I really hope this restaurant starts to get the business it deserves. I met a girlfriend at the bar while it was still happy hour and each had a drink and shared guacamole and salmon ceviche. They are losing one star because the attentiveness at the bar was lacking and the salmon ceviche should have been colder, the salsa with our chips was colder than the ceviche. That being said, the price was great and the presentation was pretty and everything did taste good. We moved to one of the tables by the windows(the only tables occupied as they are by far the best seats in the house). Our waitress was attentive. We ordered wine and the steak frites and Mac n Cheese to share. The steak was incredible, we both agreed it was one of the best hangar steaks we’ve had. The mac n cheese was served piping hot in a mini clay pot and was to die for. No room for dessert but we will both definitely be back. The décor is great and I loved the music selection as well… if there were more people dining I can see this being a happening spot. As it was, most of the tables were older people and likely guests of the hotel. So much potential, I really hope DINE gets the good press it deserves!(Plus you get validated parking so no downtown parking hassles!)

They have a great view of the congress bridge and Town lake. The happy hour from 4 – 7 allows you to try different food and drinks from their menu without spending too much. Feels much better than a hotel restaurant.

I don’t know what else to say about this place, the food, the staff, the atmosphere, the music… Other than You got it!!! This place is amazing! I had the fried oysters for a small plate and I could’ve had about 5 more orders. I didn’t want it to end. Seriously, they have a very lite coating, the flavors just burst in your mouth. Wow! Then as my entrée, I went with the Arugula and beet salad and got Salmon with it for my protein. Not only was it beautiful, but again Chef, you did it again! Really surprised this place is inside of a Radisson Hotel. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in In a long time too! Clean and comfortable as well! Five Stars

This place, man. I was staying at the Radisson and was feeling a little hungry. I figured that the hotel restaurant wouldn’t be all that great, but I didn’t feel like walking around town, so off I went to Dine, the most creatively-named restaurant since Food: An Eating Place. It’s actually a beautiful restaurant with great views of the river. I ordered an IPA. It turned out to be one of the better IPAs I’ve had, which gave me some hope as I began perusing the dinner menu. I didn’t expect to find much vegetarian fare, but the Small Plates section of the menu came to my rescue: brussels sprouts, beets, all creatively prepared and available for a modest price(like, six dollars or so). The beets were fantastic. They were roasted better than any beets I’ve had, and served with a little bit of mascarpone cheese. That last bit, the mascarpone– now, that’s brilliant. You know that dollop of sour cream that you get on the top of really good borscht? The addition of mascarpone provides a similar effect for these beets even though they’re not being served in a soup. I was very impressed… Then I tried the brussels sprouts. I don’t know what they did with these, but I ended up ordering another. I can’t remember the last time I did that in a restaurant. I’m not sure I ever have. Again, perfectly roasted– but served with pine nuts, a few slices of orange, and some kind of citrus mustard sauce that I’m still trying to figure out how to replicate at home. Incredible. Dessert options included a lemon meringue dish, some sort of s’mores thing, and a layered pineapple dish. I went with a different item: banana crème brûlée. Creatively conceived and plated, the crème brûlée was thicker than your average custard, thick enough that it was not contained in a separate dish but was instead placed atop some candied walnuts and cherry tapioca pearls. The waiter tells me that it’s one of their least popular desserts, which makes me wonder what’s wrong with everyone else that eats here, as this dish was absolutely delicious. I’d be surprised if there’s a better restaurant in all of Austin.

All the food was absolutely delicious. Had mostly appetizers but it was perfect for a quick stop! Had they had fresh oysters available the experience would have been even better. We sat along the floor to ceiling windows facing the lady bird river. Gorgeous.

Dine is offering $ 9 lunch specials so I figured I’d try out their beef and rice bowl. Worst food decision I’ve made in a while. While the beef and veggies were good quality, the entire dish was soaked in some kind of vinegar– the acidity was so high it made to hard to eat. It was also really greasy. My coworker and I both felt terrible the rest of the day after eating it.

We made reservations and were sat by the wall of windows overlooking the lake, it was beautiful! We even saw the famous bats fly out from underneath the Congress Bridge! The food was delicious, we started with the cheese board, and ordered the filet mignon and chicken dishes as entrees! Dessert was a banana Crème Brûlée. We finished the evening with a nightcap in the bar, and I noticed they have a great happy hour between 4−7pm, half off all bar food and drinks, love that, and will be back to enjoy it!

A solid 4-star with potential to move to 5-stars. We started with a little hitch that the staff worked out — the table we were at had the sun shining directly into my eyes. At my request, they moved us to where the sun didn’t shine, but the table was still good :-) We started with prosecco, which was perfect — not too sweet, plenty bubbly. We elected to do small plates plus dessert. The plates were oyster shooters, pork belly sliders, baby back ribs and broccolini. The oyster shooters were great — 4 oysters on a healthy chip with pico and a green sauce (cilantro habenero or something like that). The pico and sauce complemented the oysters, instead of overwhelming them. In my opinion, the ribs were the best item of the night — fall off the bone with a sweet bbq marinade. Yeah, baby! The pork belly sliders were meh, not much going on — a slice of fatty pork with no great seasoning. My wife liked the broccolini — that just isn’t my style, so I generously let her have nearly all of it. Dessert was just off the mark — the crème brûlée had lots of good ingredients on the side, but the actual brulee actually felt burnt all the way through. We had some coffee with it, and the coffee was bold — which works for me. Service was quite good — lots of staff coming by to check on you, except for one dry spell when we wanted another glass of wine. But otherwise it was good without being intrusive Free parking(all you have to do is spend 10 min driving through the parking garage) is a plus downtown. We’d definitely go back, so we can try some of the other plates and get a seat by the window next time.

It’s in the Radisson, and it’s quite nice for a hotel restaurant. The atmosphere is light, modern, and elegant, with wonderful views of the river. The food is tasty. The menu has a little of everything. I really liked the roast chicken, and the squash. This is a place that you would take a date or a client.

A friend and I lunched at Dine last week and were both delighted by our experience. After being greeted warmly and promptly, we were seated next to the windows overlooking Lady Bird Lake. Fabulous view, serene surroundings. My friend ordered a mixed green salad and the chicken soup, and I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad. Everything tasted very fresh and the flavors were balanced and interesting. As they work on building the lunch crowd, Dine is offering a promotional lunch menu of about 9 different dishes, each for $ 9 — an excellent value. Meanwhile we had the rare pleasure of being able to converse at normal speaking volumes, since there were a lot of empty tables! I highly recommend lunch at this restaurant for its location, ambiance and food, and look forward to trying other meals as well.

Came for brunch on Sunday. I had the salmon with quinoa crab«fried rice» with some veggies. Texture wise, the salmon had great texture. It was pretty yummy. The quinoa crab was too salty. Actually, The entire dish was slightly too salty, even the cream sauce couldn’t help much. Pretty much, The dish didn’t have a good balance of flavor. I tried another persons chicken sandwich and didn’t like it. The chicken was pretty dry and salty. The fries(a mixture of sweet and yellow fries) however, were so delicious!

The food did not look like the pictures. My fries came out unseasoned and sloppily on the plate. The steak was so charred on the outside that there was an unpleasant burn flavor and it was practically raw on the inside. I was here for a midweek lunch. My only thoughts are maybe the poor food and lackluster service was due to the time of day and week. I definitely wouldn’t come back or recommend to someone else. Don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews.

Come here during Happy Hour. 4−6pm Monday-Friday and you will not be disappointed. Service here was great, the host was friendly and welcoming. The place wasn’t busy at all despite their incredible happy hour deals so we were seated right away. Throughout the meal our server came by and made sure we were doing alright a handful of times without interrupting at all. The food runner made sure to give us the run down on the dishes and everything was prepared beautifully. Not to mention this place has two walls made of glass which gives view to the congress bridge and the Radissou pool and opens the space up entirely giving this place an incredibly elegant ambience. We ordered the raw oyster platter, the salmon taquitos, and Cheeseburgers during happy hour(half off the entire bar menu!) which was plenty of food. The oysters came with horse radish, cocktail sauce, vinegar and lemon to dress them with. This was my first time trying oysters so I don’t have much room for critiquing but these were absolutely delicious and tasted fresh! The salmon taquitos were savory and flavorful. I was craving ceviche which I believed they had on their old menu and was a little disappointed that they changed it however this dish did the trick! The cheeseburgers predictably weren’t anything to rave about but I probably wouldn’t be coming here expecting a hopdoddy’s burger or a fast food burger which may have been more satisfying. The burger was a little tasteless and dry and hard to eat but the mixed potato fries it came with easily made up for it. Overall, I would say with the happy hour special this place is definitely worth coming out for. Paying full price for this meal might be a different story.

Really great salmon dish; super simple and clean. Had the oysters, also quite flavorful with a great texture, a perfect little bite. The coffee was good and strong too, which a lot of restaurants miss on. Overall, really great experience.

Recently Virginia B. Wood, food writer of the Austin Chronicle, wrote that«Dine» in the Radisson Hotel is a solid restaurant that is being overlooked by locals. I agree with her opinion. Executive chef David Garrido(most recently of the eponymous Garridos and way before that at Jeffrey’s) brings great food to a beautiful space. With giant windows overlooking Lady Bird Lake, the restaurant is filled with light during the day. Clean modern décor creates an open and inviting space. We were seated at a table along the windows and enjoyed the landscaped waterway animated by walkers and joggers and an occasional canoe or kayak. Cheeseburger: very good burger on a fresh soft bun, the fries are excellent: Shoestring style and a mix of both white and sweet potatoes. I wish more places served fries like this. Roasted squash soup: the brightness of the lemon was a great addition to this classic and mild squash soup. Brussels Sprouts: Dine’s version of brussels sprouts is light and refreshing. The carrot habanero sauce, peanuts and orange brightened up the brussels sprouts without overwhelming their natural flavor and without leaving any cloying aftertastes. Poached Pear Dessert: see picture, which was the best part of the dessert. Poached pear was well cooked while still retaining some firmness; the caramel cotton candy was delightfully light; the ice cream was creamy and delicious. Nothing wrong with the taste, but I enjoyed looking at it more than eating it. I highly recommend Dine. Food and ambience are both very good. If you can make it in Monday — Friday between 4 and 6 pm and sit at the bar, drinks and bar food are 50% off. (p.s. I read Travis H’s review after I wrote this. I swear I didn’t plagiarize, we just agree on what’s good.)

For a hotel restaurant it’s as good as it gets! There was nothing about the food preparation or service that could be improved upon. My husband instantly became a fan when he discovered the tartare is made when ordered, so he could get it without onions(it surprises me how few restaurants do that). So the bad news is that, unfortunately, there was also nothing about menu that made Dine stand out from all of the other incredible dining establishments in downtown Austin, nothing that would necessarily give us reason to add it into our rotation.

Just had an amazing lunch here — I was here for a business meeting and all were having a hard time deciding on our lunch — the chef suggested we try sharing plates. Everything was great. My very favorite was the pork sliders — the bun was especially soft but held up to the meat, slaw and amazingly good mustard. We also tried the vegetable risotto which was so fresh and light. The brussell sprouts were great and very different from the ones I try everywhere else. They had a creamier orange glaze and peanuts. Absolutely great! The mini salmon tacos were so fresh and light. I could have had two orders of those and been happy — but then I would have missed out on all the rest!

Why oh why would anyone go here for Sunday brunch? The tagline should be «Home of the World’s Worst Bartender». We went for drinks on Friday was a S-L-O-W Friday night and we practically had to beg for a drink. Then at brunch, the bloody mary’s were inconsistent. One had an olive and a jalapeño slice(nice) and the other had a lemon wedge. WTH? Table service slow but sweet. With so many amazing choices for brunch in Austin, don’t choose the restaurant in the Raddisson. Just don’t.

This review is regarding brunch. The brunch menu is fairly limited, with about 7 offerings. I ordered the french toast and two of my friends ordered the eggs benedict. Both of these were okay and tasted fine, but there was nothing extraordinary about either. I ordered a side of bacon and received two small thin strips that consisted mostly of fat; I would not order bacon here again. I asked about brunch cocktails since there were none offered on the brunch menu, and was informed by our server that they just have the regular bar menu. When I inquired if they have mimosas she said, «sure they can do that, and I think they are about $ 9.» I passed. Service was very slow and unorganized, which considering the place was empty, is confusing. It appears the same issues that plagued Chavez for brunch(the former restaurant in this same location) affects Dine: average food and a poor service model. It is a shame, because the interior space is gorgeous and offers amazing views. Pro tip: 3-hour parking is validated by Dine for the Radisson garage. However, the validated tickets don’t work at the ticket booth, so you have to press the«call button» for them to let you out.

I’m really not sure what the fuss is here. I went with a group of friends for brunch. It’s a nice, cleanly laid out restaurant and the staff was very friendly. And if a restaurant was just about friendly staff, this place would get 5 stars. However, a restaurant is about service and food and Dine was *sorely* lackluster. The service was remarkably slow; it took over 15 minutes to get our water refilled and we had to ask twice — the restaurant was barren of other diners, so «busy» was hardly an excuse. The food was amazingly — dull. On the edge of bland. No presentation, barely any flavor. Barely anything was done to excite the palette or the eyes, other than putting the food on very clean and sparsely(I mean none) garnished platter. I was the last served, and I was worried as I saw other friends food come out. Eggs Benedict was neatly arranged, but I saw nothing exciting. Scrambled eggs set in front of another person was small and the side of potatoes was plain and dry looking, barely salted. It all looked like it came out of a bag and was just heated up in an oven. When my burger came out — what can I say? The best is that it was cooked just a hair cooler than my liking and the patty was thick and juicy. But it was tiny — for $ 13, I expect a 1⁄3 of pound or a really flavorful ¼ pound. Instead, it was small and the bun and the mountain of layered lettuce, as thick as the burger itself, made for a dull experience. To top it off, they made a mistake and then made it awkward for me to correct it – I ordered a side of salad and they brought fries(the default), along with a side salad. Instead of leaving both and just owning up to the mistake, or at the very least leaving the salad so I could eat with my friends, they took it all away in an almost haughty, schizo-type manner. They brought back the burger, sans fries(and now it looked even more pathetic than before) and the salad. The salad looked like it had just been thrown in there, again, with no sense of presentation and over dressed. Look, brunch is a trivial meal to make exciting. Herb the butter, add lots of maple syrup, dash it up with some flavored salt, add a hint of spice, add a garnish of white chocolate, whatever. Lots of other brunch places far exceed Dine. And if they can’t get brunch done well, I can’t imagine how lifeless their dinners might be. Considering how slow the service was for brunch, a full dinner would overwhelm them and make for a horrible experience, I would imagine. Edible? Yes. Worthwhile? No.

This review is only for the bar area. My friend and I had Labor Day weekend reservations at the Radisson so we decided to try their in-house bar. We decided to sit in the sitting area instead of directly at the bar because we wanted to indulge in some girl talk and a silly game my friend had on her phone. My friend ordered a round a drinks that consisted of the smoked cherry margarita, regular margarita, and the texas breeze cocktail. We were immediately greeted by a lovely bartender/waitress who brought us out menus and offered her own drink suggestions. She was extremely pleasant and kept the drinks comin’! Unfortunately, it tasted like the actual person making the drinks wasn’t the most skilled. The drinks seemed unevenly mixed, they weren’t smooth drinks but the Texas breeze was the best of the bunch. However, it was a very nice atmosphere with pleasant staff!

With David Garrido as the new Executive Chef, Dine is bringing the Radisson into the upper echelon of fine dining in Austin. I’ve been a big fan of David’s since his time as Executive Chef at Jeffrey’s through his eponymous Garrido’s. His skill and culinary prowess are now shining through in high fashion at Dine. We ate lunch on July 31st and had a beautiful view of Town Lake. We started with the roasted squash soup, which we hope will become a mainstay on the menu. It was flavorful and rich yet incredibly fresh. While we were initially disappointed that David’s traditional shrimp ceviche wasn’t on the menu, he’s replaced it with a salmon ceviche that’s just as delicious. The squash empanadas were a couple of bites of heaven. We topped it off with the marscapone panna cotta, which was to die for. We’ll be making many more trips downtown to eat at this revived, refreshing restaurant!

Had a delicious and very classy breakfast here on the last day of vacation. It was very quiet and calm and beautiful atmosphere. Not too loud. Breakfast was reasonably priced with the most expensive item on the menu being 10 bucks. Coffee was perfect and i had the brioche french toast with fresh fruit, it was delightful. I bet they make a delicious dinner too!

Everything we ordered was wonderful: tar tar, baby back ribs, salmon and wagyu steak and frites. The tar tar is a must try. It comes with crispy flaxseed wontons that compliment with the tender beef perfectly. Roomy interior layout. Elegant ambiance. Great service. Unlike many other restaurants, you can hear yourself and your guest(s) talking. Reserve a table by the window. The afternoon view of the Congress bridge is quite charming.
