For pizza at a gas station, this was pretty excellent. And wow, what an excellent beer selection inside the station.

One of the top pizzas in town. The plain cheese pizza is so good that we always get two pizzas: cheese and something else. Plus they are super nice. Also the Valero has an excellent beer selection.

I don’t eat dairy. I decided to eat pizza. This place was the bomb!!! Granted, I haven’t had pizza in soo many years… but this tasted amazing. Like orgasm after every bite. How do I live without pizza in my life? The margarita was simple yet flavorful and definitely satisfied the craving. The ceaser salad was not as good as I would have hoped. Very light dressing that you could hardly taste it and it was orange? Best part — it’s in a gas station and easily accessible.

Giovanni’s is your go-to place for fresh, hot amazing pizza that won’t break the bank! I love their margherita and pepperoni! Don’t be tricked by the Valero gas station where it sits. You can call ahead for takeout or eat at a small covered patio outside.

Mediocre at best. Had a pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizza was just ok, and that was after dipping it in extra sauce. The salad seemed old. The Caesar dressing was red? The croutons were ok though. Probably won’t be back. Much better places in town.

What’s with all the good reviews? This is a gas-station pizza shop. I ordered it because I was in the mood for thin-crust pizza, and Unilocal told me Giovanni’s has good thin-crust pizza. Wrong. This pizza is hardly thin-crust. The pizza was doughy and nothing to write-home about. I also ordered a Greek salad which was absolutely awful. This included lots of cabbage and odd-tasting olives. Two stars is generous.

Pizza’s are perfectly cooked and well priced! It’s a small little pizza shop with pasta and salads. They make them fresh to order and are super friendly. They owners of the Valero gas station, where they are located on Barton skyway and Lamar, completely remodeled and have awesome choices. Highly recommend for great pizza and great service for under $ 15!

meh it was alright, nothing special really about it. I might go again, and I might not. It was just ok. I didn’t like that it was in a gas station.

This is another weekly staple and my favorite pizza in the area. I always get the margarita, so can’t speak to the rest, but it’s a nice and crispy, fairly thin crust. It is indeed in the Valero station, so call ahead and plan to take it home. If the weather is nice, there are some picnic tables outside. As an added bonus, this Valero has a fairly robust wine selection, so it’s a one stop shop!

one of the fantastic things about Austin is the random places where great food can be found. this one just so happens to be in a valero gas station(that also possesses a great selection of craft beers as well). we always get a pizza with jalapenos and garlic(half pepperoni also since i date a veggie person). crust is great and the ingredients always taste fresh. highly highly recommend for all your pizza needs(from a gas station).

Love pepperoni and garlic for my toppings, the crust is tasty, and everything is spot on. Better than most places I have been for traditional crusts.

I feel like I was thrown for a bit of a loop based on others high ratings. It was a decent tasting pie at best. The service however, was poor. I had ordered ahead and was left ungreeted, waiting outside the pick-up window for over 15 minutes as the staff literally stared at me. Another 10 minutes went by before I even received my card back and food. Not a good experience overall.

I’m pretty impressed with this pizza joint. Yes, it felt sketch going into a Valero to buy pizza, but this place is no joke. I bought their pizza by the slice: $ 3.50 for a HUGE slice with 2 toppings included, so I got mushrooms and basil. It came out quickly since their pizza by the slice is premade; they reheat the pizza with your requested toppings and put fresh cheese. The pizza was tasty and I absolutelyyyyy love the thin crust. My only gripe is that the pizza is, in fact, premade so it does not taste extremely fresh. But for the price, you get very good tasting pizza that is still many steps above other pizzas in Austin. And if you have objections with the premade, I suggest you still go and try a pie(which is freshly made but takes longer, naturally). In summary: go here if you want awesome pizza at an EXCELLENT price!

Currently my favorite pizza in Austin. I absolutely love it. It’s like amazing mall pizza that’s better than you’d expect and super cheap. The breakfast tacos are amazing too. You can really get it all here.

I used to tell my friends back up north that there’s no good pizza in Texas. That’s why people here in Austin called me a pizza snob.(Which is true.) BUT Giovanni’s changed my mind. Best pizza in South Austin. Period.

Pizza was good, a standard pie. But the true STAR of the show is the Stromboli. It was fabulous and by far my favorite. I’ll have to try the pasta next time.

My only complaint is that they aren’t open on Sundays! Best pizza in Austin. Great prices. Get the white pizza with sausage.

Where have you been my whole Austin life?! This pizza is exactly what I needed in my life and what you will need. Don’t drive around lost, pizza is inside the Valero and well worth it. The crust is the perfect amount of crispy and the taste of everything is just exceptional. I’ve found my new pizza. Did I mention I’m a pizza snob?

Stop driving by looking for the food trailer — it’s inside the Valero! So many times I drove by the sign that said Giovanni’s pizza and I would always look really hard for the food trailer by the Valero. It wasn’t until recently when I read they were inside the Valero. I decided to check this pizza stand out on my lunch break. I really had no idea all that was going on at this Valero. Giovanni’s was actually really busy too. People were consistently coming in to pick up their pizzas. I decided to order my usual pizza — pepperoni and pineapple. I was told it would take about 15 minutes to make. So I wandered the store and discovered the awesomeness of everything going on here. My pizza was ready and I took it over to the side of the building and sat on the covered deck. The pizza looked great! As I ate it I admired the crust. It was on the thin side, but not too thin. It was cooked well and all the way through. The sauce was on the lighter side for my liking, but still it was delicious! I loved the toppings were fresh and tasty too! With this place so close to my daily routine I will be back to try it again. I am absolutely a new fan of Giovanni’s!

Filler Up Make that filler up my car and my tummy. We wanted to fill our pizza craving tonight so I Unilocaled pizza places around the area. Interesting enough the one with the most stars and raves was Giovanni’s pizza located inside of a Valero. I called my husband and told him that I found a new place to try and not to question its location. Just follow the bouncing ball. When we pulled in I looked over to see a surprised look on his face. Valero it is. We found the pizza counter at the back of the store. A line of people picking up their pies and a stack of pizza boxes on the counter. Half veggie and half pepperoni and a house salad. Delish. We will definitely be back.

Pizza in a gas station… common. Good pizza in a gas station… anomaly. That’s a good thing because the pizza was worth it. I had my mom and sister over and I didn’t want to order any crap like Dominos or Pizza Hut. Then I saw Giovanni’s and I thought I give them a shot. I saw where they were located and it said a gas station. When you arrive they a patio on the side of the gas station. You order first inside where while you are at it you can buy some drinks, chips, etc. I ordered over the phone and I just picked up my pizza at the patio area. I had the Margherita Pizza and it was really good. You might as well get some gas while you are over there. Oh yeah, it’s located in a gas station.

NOTE: Yes, this is a counter inside a convenience store. I’ve never seen the owner not looking like the happiest pizza-maker in the whole world. I’ve never had a pizza here that I wouldn’t recommend highly to my best friend. They still offer pizza by the slice. Large slices. I believe $ 2 for cheese. There is never a long wait. There is now Wi-fi for the few minutes you may have to stand around, if you didn’t call ahead. There is an above-average beer and wine collection you can browse in the convenience store if you want to kill time a bit that way. But the reason for the updated review: There is now a gluten-free crust option, so now my wife can enjoy Giovanni’s. My last visit, I even ordered it without her just so I could make sure it was good enough. He partially bakes the GF crust alone so it can have more structural integrity. Then, he adds the topping(s) and bakes it the rest of the way. Giovanni’s GF pizza will have a crispier crust, but is proof that a pizza’s crust is often just the vessel that a great sauce and good toppings shine through. 4.8 stars

I won’t lie, picking my dinner up in a Valero was a bit disconcerting… but worth it! I’ve been having a difficult time finding good pizza in South Austin, but this place is great. They don’t do delivery, but the delivery I’ve had from other places around here has been spotty at best, so I’ve decided to give up the ghost on that anyway. Service was fast and the pizza was better than most in the area. It’s close enough that I don’t mind the pick up, although it is a tough intersection, so I think you might have to time it right depending on rush hour, etc. There are definitely eat-in only restaurants that do a better pie, but for take-out, I highly recommend this spot.

We happened upon this place years ago and every few months we just have to have our Giovanni’s Pizza fix. Don’t let it deceive you — it is located in a Valero. It’s actually a plus because the Valero itself is a pretty nice one. If you forget to call ahead and have to wait for them to finish your food, they’ve got a pretty nice(and huge) selection of wines, beers, etc to peruse and maybe have with your meal. Linguine Alfredo w/Chicken — what got me stuck on this dish was the garlic alfredo sauce. I really like garlic and it was so garlicky some may say it was too much but it was perfect to my taste. Over the last few times I’ve ordered it, it doesn’t seem as garlicky — but still good. The chicken, depending on the day, may be a little on the dry side. Also, I do add a little salt to the dish when I get home. But, all this said, I still think it is worth having every once and a while. Pizza — we usually order it pepperoni or meat lovers style. I’m actually impressed by their in house pizza. I don’t feel the bread is too thick or greasy. The meat lover’s comes w/a good amount of meat on top as well. It’s not gourmet pizza but it’s pretty good for a stand in a gas station, I’d rather order from here than those fast food pizza chains.

Never thought I’d say this, but Garage Station Pizza tastes pretty damn good! I was quite impressed with everything @ Giovanni’s. It was the perfect storm of quality food in an efficient and timely manner, well priced, and accommodating customer service. I’ve been wanting to try these guys out for a year now so I made the slight detour after a quickie @ the Barton Creek Mall and I was there in no-time. I could not find the place, driving back and forth, then I read the Unilocal Tips — — «inside Valero». Ahh, my bad. I look over the menu and everyone’s recommendation was the White Pie w/Sausage & Spinach. Wow, sounds nice, so I ask the guy for his feedback and he agrees. I like variety and didn’t want to overload on the alfredo sauce, so I asked if he could do half-n-half w/their veggie version(aka«4 Seasons») — - no problem! The jumped right on it and my pizza was out of the oven in about 15 minutes. It looked great, and he even asked me how crispy would I prefer the crust. He also wasn’t done with it just yet, they took the pizza to the stove where there was a saucepan containing hot alfredo sauce whipped up just for me. It smelled so good as he drizzled the hot alfredo over half of the pie. That’s a first for me — — I’ve seen alfredo used as a base as it goes on first but he said«no, this way is better». I was just glad they didn’t have a huge tub of old alfredo sauce w/a big ladle like those cafeterias and school luncheons do. I forgot to ask to add garlic — — no problem, he added it on for me and even asked if I wanted my hot pizza topped off w/fresh parmesan cheese instead of the grated — — hell yeah! More cheese please! What excellent customer service! I couldn’t resist and wait until I got home so I planted my ass on one of their picnic tables outside and gave it a shot — — oh my, it was superb! Tasted exceptionally well, piping hot, the alfredo was so creamy good and I loved the sausage. The 4 Seasons was also great, my veggies were piled up high as they don’t skimp on the good stuff here. The crust is thin and on the crispy side, it was just an overall great tasting pizza. Kudos for for being on this side of town but keeping their prices reasonable and comparable to the product they offer. I scanned through their flatscreen display to see pics of the pastas — — wow, they all looked so damn appetizing! He said they were very popular and gave me a couple of recommendations, it’s $ 8 for a good sized serving w/garlic bread which sounds perfect to me. I will definitely have to make my way back to Giovannis — — everything tasted so great and the customer service rocked!
