Does anybody know anywhere else in town you can learn how to DJ? I’m really interested in getting better. Thanks guy

This place is across the street from End Of An Ear and I stop in both every time i’m in the area. DJ Dojo has all music for any DJ’s needs and lessons! The staff is very helpful and knowledgable and super NICE. They always offer free energy drinks. I found an awesome jazz/trip-hop/chill cover album of Radiohead songs and a bunch of great 12“s.

I think just spending time in places like this drops a couple of cool card credits onto your overall limit. The DJ’s life is a fun one, methinks, and the DJ Dojo would seem to bear that out. I rented some equipment from these guys recently, and best I can tell, this store is a collective of several spinners who have come together under the umbrella of love they have for the turntable. The stock itself is interesting and varied: funky slipmats, all sorts of aural mixology beats to be had, stacks of funk and treasure troves to explore, ironic in such a teeny enclave. They give DJ lessons too(!), which I tend to find pretty bad ass. Right now I’m just a guy annoying my friends with an iPod lix and a dream. But some day, some day… there will be vinyl. Again.

So, I’m no DJ, but I can appreciate the cool design and funky vibe of DJ Dojo. They’ve got DJ equipment, some vinyl and other odds and ins — a cool place, but I imagine their market is fairly niche. I poke my head in periodically, to support a neighborhood business — and you should too. Wikka-Wikka-Wikka-SCRREEE.
