Lylanda is an artist and a miracle worker! She gave me beautiful long hair after chemo. I look like I did before with only 4″ of natural hair. So much more comfortable than a hot wig in the summer. She is a super sweet lady to boot. I would recommend Lylanda to anyone.

Lylanda is the absolute BEST at Extensions. She totally transformed my short, over texturized haircut into gorgeous long hair with a Malaysian Weave. It looks so natural and has dimension now. I wish I would have done this sooner. I feel 10 pounds lighter and have my self confidence back. She’s an angel. I cannot say enough good things about her. Bonnie did a fantastic job with my color. Love these ladies.

Saw all these awesome reviews so I booked a same day appointment. Got there nobody was at the front but whatever finally my stylist came and said she will be with me shortly. Honestly I only waited 15min but I was 15min early so no biggie. She preceeds to do my hair and everything is going great once she finishes I check my hair out and its gorgeous. Get home and do a complete inspection and realize she didn’t sew in a whole portion of my head needless to say I WILLNEVERRETUNHEREAGAIN!!! 189.00 wasted and now I have to get my hair done all over again.

It truly makes me sad to post this review. I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. Everyone had been talking about these Dominican Blowouts to help with transitioning, so I decided to give it a try. As far as I know, this salon is the only one in Austin that specializes in these blowouts. I went to Marlin and loved my hair when she was done. It was beautiful & looked absolutely amazing. However, things soon changed leaving me with bitter disappointment & frustration. The 2nd time I went to Marlin, she was running 2 hours late. This was a major inconvenience, since I was coming on my lunch break. I just used PTO to make up the time and decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and let that on slide. After leaving my visit, I scheduled a 3rd appointment 2 wks out to have my hair blown out again. I received a call from Marlin literally the morning of my appointment saying that she would have to take me later, because she had to make room to squeeze in another client. I was so angry & frustrated because again– I had scheduled this appointment around my work schedule. My hair was getting frizzy and I desperately needed a blow out so I just agreed and accepted her apology. She guaranteed me that noting like this would ever happen again. The last straw was when I made another appointment 2 weeks in advance(On a Saturday this time). I was heading to New York for New Years to watch the ball drop. My appointment was scheduled so my hair could look nice and be manageable while traveling to Time Square. I wanted everything to be perfect. 3 days before my trip, Marlin texted me saying she could not see me until a week later because she had decided to take a trip to Alaska. I was furious!!! She left me royally screwed!!! My hair was a mess and I had absolutely know clue what I would do. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed and let done by a hairdresser. Luckily, my old hairdresser squeezed in room for me & did a sew-in. From thereon, I have been using sew-ins to transition. I would NEVER recommend such an unreliable & irresponsible hairdresser to anyone!!! To seal the deal, I called the owner in an attempt to report Marlin’s incompetence & was told that she would call me back. 1 week later… NOCALL. I made 2 other attempts and heard nothing. It has been over a month and the owner still has not called me back. This place is a joke & a disgrace. Please think before you come here. This is simply unacceptable & a lack of professionalism to the fullest extent!!!

I’m writing an update to my review on 8⁄22. I contacted one of the owners regarding my experience, she was very pleasant and offered a refund for the trim and color(which did not take completely). Honestly, I expected a full refund or an offer for a redo with a senior stylist at no charge, but I’m glad some concession was made. It was explained to me that senior stylists are available, although no one mentioned this when I called to schedule my original appointment. I was told the trim, perm, and temporary color would have been $ 150 with a senior stylist, which I feel is still over priced for the Austin market.

I had been trying to get a certain style for so long, but it never came out how I wanted it to when I let others do it. I decided to give this place a try and I am so glad I did! Lylanda really took the time to listen to what I was looking for and then achieved the style! This should have been been my first stop! I’ll be back!

Raymond Walker was the first person that cut my hair at Gabrielle’s. I ask for him every time now. He is one of the best at Gabrielle’s. Gabrielle’s in general is a really nice place to visit, but he made this one of my favorite destinations for a haircut in Austin. It’s clean, professional and most of all, one of Austin’s best hairdressers works here.

My hairdresser, Tanya Steele, is the absolute best!!! I do not mind making the 45 – 60 minute(depending on traffic) drive from San Marcos for her to do my hair. Tanya did a Keratin Treatment on my hair about 3 weeks ago, and even though it was pricey(for a grad student budget), I have never ever seen my hair look as good as it does now! I feel like I’ve already gotten my money’s worth and I haven’t even had it for one month. In addition, Tanya gave me the best haircut of my life!!! I get compliments on my hair EVERYWHERE I go. I never have to wait when I have an appointment… she gets me in and out of there(while still being thorough), and to top it off, Tanya is one of the funniest, kindest, most down to earth people I know. She can do any hair type, and I must add that I am an African American woman with naturally curly hair. Tanya is passionate about her work, and it shows. I know she is one of the best at what she does, and I highly highly recommend her! I promise, you will not regret it!

I had been looking for a Salon in the Austin area who could do ethnic hair and particularly blow outs and I found Tanya. She was referred to me through Unilocal.I started going to her right before Thanksgiving and have been going to her now since then. Not only is she knowledgable but there are various beauticians in the salon that are knowledgable on their craft. My fiancé’ and my son also go to the babershop here who also does an excellent job. I would recommend anyone to come here… very clean, reasonably priced and can take of anyone’s hair ethnic or otherwise… UPDATE: Went here right before my trip to Vegas to have my daughters hair done(cut/relax), my hair blown out(had to use a different beautician than my regular) and a mani/pedi…I ended up spending $ 90 for my daughters haircut/relax, $ 80 for my blowout and $ 80 for my mani/pedi…These prices were all rediculous so I am not sure if I will be going here again. All jobs were done great but I have gone other places that have done great as well for cheaper and less time…

How disappointing. Customer service is not a priority, for sure. Had a gift certificate that had expired only a few days prior and was told that there were no exceptions made. Seems like an odd policy, especially when the art of the salon business is getting new customers in the door so that you can establish a relationship for life — a lucrative long-term proposition. Not at Gabrielle’s.

My hairdresser Tanya Steele has relocated to Gabrielles Salon. Bear in mind, I am not a fan of anything north of the river. I was not too excited about visiting the salon, but Tanya does a fantastic job on my hair and has pretty much weaned me from chemical relaxers. Check out the Island Blowout! So, when I arrived at the salon, I was hyped that the Texas Rib Kings were next door. I have been meaning to check out their ribs, but I do not go to North Austin for ANYTHING. Anyway, I do like the concept of Gabrielle’s, it is a one stop shop for everything, I think during my next hair appointment, I plan on getting pedi and purchasing some of the Carol’s Daughter Bath Products that are sold in the salon. It is so refreshing as a African-American to visit a salon that has«our products» prominently displayed, rather than making that special trip to Sally’s or ordering from the Internet. As progressive as Austin likes to think they are, it is very exclusive to catering to the African-American populous. Love, love, love this place.

Lani is my hairstylist at Gabrielle’s Salon and Spa. SHEISAWESOME! She’s been doing my hair for about 2 years now. She’s now at Gabrielle’s for over a year now. When she washes your hair, she finishes with a head, shoulder and neck massage. Her cut cost is relatively comparable to Austin area salons. Gabrielle’s is a great concept. The hair stylists have their own pseudo-office space. There is a barbershop in the back, then an area for nail services. The spa area is on the other side of the building. The salon is very clean and everyone is really nice!

I’ve been there a couple times and all I can say is wow. Everyone there is so easy-going, accommodating, and friendly and on top of that, they do an excellent job. I’ve gotten my hair done twice(relaxers) and loved it both times. I recommend Gabrielle’s to my friends just as it was recommended to me. In terms of what the place looks like and what to expect, well, it looks well thought out and clean. When you first go in, there’s the receptionist and pay area, as well as a mini-store where I believe they sell the products they use. The salon is set up in a forked road kind of way in which down the first fork there are nail services, the spa area, and what I think is the barbershop area. Down the second fork are the separate stylists’ rooms. There’s not much more to say other than if you do make an appointment, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I decided to get a massage at Gabrielle’s on my day off and it was a delightful experience. They have so many packages available and the staff members go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. After my massage, they gave me water, a comfy robe and some time to sit in a quite room before I was ready to leave. This was greatly appreciated because a massage can be awkward if you don’t go often. It also doesn’t hurt that my massage therapist was a super hot guy. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name. I was so relaxed that it slipped my mind. Since they have salon services, I got my hair done there too. I saw Keisha, who specializes in natural hair care. She worked very quickly and my hair looked great. I’d go back to her again for sure.
