SOPERFECT. They gave us warm fresh baked cookies upon arriving and were so sweet and helpful at check in. Room is spacious and has cute decorations. COMFYBED. Nice shower/toilet area. Very clean. Doubletree just earned a lifelong customer

I booked this hotel room through Expedia less than a week before our arrival date at a great discounted rate. It gave me the option to pay upon arrival and cancel at no charge up to the day before which I thought was awesome. We arrived almost two hours before check in time, our Expedia rate was honored and we were allowed to check in early. The staff was super cheerful, helpful and courteous. The room was beautiful and super clean. I did understand the previous remarks of the air conditioner being loud when it kicked on but it did not bother us and was more like the white noise that drowned out the thin walls and hearing other people. The bed was super comfortable, the pillows were super comfortable, the chair in the room with ottoman was a nice touch and also very comfortable! I loved the shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion provided for guest. I went downstairs looking for a microwave and the man at desk at night got me where I needed to be immediately and also very nice! Check out was a breeze and was with the same happy and very sweet lady who checked us in! The reasons I did not give 5 stars are as follows, when we opened our curtains to look outside our view was of the lobby, TV area and buffet upstairs, weird and awkward. Also loud and could hear everyone when AC not on. The hotel is in a weird spot along interchange and if your not familiar with Austin you will pass at least once and have to turn around. Wifi not exactly free unless you join their club, and additional $ 15 for breakfast was a little steep for us! Otherwise great hotel and great experience. We are going back in a few weeks and will stay at this hotel again, just ask for a room in different location. Also, cookies are amazing and they staff are very generous with them as well as additional creamer and sugar for coffee when requested! Looking forward to staying again in that comfy bed!

The pros: friendly staff, updated décor(odd décor, but still updated), comfortable bed The cons: Rather difficult to get to from the south and west. Difficult to GET east, west, and north. Just because of that I probably won’t return. Also, as others have stated, you can hear people in adjacent rooms talking on their cellphones. Lastly minor pet peeve of mine — no outlets near bed that do not require moving furniture. it’s 2015 — people want to charge phones and stuff next to them. I probably will not stay here again just because of the location. It’s a real challenge as it’s on access road at a huge complicated intersection so you have to drive south to get north etc. I’ve been to Austin 50+ times(usually stay at Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn along I-35) and know my way around, and it’s still complicated.

We stayed here about a month ago and had a wonderful experience! The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel location was close to the high we but tucked away enough to not hear the traffic. The hotel is in a really nice area near shopping and restaurants. I will definitely add this hotel to my favorites when visiting Austin.

Don’t be fooled. This is the rebranded Holiday Inn Arboretum. You can change the name and renovate the lobby areas, but it still has the same issues as before. Stay somewhere else.

Came into Austin for one night for business and I always stick to Hilton hotels and just booked this hotel. The room was very comfortable, but you can hear the rooms next door, meaning the walls are somewhat thin. The space is really nice, and it’s even a cool spot to hang out, but it is kind of a pain to get to from the freeway which takes it down in my regard. I may not stay there next time I am in town, but it is a nice place to stay.

Staying here was a pleasant experience overall — beautiful main floor and I knew I would always get a friendly hello/goodbye from the staff as I entered/left. I wasn’t a fan of the computers, however — they logged off automatically if I didn’t type something for what felt like 20 seconds; had to re-log in and get all my pages up again each time — and was a bit upset that they didn’t honor my 20% off breakfast/lunch/dinner Unilocal check-in deal. They didn’t recognize it at all, which made no sense because it was their own deal. That being said, the blackened salmon I had was delicious and healthy, as was the rest of the dish with seasonal vegetables. The room service was superb and so polite.

I had to write this to counter the previous review. I walked in expecting this place to be an absolute dump. This hotel had recently been remodeled and the lobby was really nice. My room was new top to bottom, tile floor, carpet, furniture. I did not see any glaring issues with the remodel and thought the room was very clean and comfortable. I will agree that the a/c was pretty loud. But it did not wake me up. Overall I would give this 3.5 to 4 stars.

Don’t let this ‘new’ hotel fool you. When we checked in, the countertop in the bathroom was covered in spilled coffee. How do you as a maid miss that? Then looking at the ceiling in the sink area, it looks like there was water damage and they tried to cover it up. SEEPHOTOS I’VEUPLOADED. If you flush the toilet, it’s very loud and makes a 10 second loud noise after the flush. The AC unit is so loud each time it turns on, it will wake you up. The thermostat is set, so periodically the AC will turn on and off, and so the noise can be very annoying. but this is what pissed me off. I left the do not disturb sign and came back to my room with the sign removed and placed inside. Housekeeping decided to come in without me wanting them to, and decided not to make the bed, but left a new set of sheets. What’s the point??? Housekeeping came in to snoop and do who knows what with my stuff? You’ve already entered when I requested you not to! Then they come in to remove old towels and leave new ones. But, they leave additional towels ONTHETOILET!!! How gross is that? Then on top of them being so careless, they tossed my personal hair towel on the floor. Thanks a lot for making it difficult for me to dry my hair. I did pack it for a reason but thanks for coming in and making everything worse. When I called the front desk the guy was very unapologetic and said he’ll make a note and if I want I can talk to the manager tomorrow. Funny thing, on the first day when we complained about the coffee stain, they said a manager would call us. Did they??? NOPE! Just read on Trip Advisor that this hotel used to be a Holiday Inn and they remodeled it to a Doubletree. Don’t be fooled by online photos, look closer and see they did a bad job ‘patching up’ an old hotel to make it look like a new one. This hotel lacks cleanliness and the request for privacy and does nothing to fix it. AVOID! Oh, and the ice machine doesn’t work.

I had a good experience at the hotel. Yes, they’ve increased their prices fairly recently, but the room was very clean and fresh and the front desk staff were quite helpful. One in particular(Amanda) went above and beyond to give me great customer service.
