Gatti’s Pizza

I love this Mr. Gatti’s location!
I order for delivery while I work pretty often. The delivery guys are always super sweet and my pizza is always hot and exactly what I order. They never even forget my ranch — like pizza hut does every single time. The staff is super friendly and I recommend this pizza joint over the other pizza chains any day!

Extremely long delivery time. Pizza arrive fairly cool. Taste was pretty good considering but would mot recommend with all of the other pizza options in town

Well… lesson learned, I guess.
I placed an online order last night, got a confirmation, then 90 minutes later had to call the S Lamar location to find out where my wayward dinner had gone. The person that answered said he was personally the driver that had allegedly come to my apartment and that I wasn’t there, and that he’d called my cell multiple times.
Funny. I was on the couch with my laptop working on deadline the entire time. Never heard a knock, phone never rang once. Funnier still that my cellphone records clearly show not a single inbound call during that entire time, and that that number is listed on my delivery order. But… no. Driver Dude was insistent that he’d been here and called. Ok fine — talk to the manager. Manager backs up his Driver Dude 100 percent, which leads to a very strange sort of showdown — then he says… well I guess we can make you a new pizza but we’re really busy right now. I start to realize the manager is clearly from that school of The Customer Is Always Wrong. And that never ends well.
So funnier still, I go on their Facebook page and say, hey kids, bit confused about my no dinner and more confused why Manager Guy is saying I’m full of crap somehow about not being home (did I get abducted by aliens? nope, no missing time — no weird marks or burns, plus there’s that funny cold hard fact that my cellphone shows NO CALLS INBOUND during this time), and is now being passive-​aggressive about re-​sending my now quite late dinner, cause uh yeah they’re busy and stuff.
So then I get a message from their «social media» person who says — send the order details and what happened. Ok fair enough… sent that. No answer back. Maybe I’ll get an answer back Monday or next week or whenever. Maybe never. Who knows. In any case thank god for Thundercloud cause I drove over there and had a very yummy sammich with no attitude and nothing but a smile and a hey hope your dinner is good. And it was after that that I realized, maybe I am too old to be getting into fights with a pizzeria and I should just go get in the car and go to good old Thundercloud.
So, take this all for whatever. Nite.

Who cares about the pizza? Their driver is a psychopath. I live across from a school and the speed limit is 25. My kids were riding their bikes in the street when I saw a pick-​up crest the hill at about 50mph. I stepped out into the street just to slow him down and he gunned his truck at me! He didn’t slow down at all and almost hit me and one of my daughters. You probably don’t want this guy in your neighborhood.

Gotta Gatti — Plain & simple, crust is decent, they don’t chintz out on the toppings, are liberal with tasty sauce, and prices are fairly reasonable. Worth a try.

I like their large 3-​topping pizza deal. I have ordered a total of 3 times from Gatti’s Pizza in the past 3 weeks. I have not been disappointed in their servie– my food gets here faster than the time quote I am usually given. Cheese is extra tasty, and they always give me extra pizza sauce when I ask for it. I don’t have anything bad to say! =)

Good deals on medium pizzas and large pizzas.
Their ranch is delish as well.
I’ve never had a bad experience with mr gattis. They are always quick with delivery and it’s never cold or anything.
No complaints.

I’ve been eating Gattis pizzas my entire life, but we swore we’ll never give them another penny. The service is terrible, the price is too high for what you get, the salads are elderly and it just seems like they don’t care anymore. This can be a sign of a bad manager, which I’m hoping is the problem. I feel like a traitor for not loving Gattis anymore, but I’ve been so mad the last three times we’ve gotten ‘za from them that I’m just done. We’ll try again in 6 months or so, but for now we’re in the market for a new pizza place.

If you are what you eat, I’m probably still mostly Mr. Gatti’s Pizza since that was at least half of my meals when I was in high school. Every once and a while I have to feed the Gatti’s portion of myself, lest it will turn evil and destroy me.
Tonight I decided to indulge in a little double mushroom, Canadian bacon. Pizza arrived pretty quickly, though slightly cold, and my soda was slightly warm. Just like the good olé days. Oh no, the pizza used to be hotter and the crust used to be less hard. But the cheese is still smoked provolone and the mushrooms and Canadian bacon still tastes the same. Asi-​asi.

The sauce is pretty good. Pineapples were tasty. The regular crust was okay.
The margherita pizza was not nearly as good as the one with sauce.
I like that there’s an iPhone app so I don’t have to talk to anyone to place my order. Delivery was in a reasonable amount of time.

This was my first stop on my quest to find truly amazing Pizza in Austin. It was pretty good compared to the pizza back at home in LA but then I tried other pizza around Austin and it kinda fell short. All in all I like Gatti’s and I would order from them again, but I think I would order else where first.
However all that being said… I really love their commercials!

Always lukewarm, always dry and mediocre. I don’t know why I keep giving them chances. This time, it came almost two hours after I placed our order. The guy who took our order messed up the card number and they never bothered to call me, despite claiming they left me a voice mail. When I called, they re-​ran my card then had to re-​make and deliver the pizza. To their credit, it was half off, but still: Two hours for blah pizza.

I really want to hate this place. The crust is like cardboard. It has little holes perforating it, it doesn’t puff up, you can’t fold it… But I kind of like their sauce. I order the plain cheese pizza, since I don’t like this particular brand of pizza with toppings. Their delivery folks are always sweet and friendly. One time, when picking up an phoned in order, I was given a pizza with meat toppings. When informed that I was a vegetarian (and didn’t order that), they let my buddy who was driving keep the meat pizza, and his pizza, and made me a new one to my specifications. So they get extra stars for that. It’s not really pizza, but it’s a decent snack.
