These guys are really great. I’m surprised to be the first one to review them. I’ve actually hired them for two different projects. One was a music studio in my back yard. I mainly was hoping to control the sound leakage from the space as I teach drums and live in a residential neighborhood. Deruiter’s sprayfoam along with a well planned acoustic isolation construction design helped me to fulfill a lifelong dream to be able to play my drums whenever I want without disturbing my wife or neighbors. In addition the studio space is AMAZINGLY energy efficient which I know is the main reason that most folks opt for sprayfoam. Compared to batting and blown cellulose, in my opinion, there is no comparison to foam. The second space was my carport which is currently being converted into a yoga studio. My wife now wants to teach yoga from home so she needs a peaceful space — which is interesting since the carport is only 30 feet from my rocking music studio! Another challenge to achieving serenity is our central A/C compressor which sits just outside the carport we are enclosing. The rest of our house is older and uninsulated so every time the compressor turned on and ran we could always hear it grumbling from the living room. So I just walked into the freshly foamed carport, turned on the A/C and listened. I could hardly even notice it. Naturally we’ll enjoy the thermal insulation now in the carport, but again, the added benefit of sound isolation from a noisy outside world is a major plus for me. I am sure that nobody in the carport/yoga room will hear a peep wafting over from the music studio which is an amazing feat since my friends and I can be VERY loud sometimes. I appreciated Kurt’s flexibility since I had to keep changing the date of the insulation due to the usual city inspection scheduling snafus. He and his crew were friendly, cooperative, attentive, punctual and left the space clean when they were done. I definitely recommend these guys.
