. It is perfect for when you are coming off the lake but don’t want to go home yet. I have only been on a Saturday and every time there has been a great band playing. The bartenders have always been fast and I really like that there are some local beers on draft. They even have swings around the bar top which is kinda fun! They only thing is they don’t serve food but maybe next summer. They do have a food truck out front that was just ok to me.

Seriously not worth your time! No ice tea. Couldn’t have juice because they need it for the alcoholic drinks. No lemonade without alcohol. Menu unappealing. Service slow. Decided to take our water and leave. Left a small tip just for their time to bring us the waters and menus. They made us throw away our waters after i left a tip. It was 430 in the afternoon. So Disappointing. We will never go back there again.

This place is awesome !! Was there last Friday, I enjoyed the Ceviche. It’s kid friendly and they have kids menus too. It was great for me to not only enjoy myself but my 5 year old was shaking on the dance floor. We absolutely enjoy The Live music! Very entertaining… I love 80’s music and the Band was AWESOME! Everyone was dancing enjoying the music and outdoor atmosphere, very laid back cool Caribbean feel with an Amazing view of a Lake Travis.(I took a beautiful picture of the sunset) Not to forget we had a Full moon. I was mesmerized by the breath taking view this place has to offer. This is my new hang out spot! For sure!!! Thank you ! To the Staff and Cooks for doing a Great job !! Keep doing your Best! All the best !!

HORRIBLE(NON-EXISTENT) SERVICE the only thing this dive has going for it is the trailer food, which is pretty good, even though most of it is frozen/fried. went there on a Sunday around 11:00. only a few other tables with guests, however we waited over 15 minutes for service before i finally had to go to the bar to get drinks. this must have gotten the attention of a waiter because he then made a beeline over to our table. we ordered 1 appetizer, which took about 15 more minutes to get. throughout our stay the waiter never checked back with us and we had to flag him down whenever we wanted to order more food or drink. add to that the sticky wooden tables plus plenty of flies. will never go back to this sh*thole.

Okay… Let’s start with this place having a bipolar name issue. Is it Frog’s At The Pond or Kool Fish? Next… Somebody tell these people to get rid of the misters!!! This is Texas. They don’t work here. This isn’t Arizona or New Mexico. We already have tons of water vapor in the air. All these things do is make us stop to wipe our glasses every few minutes! It’s OBNOXIOUS. Okay… It’s hot, I want an iced tea. They don’t have tea. ??? Where are you people from??? Let’s try ordering. Oh… wait… Son that’s not available? It’s on the menu, but I can’t order it. Huh??? Our waitress, bless her soul, she didn’t tell us the entrees take FOREVER. It took almost an hour. She apologized and management took 20% off the ticket. Offered us a beer. They’re operating out of an airstream. REDEEMINGQUALITY: The food was delicious. Hope they get the kitchen up soon…

The owner from Frog’s Pool Hall just bought this place. It’s awesome, always a good time! The drinks are cheap and good. Very nice people! Aimee is the best waitress, very sweet and attentive!

Arrived at 6pm on August 1 for a birthday celebration only to find the place locked and closed. Now scrambling to find another suitable location.

The fare is pretty basic. Chicken fingers, fries, burgers, tacos. We did not order cocktails this time so the orders were straightforward and basic. Why did it take 40 minutes for fried food? Were they feathering chickens still? We had to ask each time for water refills. Our server was a smart ass for whom we cared very little for; when your table has been waiting a long time to be fed and are«hangry»(hungry + angry), annoying them should be the last thing on your agenda. The server was missing for most of the meal and we almost walked out on our tab for waiting too long for the smart ass to give us our check. The crowd was your typical older Lago Vista hippies but drunk and extra obnoxious. I won’t be back.

Great view and awesome potential for a bar & restaurant but, Frogs is poorly managed and not worth the long wait to get service. After waiting 15 minutes at our table I went to the bar for drinks. Poor service there, too. Finally got the manger to send a server over. They offer decent ‘food truck’ food(no operating kitchen on site) but, the bottled beer was warm. Think I’ll skip the next visit.

Nothing here my party had was fresh. From the tortas to the tacos to the specialties, the food tasted like it was reheated. Half of our posts were incorrect and someone ordered 12 wings — they got 6. They waited to get this corrected for 40 minutes(reminding our server multiple times) until he finally just asked for a check. Thru them have him the wings after he said he didn’t want them. The manager also got a little too friendly with us, very offputting. The food was not great and the service was terrible, don’t get suckered in here after boating. They kept us here an hour longer than necessary. As a final note, I will give their wings 4⁄5 stars, but the service and quality of the rest of the food greatly overshadowed their quality. 1⁄5 stars, beware.

Welcome Frogs at the pond, This place is awsome food truck outside that rocks out reasonable and tasty tacos I personally had the mahi mahi tacos. The infamous brewing company has craft beers available at Frogs at the pond. The bands are great and the food is awsome. Skidog lover of lake travis for 23 years.

Has potential. A pleasant alternative to The Oasis. Nice beach theme décor. The docks are now floating in waist deep water. They just opened last weekend(may 22) and there is a food truck out front you can order from and they bring you the food.

Hot and new! Awesomeness! Frogs at the Pond just opened in the OG Carlos N Charlie’s locale on Lake Travis! Great open space with tiki tables, swings, lakefront, music stage, Mexican food, and good people! Updated RTF! :-)
