Fountainhead Apartments

I’ve been living in Fountainhead for over a year and I have not had much of any problems with my apartment compared to some of the other reviews. It is an older apartment complex so there is going to be the small leaks, cracks, and outdated appliances. If you can fix it yourself, its only minor work otherwise just call the managers and tell them what is wrong. My stove was not heating properly and would over heat when I cook, and I asked for a new stove and within 2 days I came home to a surprise. I had a completely new and updated one. Anytime I’ve needed anything, I’ve been helped with in the same day or the day after. The managers have done anything to help me and it’s highly appreciated. I live in efficiency and its just enough room for myself and my cats. My rent is reasonable for the location, and my electric bills are low for my place. The water averages out to about 15 – 25 bucks each other. It’s manageable for people who do not make a lot.
A lot of the main people that I’ve met, seen, or talked to are more hippie, beer drinking people. There are so older families but that is about it. I’ve never had a problem with any of the other people. I’ve had the chance to hang out and chill with the neighbors and most of them just want to live and enjoy life. Can’t go wrong by that?
The area is great! Everything thing I need is in walking distance. There is a Target right after the fence, a Shell Gas Station, Randall’s, and some other small shopping. The bus line is right in front of the apartments.
The big downfall for me is that they are older apartments. I am not a fix it yourself girl so I do have to call everything. Yes you see a roach here and there but that is for any place that you do not clean properly. Other than just the random bug, I’ve never had an infestation.
Overall, I really enjoy living there. My basic needs are met.

You know I have to edit my review on here… I loved my apartment! It was small and cozy. The area I was in was so practical for all my needs. My neighbors were awesome and I never had any situation with them! But there has been a change in managment and the place sucks. I ended up breaking my lease in October due to some family issues and I just recieved a bill 2 days ago, and I just called the apartments to set up a payment plan. Well to find out Corporate sent me out to a Collections Agency! How do you send my bill out when I have not even received it yet! I do not care for paying it! I broke my lease! I am not paying nothing to a collections when you did not put in the paper work in a timely manner.
Marsha was the old Manager of the apartments and she was the best thing that they had. Screw you guys.

Don’t get me wrong, for the price and location its not too bad of a deal (when i moved in last year and everything was cheaper). Close to stores, and bus stops. Heck, even urgent care. Now enough of the fluff. Lets get to the nitty gritty. Lets begin with the PARKING LOT. on the plus You can always find a space, on the downside you got to worry about getting your gas stolen out of your car. Getting car broken into. Speed racer going 55 mph even though you have to stop anyways to turn on to the street. Why you no slow down’!’!’ they did however put some new speed bumps (if you can even call them that) in but don’t stop Mr. Hot Wheelz. Now for the NOISE. Day time not so bad: D hear birds chirping and normal traffic noises… the occasional smashing of glass and metal from the usual intersection car accident, but nothing out of the ordinary for our urban environment. Once the sun goes down though. the freaks come out at night. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to what sounds like some sort of zombie apocalypse. You WILL hear strange moans and yells from outside, where or whom they come from are still unknown. But you know, the usual drunk laughing and then yelling and hearing people hock loogies outside your door is not SO bad. In time you’ll learn to live with it, although every so often someone will drive up at 3 a.m. and blast i mean BLAST a ghetto-​blaster in their car. I’m talking vibrate your windows, not even wearing ear plugs will save you. Now for the GROUNDS. They try. Maintenance workers are friendly, I feel though that most of the grounds lovely appearance and odors are the residence to blame. Nice to have elevators. too bad they reek of urine, same with the walkways. People don’t really believe in picking up their dogs feces (learned the hard way more than once). Long story short every time i leave my apartment i feel like I’m walking through the scum of the earth. SAFETY, as for safety it’s not very well lit. I never like leaving without someone else with me. You see the usual creepers out and about lurking in the bushes. CONSTRUCTION. Every night i lay in bed, i await the collapse. It only takes one person, to walk by the apartment door from the out side to feel like a heard of elephants are about to come charging threw your wall. The walls shake, it literally feels like an earthquake. Scared to be on out balcony more than 5 minutes after having it creak and wobble with nails coming out of it. mold growing from our vents, perfect place if you like living on the edge. MAINTENANCE. When we moved in everything was put in backwards, even the knobs on the stove/​oven were in the wrong spots. Like i said, they are friendly, but I would be nervous to have them change out light bulbs. STAFF infection. They’re okay. Some people are friendlier than others. Although pretty un professional environment. Nothing like walking in to turn rent in or to ask a question and having them shlummped on the couch blasting 96.7 FM with their mouths open and drool coming out. OVERALL, It’s not great, but not the worst. My main problem is the pest control. I mean it is totally worthy of the title cockroach towers. I do get tired of just going out to check my mail just to see the same wine-O’s sitting out for days and days and tenants yelling at other tenants about crack babies and putting their dogs on leashes. Small Old apartments. Subleased it with a year’s lease, but since its a sublease they don’t really care about anything that goes wrong in the apartment. «We haven’t even been in that apartment in 5 years. We don’t know what’s wrong with it.»
Backs up to a Target which receives deliveries at all hours of the night so you’d better be able to sleep through A LOT of noise. Friends downstairs had the bathwater from the apartment above them leaking into theirs. Maintenance came and cut a huge hole in the apartment to fix it and left it for 6 months. Every inch of grass is covered in dog poop and no one cares. Every faucet in the apt leaks. Dishwasher doesn’t work. Theres an elevator, which is nice. It smells like urine, which is not. Frequently broken beer bottles or worse lieing around in the morning. Water bills are averaged through the APT and are ridiculously high, people must be running theirs ²⁴⁄₇ somewhere. Migrant workers gather across the street looking for work and occasionally fights break out.
Other then that its great…
