Denny’s

Like most 24 hour places, it’s not adequately staffed during third shift. So forget about drink refills. Dirty as hell. Bathroom is nasty. That being said the food isn’t good. May come out cold.

Ordered take out after a trade show. The person who took and delivered my order did an amazing job and was nice as could be.

I visited Denny’s on Sunday Jan 17^th 2016. Waffle House next door was packed as usual so I went to Denny’s. I wish I hadn’t. Initially, my waitress was very nice. She sat me next to a table with a screaming baby so I asked to be moved and she helped me out. She took my food and drink order promptly. That was the last I saw of her. A runner brought out my food. The food was ok, it’s Denny’s so yeah it was greasy and the pancakes have now become smaller but all in all the food was what I expected it to be and that’s a good thing. The service was non-​existent. After a while of rubbernecking around the whole restaurant with the hope that somebody, ANYBODY would notice me, a VERY BUSY lone waitress who was serving the entire place by herself finally came over and apologized and refilled my coffee and brought more napkins. I then had to wait quite some time for the same waitress to find the time to bring me the bill. She again apologized and I told her it wasn’t her fault at all, and I asked if my waitress had gone on strike and why she was the only server in the whole place. She informed me that nearly the entire staff was outback with the manager having a meeting. The entire restaurant was packed on a Sunday, with one waitress left to serve the whole joint, and the manager is having a meeting. You can’t make this stuff up. So I paid my bill and reluctantly left a tip with the hope that the one busy waitress would receive it, and I coincidentally was parked out back so I was walking outside in that direction. Sure enough there was the manager, my original waitress, along with what seemed to be the entire wait staff and maybe some kitchen staff. I heard a lot of confrontational tones and disputes and what not. The manager appeared to have a mutiny on her hands. I don’t know who called that meeting, and I don’t know who thought it was a good idea for waitstaff to air grievances in the middle of Sunday breakfast with a packed house, but at the end of the day it was at the expense of customers who were expecting some kind of service. Absolutely inexcusable and I will never be back to this place ever again. Next time I’ll just wait for a spot at the Waffle House if I want eggs and coffee.

Stopped for coffee and breakfast after a visit in Austin and before a doctor appointment for hubby at the VA, was 2 minutes away from walking out when waitress finally appeared and took our full order, I was hoping to explore menu while enjoying my first cup of coffee. I ordered first thing I saw on Senior page and it was scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Delicious. Hubby ordered Lumberjack meal and his only complaint was hard, cold hash browns. Service really lacked, though. First, forever to order my coffee, when meal arrived, no syrup and we both had pancakes, she brought me toast which she wished away because she should have brought him an English muffin. Had to ask for bill. fortunately we were in NO hurry because if we had been… this would have lost another star.

This place is nasty! The food is terrible and the service is terrible. It took about 40 minutes to get our food and when we got it, the fries were hard as rocks. There was hardly any staff there so probably bad management. The cashier was also the waiter handling money and food. I literally felt like sticking my finger down my throat. Seriously, stay away from this place.

The night time service here sucks. And it wasn’t even that busy. Once they take your order you have to ask for everything. Refills, forks, napkins, check, etc. I would give the service here a zero. But on the bright side the food was great and came out fast. Just don’t be thirsty cuz u will die waiting on a refill.

5 stars for our server Daniel E. We came in during lunch rush and sat at the counter ready for breakfast. We sat for a little longer than anyone would want but we are patient and understand that some things just happen. When our server arrived, he immediately apologized and explained that he got caught up at the register. That goes a long way. He took our order with ease and experience. He knew the menu and answered any questions we had. Our food came out quick, hot, and good. He checked on us several times and sincerely apologized once more for not tending to us sooner. He thanked us for our patience. He was very engaging and warm. Kudos Denny’s for such a great hire!

I’m giving this 5stars because of the impeccable service. Growing up in Texas, Denny’s was a staple, so as my family and I were looking for a place to have breakfast before my flight back to NY, I suggested we eat here.
We ate there the morning of 12/​31/​2014, ny’s eve, and although it was busy there was no problem accomodating a party of 10. Our server was attentive, polite, and extremely nice. I haven’t been to Denny’s in like 10 years so maybe they’ve stepped their game up since then? Nonetheless, I was impressed.
Breakfast went off without a hitch and I made my flight back to NY.

Clean and courteous. The store was very clean, and even saw staff cleaning off tables. The staff greeted me with a smile and kind words. The food is up to the chains standards.

I recently came to this location for a cup of coffee and the it was a pretty bad experience. My waitress brought over my coffee but no spoon to stir in the cream. She disappeared and I did not see her until she brought over the check. Never once coming by to ask if I needed anything. I could have understood if it was a busy morning or maybe a problem with being understaffed but there was no one else except maybe 3 other people in the restaurant.

Recientemente me encontré con este lugar para una taza de café y el era una muy mala experiencia. Mi camarera trajo mi café, pero sin cuchara para revolver en la crema. Ella desapareció y yo no la vio hasta que ella trajo el cheque. Ni una sola vez que viene a preguntar si necesitaba algo. Yo podría haber entendido si se trataba de una mañana ocupada o tal vez un problema con ser escaso, pero no había nadie más, excepto quizás 3 otras personas en el restaurante.

Yo, this spot is bunk, even for a Denny’s. The food was whatever, ya know it’s Denny’s but the service was wack. Nice enough people but it took forever to get my food and the joint wasn’t even popping. Yer boy bummed on this.

I really don’t like writing bad reviews when i know that its not that waiters fault but this place is poorly managed. There was a restaurant full of people and only one waiter to cover the entire restaurant! We seriously waited an hour to get our food and 30 minutes to order. We saw our food sitting there for 15 minutes getting cold before the waiter brought it over. On top of that, part of the order was wrong but I didn’t bother to send it back because we would have had to wait an additional hour. But I’ll give it two stars because maybe service is better on days when they are not understaffed?

Came here for a late breakfast (about 10am) after dropping some folks off at the airport. We were seated immediately, and did not have to wait long after placing our order. Our server was fine, nothing bad, nothing great. That’s about what I also have to say about the food. The blueberry pancakes could have used another minute or so on the grill, as the center seemed a timy bit mushy, may have been the blueberries. What I would like to see corrected is the floors. There were little pieces of trash everywhere, nothing a manual carpet sweeper every hour or so couldn’t fix.

I love meeting my friends, having a great cup of coffee and the best pancakes, quick and pretty good for a decent price. Breakfast $ 5-​$ 8. Service is pretty good. Oh yeah the milkshakes are good. This place is clean, the waitresses don’t bother you. I have sat with a friend for over an hour and no one said to get out or give us looks. I just live 2 miles from it. It’s fairly new by the Hotels. The only thing I ever had a problem was with my over easy eggs. Apparently the cook thought that meant under cooked. Then same day I also wanted my bacon crisp and done. I was served burnt, OK charred bacon. I think the cook was having a bad day. But I got a redo.

We visited this restaurant twice while staying in a nearby hotel and i wanted to give it a higher review than a 2 star but on our second visit we were joined by an uninvited cock roach under our table. Just plain unacceptable. Disgusting. We told the waitress who said she «let someone know «then proceeded to do nothing about it. The manager was there so we told him and while he thanked us for letting him know, based on the other reviews, it’s probably safe to assume nothing will be done.

Go ahead… heckle away, but this place has some damn good food these days! Smoothies, super fresh eggs/​omlettes, cuisine types a plenty and even… gasp, multiple options for vegetarians!
Amy’s veggie burgers with sweet potato fries? Next trip, I think I just might…
You can read my review of the original Denny’s outing in Sagnasty, MI for more detailed info. And to be transparent, we got to-​go food and the service at this locale was PISS POOR (Two jerk-​offs basically argued over who HAD to take our order, even thought the place was empty). However, I’m sticking w/​4 stars as the «Cheese over My Eggy» with browns was just grand. Way to step it up, Denny’s!

I love this denny’s because it’s right next to the hotel that we stayed at.
I love denny’s because i love eating breakfast. When i’m away from home and i demand something that is cheap and something that i can expect to be the same quality i can just roll into a denny’s like this one.
The quality of service was pretty good. Our waiter was attentive and did a great job filing our glasses considering we were thirsty after our hard night of drinking.

I don’t know if its typical of this Denny’s but holy cow, the service was just awful. Waited 20 minutes just to have our drink orders taken. I didn’t eat half my food because it was undercooked. I know its Denny’s but still, if I wanted to eat crappy food, with a bunch of folks who got their GED’s, I would have just gone to Norman or College Station.

Yes, I went to Denny’s today. I haven’t been to Denny’s since maybe high school? When I lived in Indiana a decade ago? Anyways, I am stuck at an Austin airport hotel awaiting my rescheduled/​cancelled flight, with no car, and there was a Waffle House and a Denny’s within walking distance. I picked Denny’s. Oh, how I do love business travel.
While this particular Denny’s probably wasn’t as clean as I’d liked – I think there might have been a napkin or two lying on the floor in the entryway, I have to say, other than that, it was all around a good experience. The service was super friendly and attentive; they seated me right away, took my order right away, and the food came out in 10 minutes. The sweet tea was pretty awesome (and super refreshing since it was 94 degrees outside), and the burger I ordered was also pretty awesome. The bun was nice and toasty, the cheese was nice and melty, it was cooked pretty well, and the condiments all seemed nice and fresh. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

I saw a roach on the wall by our booth, the waitstaff didn’t keep my drink refilled, appetizer came out same time as meal (which took forever), my husband found a hair in his food, and the waitstaff was far from courteous. I was disgusted by this particular location on a whole. My husband is far kinder and more tolerant than myself. However, we agreed that we will never be visiting this Denny’s again.
