I have never ordered anything at Full English that was at least a 5 star delight! My Mom is from England and I grew up… full English. The food is always so good but the baked goods are heavenly. I love the«air» in there! It feels like Austin, back in the day. My only problem is the limited & differing hours. FULLYOPENENGLISHCAFÈ THAT’S WHAT I SAY, OK???

I used to love this place. The owner is lovely, tea is strong and breakfast plentiful. Today, however, we never made it past the counter. The lady taking our order was very rude to my husband. We are Scottish and like to bring our kids to over for old café culture. He’s quite shy and just ordered a cup of tea and coffee and was spoken to like he had mental difficulties. She was very curt asking what kind of tea. He said just black tea with milk and sugar. She was quite loud in saying you fix it yourself around the corner. I came over and said no we won’t and left. Not that I mind fixing my own tea, but I don’t pay for rude service. She was a rather big lady with dark hair. I’m not sure we will be back if she’s still working there, which is a shame as I’ve always loved this place.

Delicious food, great ambience, but a wee bit pricey. However, is there really a price for homemade English style breakfast? This is well worth it! Must visit!!!

What a wonderful place! My sister and I took our mother here for a Mother’s Day surprise. She loved it and so did we! It was great! The staff was so friendly and kind. The food was AMAZING! It was perfect! Highly recommended!

Great little place. It doesn’t look much from the outside, but who cares? Full English is in reference to a traditional English breakfast(see picture), and I have to say it was brilliant. As an English man away from home, this really hit the spot and was just what I was needing while being home sick. The only reason I didn’t go with 5 stars was because of the price. With tip and only drinking water, I hit $ 20. Very very steep. I guess it will be a rare treat to myself every now and then. Overall, definitely go. I will be recommending it to people.

My husband is English and we are always on the hunt for a «taste of home». While we didn’t have breakfast when we visited, we saw what the kitchen was pumping out and it all looks AMAZING. We will certainly be back for breakfast soon. We went to have tea out on the back patio and it was a lovely experience. There’s a very friendly dog that hangs out in the patio area and we had a great time chatting with the friendly staff. We’ll be back!

What a gem! So glad we found this place. The food is cozy, fresh, and delicious. As far as the atmosphere, I’ve never wanted to call a restaurant«cute» before, but this is definitely the cutest restaurant I’ve ever been to. AND best cup of tea in Austin for sure. Definitely stop in. There should be a line out the door and down the block for them.

First off, the food: My usual is a farm egg, tomato, and mushrooms. Love Tetly tea because it isn’t expensive and hard to over brew, so it’s nice to enjoy a pot. Both British and American bacons are delicious! The egg in a basket is quite popular. BLT is fantastic. The pancakes are amazing! I get plain, but the Arthur(with Nutella) is a special treat. Full English provides an authentic experience so unique here in Austin. The food is exquisite, the service exceptional, but perhaps my favorite quality here is the purity of the experience. Austin seems to provide much for trendy, overly stylized places and dives, without much along the spectrum. Full English, however, is purely what it is, so tasty, inexpensive, not trying to hard. It is simply what it is, and that is a true treasure, especially in this town of pretentiousness.

First visit to Full English café today. I had the full English breakfast; bangers, bacon, fried egg, mushrooms and toast, just like mum used to make every Sunday. Best eaten with a generous serving of ketchup. I thought this was a pretty good breaky for under ten bucks. Also big thanks to the staff who gave my hubby a free cupcake when they overheard it was his birthday. Very kind and unexpected.

I tried the Cornish pasty. It tasted good. The price is good too. I will visit it again.

Okay well first of all I was for the most part 100% pleased with our experience here. They had our table reserved when we arrived. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed our little high tea. What I did not expect was what the place looked like. I was taken aback at first. But not in a bad way. In a way that I really appreciate how they put it together. I wouldn’t call it fancy in any way though. I would call it very thrifty. They have a great high tea menu for both kids and adults. My 5 year old had the absolute best time. My biggest complaint that I cannot let go is when I called to make the reservation for high tea I was told I could not yet because it was five days before the day We would be coming in for tea and reservations were only accepted 24 hours before. Okay fine, 24 hours before we plan to come they tell me they are booked and cannot plan the tea! I was pretty upset but thankfully the girl on the phone could tell and got us in! I just hope they get their communication together.

I only tend to review things that strike me as worth commenting on… in a world of deluge it only seems appropriate to take the time when something is special. This place has that feeling in spades. It feels homey, cared for, and worked at diligently. The décor isn’t chic and thank the queen for that. This is a café, a real one. This place is for comfort and small joys, and time spent carefully, not carelessly and rushed. The food feels like its from your mam’s kitchen, the service is personal and still professional, and the atmosphere is as mentioned. Full english breakfast is legitimate and dynamite. They have all the requisite British accoutrement in tow. Tea and Lattes are high quality. The only thing I haven’t experienced yet is the weekend Fish and Chips. But I can estimate its solid. Please support this business and this family. Share with them your pleasures and concerns and aide them in their ability to thrive. Austin needs places like this.

Big Breakfast. So big. Bangers, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, British bacon, and two fried eggs. It was a lot, and it was good. Loved their bangers but will probably switch to American bacon next time because British bacon is just warm ham. The tomatoes are so yummy. I even liked the mushrooms, which is not something I normally go for. I don’t see myself traveling all the way down here to get to it, so I’m hoping they’ll open a location east so I can get a hint of London closer to my home. If I’m in the area, I want to hop back in and try the butties, pasties, and other sandwiches. I didn’t even have tea! God save the Queen.

This was a random select by my husband while we were out and about. I started reading reviews en route and was a little worried. At the same time we were really hungry and I didn’t want to change it up(you know… to avoid a hangry argument). We got here and I decided to order a Cornish and lamb pasties. To my dismay all they had left were two onion and cheese pasties. It was Sunday brunch time… So starts the sour note… Cheese and onion pasty — this was a little different than I expected. It was filled with potatoes(I think) and I couldn’t really tell where the cheese was. The carmelized onion sauce it came with was tart and tasty and added a nice change to the otherwise simpleness. English Breakfast on a pancake & Full English Breakfast — For one who doesn’t like pancakes but likes crepes this is perfect. The pancake didn’t disappoint as it was a little bit of thicker crêpe middle with a thinner almost crisp outside. As for the full english part — this was on my list not to order(based on photos). So how I got a taste of this we can thank my husband and mom for ordering. The plates came actually filled with food vs the almost bare plate photos I saw online. Although simple ingredients, the dish still ended up being a nice surprise. The egg was a rich orange yellow color and cooked perfect to my liking. Heinz beans on toast — this dish is as simple as it claims to be. For you who have not tried heinz beans, the beans are swimming in a tomato-ey sauce. To be honest I wouldn’t be able to pinpoint the tomato flavor in a blind taste test, but whatever it may be still added a nice change to regular canned beans. The beans were room temp on a toasted bun. The sauces! — they had a nice variety of sauces faintly familiar to me from my visit to England years ago. From homemade and store bought HP sauce to Branston relish to marmite! Of course I had to try all of them. So the sour note turned a little less sour by the end of the meal. A pretty simple breakfast. But hey, sometimes it’s good to just have the basics.

It’s a small place so sometimes can get crowded and slow done the service. However the food with the wait. This is not a hurry up eat place. It’s a cute relax visit with your friends and enjoy your food and tea place. Farm fresh eggs. British bacon which is yum. Very casual place.

Fish & Chips so good, make you wanna slap yo’ english friend! Amazing food, took this recommendation by an english friend who said they had the best Fish & chips he’d ever had. and oh-my, this place lives up to it’s reviews! Have been going back several times, and on occasion just for their desserts also. Try the English Toffee! Overall, a great atmosphere that leaves you feeling like you’ve been invited into someone’s home! Ps. Don’t go here if you are wanting a short-order cook style breakfast, NOTHING is ordinary and boring about this café‘ and their ‘second breakfasts’!! =)

So I have been trying to go here forever but the hours of operation are mainly when I work so… Anyways, today I met up with some girlfriends. The decker is shabby. Like a very sad thrift store. The BBC radio plays in the background. You order at the bar get your own water and refills. Endless cup of decent coffee. The menu is limited to breakfast/brunch type of foods. I had a British BLT. It was ok. British bacon is more like a very thin slice of ham. But it was ok. We split a huge lemon pancake that was kind of bland. The prices are inexpensive. Any questions about the menu are happily answered by the staff. All in all its a unique little place. Quirky. Kind of like the neighborhood it sits in.

I was excited to finally try Full English, especially on this dreary day, but overall I found the experience to land squarely in the«okay» category. Very cute interior, a mash-up of Austin meets Britain with eclectic chairs, tables, and teapots. I brought a friend with me who lived in England for awhile so that I could fully appreciate whether things were authentic or not, and she was a bit torn on things as much as me. Our first pot of tea was great, but the 2nd pot was really weak, even after we let it steep for awhile, so I’m not sure what happened there. She ordered Breakfast in a Roll, and while it was quite good, she was expecting more of a hot dog type roll that she would get in England. I got the Vegetarian Breakfast and enjoyed the toast and mushrooms, but didn’t care for the eggs, beans or the tomato(and I love tomatoes). I would definitely order something different next time. We split«The Arthur» pancake, which was amazing – Nutella makes everything better and it was our favorite thing by far. The service wasn’t bad, but it was pretty non-existent. You order at the counter, but everything is brought out to you and while it wasn’t exactly rude, it just seemed like neither server who brought our food cared. I know it’s the kind of place where you get your food and there’s no need for anyone to come back to the table really, but there was just something missing. I’d like to try high tea there sometime but I was discouraged by the 24 hour notice. There are several other places in town who do high tea daily and don’t require planning in advance. Final note, be prepared for street parking as there are just a few spots in front of the restaurant.
