Pedro is a great teacher, especially for those of us who are getting a late start on the drums (I started lessons with him when I had just turned 47). He’s good at helping a new student get the fundamentals down and he has taught me to play some of my favorite songs. I strongly recommend Pedro for students of any age or skill level.

Pedro’s a GREAT drum teacher. He adjusts to your kids’ pace and really helps them to develop. It’s been wonderful to see our son enjoy himself and improve. Pedro’s methods are a great mix of focusing on technique and learning beats (and variations on them), and then using all that to play the drum parts of your favorite songs. His yearly recitals, held at real music venues around town, are a blast: with a stage and big speakers and a sound engineer, and all the parents in the audience. Super fun. Highly recommended.

Pedro is an incredible teacher ! My son is almost 10 and has been a student at Drum Lessons Austin for 2 years. In that time we have seen, not only his musicianship go from 0 to 100, but his self-​confidence, focus, concentration and pride in any artistic endeavor he attempts has also improved exponentially. I cannot recommend Pedro highly enough!

My vote is for Pedro!!! I started drum lessons 3 years ago .I had never played before. Pedro was very, very patient with me .I am a middle aged woman starting what I thought was a new hobby. I now have my own professional band ! Pedro is soooo funny and has amazing skills. Thank you Pedro for making me a rock star ! You Rock !!!

This is by far the best music lesson experience I’ve had. Pedro is a top notch musician and has so much to offer. The lessons are filled with fun, from corny jokes to crazy rhythm patterns, he has it all. I gave it a shot and the knowledge he gave me has led me to do great things. A+ all the way :)

Pedro is a really great teacher. My son has such fun at his lessons, on top of actually learning something. He makes sure the kids take it seriously, but also taps into their creativity encouraging them to try new things. It’s a very interactive format in which Pedro plays keyboard while our son drums. One of the most delightful experiences was the Spring Recital he put on with another local teacher at Spider House. The kids got to collaborate with other students/​instruments and get a taste of what live performances are like and how it feels to be a rock star :) Highly recommend Pedro as a teacher!

As a «mature» student, I have to admit I was a little intimidated about learning drums, especially since I’d never had any musical experience before. Meeting Pedro, and learning from him, has been an amazing experience. Pedro is super relaxed, incredibly fun, and also, very goal oriented. In a very short period of time I’ve started to develop my confidence playing the drums, while also focusing on technique, and music theory, all in a practical way. I highly recommend Pedro, especially for folks starting their musical journey later in life.

Pedro is an outstanding teacher. Knowledgeable, patient, supportive, creative & professional. My 13 year old has taken lessons for the past 2.5 years. Besides becoming a better drummer, his confidence level to be able to perform live has also skyrocketed. We are fortunate to have experienced Drum Lessons Austin. Highly recommend Pedro no matter your age or level of ability — he’s got it covered.

Pedro is a great teacher, who really helps you develop the skills you need and then encourages you to branch out and experiment! My favorite part of my lessons with him is when we jam out — I’ll play one of the beats we’re learning and he’ll play along on the piano, which really gives you a good feel for what it’s like to play in a band with other people! I would definitely recommend him to anybody looking to pick up drums and have fun doing it!

Wanna be a rockstar or at least drum like one… CALL PEDRO!!! Pedro Horta is a very Professional, Personable, and an overall Awesome Teacher!!! Always positive and encouraging to his students and very knowledgeable of different drumming techniques. My 11 year old daughter has taken drum classes with Pedro for the past 2 ½ years. It has been such an amazing journey to see my once shy 8 year old daughter turn into an incredible and confident Drummer. She recently participated in a Rock Camp over the summer and performed with a band at a large live music venue. Out of 11 other bands, her solid drumming techniques coupled with her confidence truly stole the show. All Thanks to Pedro!!!

Pedro is an exceptional drum teacher to my 9 year old son. When asked what he liked best about Pedro, my son answered that he’s patient and very cool. So true! From the very beginning Pedro was able to tune into his personality and learning style and really teach to his individual needs and desires. Also, Pedro has taken the time to familiarize himself with the music that inspires my son and incorporate this into each lesson. What I love the most about drum lessons with Pedro is that after three months my son is not only making great progress with the drums, he is also a more confident kid in general. This is due, in large part, to Pedro’s supportive and affirmative teaching style.

Pedro is a very cool teacher! Very personable, fun, and patient. I was not familiar with drumming at all when I started lessons about almost 3 months ago. I would never thought that I reached this stage of drumming! What I notice since the beginning, Pedro tried to understand me, what I like, and the way I sense music. and he teaches based on these aspects! Another thing that helps me alot is while I play, Pedro plays along on piano… it was so much fun and makes so much different! I tried this at home by having a few of my favorite songs on, and jumping in to follow to beat. Thanks Pedro :)
