Dragon’s Den Cycling

I’ve been a customer of Ray and Dragon’s Den for a year and a half and couldn’t be happier. He’s done tune-​ups, wheel truing, and full bike builds for me. Service is always fast, well-​priced and well done. Best of all, Ray picks up and delivers from my house. Couldn’t ask for more. I adore this company and highly recommend Ray! I have a road bike and though I try to ride at least 10 miles every day (more on weekends), I’ve never taken a cycle repair course. I just haven’t had the time. I’ve had flats fixed and gotten tune ups and other repair services at a number of local bike shops so I have a good feel for typical pricing and timeframes to complete different types of service. There’s no shortage of great bike shops in Austin and if you are looking for socialization, it’s fun to visit various shops, but I work long hours and convenience is more important to me. I’d seen Ray’s vehicle driving around the area (see picture on their web site home page) and I’ve heard good things from a neighbor so I tried them out when I got a flat about a week ago. I called around noon and within a couple of hours Ray was at my house where he not only fixed my flat, but he also took the time to show me how to do it. He also went over both my tires inch by inch, picking out small pieces of glass and the entire bill, including the home visit, was less than I’d paid at a local cycle shop. Even better, I didn’t have to give up my bike for a day or more and I didn’t have to find an hour to drop the bike off one day and another hour to pick it up the next day. I was due for a tune up and Ray’s estimate was just slightly lower than I’d paid at the bike shop last year, but Ray’s price included him picking up my bike and returning it to my house once the work was complete! I am so thrilled that not only did he save me all that time, but he did the work in less than 24 hours so I didn’t even have to miss a single day of cycling! I could really feel the difference in how smooth my gears were shifting when I go the bike back today and my bike looked all shiny and new. I also love that Ray took the time to ask what maintenance I was doing on my own and he explained in detail a couple of really easy things I can do that I hadn’t been doing. I am just thrilled that I found a MUCH more convenient cycle repair option at an extremely fair price. Be sure to check out his web site as they typically have a number of special offers and coupons.
