This place is like stepping into a dream in which chipotles and starbucks never happened and instead you’re eating absolutely delicious home-style food in the company of nice people and great records. I wish I had come here sooner. Will support again and again.

I really really like this home style café. The dishes are homemade, light in salt and oil, and lots of healthy choices. The owner is friendly. Lots of vinyls in the café, you can even request the ones you want to listen. Some are for sale, but none of the one I asked. I’m not a pie person, but they truly have great pies here. The best part is, everything is so affordable. One of the two restaurants I ever leave 5 stars review.

This place is awesome! The food was great! Really good flavors and ingredients. And the price can’t be beat! It’s kind of like you’re stepping into his home kitchen with fun random things around. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because it was pretty cluttered and felt a little messy, but the food was a win! Great place to get food for a picnic. Great customer service too :)

Very homely and tasty. Everything they serve is delicious and fresh, but once you think about it, what you’re ordering is pretty much very tasty home-cooked leftovers. Which is fine by me because that’s what I’m eating most of the time, but for a restaurant, I just don’t see how it holds up. That being said, what I ordered there was absolutely delicious. I had the meatloaf, mac n’ cheese, mango and strawberry with basil salad, blackberry salad, country fried steak, beef tip stew on rice, polenta, and twice baked potatoes. If you’re a college student seeking homecooking, this is the place to go. $ 8 for an entrée and 2 sides that filled me up to about 70%, and a cookie that was absolutely delicious. The guys who work there are very nice and explain the day’s offerings quite patiently.

$ 8 get’s a great homestyle main with two sides. I got the Bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast with asparagus and caprese salad. This place is so chill and comfortable. The owner is also super friendly. I think I’ll become a regular. The signage is easy to miss though, which is unfortunate.

The only problem with this place is they’re too cheap and may not be able to stay in business. The food is all exceptionally good. Everyone’s nice. There is a table, but this is really a take-out place. It’s a local gem in the truest sense.

I’ve only ate here once but the concept and idea of the restaurant, not to mention the price is what I want to see more of in America. If you’re around UT, there is a huge possibility that you are a college student. You don’t want to be spending alot of money on food, and even if you do, you do not deserve to be served such mediocrity(taking about Guadalupe and west campus drag). This is homestyle cooking for a VERY cheap price. The food is well prepared and has high quality ingredients. It has to be warmed and is technically not made on the spot, but they know how to warm the food correctly(not cold in the center, not overcooked). I’ve also eaten at American restaurants that have none of these choices available here, if they served this type of food fresh they would be able to charge a much higher price at an actual restaurant. As a college student who appreciates good quality food and ingredients with the combined interest of saving money, this strikes the perfect balance. Decent price, delicious, nice ingredients, and healthy.

I really like this place. The food’s homemade and uniquely flavorful, and the guys who run it are very accommodating and personable. The whole place just feels like home. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Wow, amazing. Just had a fantastic spread of food for lunch, and it only cost about twenty dollars for two people. Every single item was amazing, I am definitely a fan.

Wow… this place was such a pleasant surprise! The place is a total hole in the wall and draws little to no attention to itself from the street, but don’t let that discourage you from trying it! Basically the food is all«home cooking» as per the gentleman behind the counter(I’m assuming he is the owner/operator.) The menu changes pretty often so each time you go, you can definitely try something new! Entrees are $ 5. Sides are $ 2. They also offer a plate meal($ 8) consisting of your choice of entrée and 2 sides. I tried the pork cutlet stuffed with sausage, onions, bell peppers and some type of cheese… really good. Yum! For the sides I snagged a baked sweet potato topped with some yogurt, curry sauce and mint chutney as well a fresh cut pineapple and blackberry salad. They have a few smaller goods for sale as well(empanadas, tamales, etc) that are $ 2.50 a piece and the flavors rotate as well. I had the southwest shrimp empanada today and it was great! This little gem has many options for the carnivores and herbivores alike. I’ll definitely be back to sample some more goods! And to top it all off, the staff are superbly friendly!

I’ve lived around the corner and never gone inside for two years, but since I’m moving tomorrow, I decided to take the plunge and check out a new place. I’m so glad I did, it felt like walking into my parents’ house — the records, the open kitchen, and the friendly service all made me feel right at home. The food is laid out for you to choose from, and it was such a hard decision! Especially with such a good price — entrees are $ 5 and sides are $ 2. I got a lunch plate for $ 8, which has two sides and an entrée. The stuffed bell pepper was really tasty, it had olives, beef, and rice. The Brussels sprouts had some kind of sweet sauce on them, and the pasta salad/ravioli tasted as though the pesto was fresh. At check-out time, I got a cookie for $ 1. It was chewy and awesome. In conclusion, even though I’m moving out of the UT ‘hood, I’m definitely coming back to Go Go Gourmet on the regular!

Called on my way over at closing time and he said he would stay open for me. Everything in the food case looked so fresh and delicious, it was hard deciding. Craig was enthusiastic about answering my dozens of questions about the food. Anyhow I ended up ordering a feast and can’t wait to go back! — Deviled eggs, 50 cents each, yum! — the dolma was perfect –Blueberry feta salad — the honey mustard and feta dressing was just right. All the produce fresh as could be. –Mango strawberry salad with basil, basil. Yes! — pesto pasta salad, tasted like homemade pesto. Wow! — tomato soup, it was the perfect amount chunky, not too creamy, with some kind of homemade croutons that were unexpectedly amazing! — salmon with tomato sauce was great — Broccoli cheese casserole– delish — cherry pie — could be the best I’ve ever had This place is so affordable, I think it would sense to buy meals from here for the week and skip the grocery store!

I want to like the place, but have had a few strange experiences. The owner who seems to be there often is talkative and shifty. The food is microwaved leftovers and the different dishes tend to be hit or miss. There is barely seating, so be prepared to take it to-go Ordered an iced coffee once and asked for cream. The young fellow behind the counter dropped the plastic cap of the cream container into my coffee, dug it out with his fingers and then gave me the coffee. Whatever, I say, I won’t be persnickety so I take the coffee and walk out. Turns out the cream was sour. I am sure that this was not a typical experience, but really the food is all simply re-heated and somehow they still make the process very slow, so 2 stars.

As an update to the previous review, the bar has since been remodeled so that it extends outward and you don’t need to lean forward. It’s a nice touch that makes the seating more comfortable, but also shows that they take customer feedback to heart. Super nice folks.

It’s a home away from home. This couple makes you feel like a guest in their home. Theres no rush here just hospitality and good food. Expect to talk and share a bit with them while they prepare your food and eat. Dining area is communal too so get ready to meet your neighbor. Food changes from day to day. Mains are $ 5.00 and included vegetarian, fish and meats. Sides are $ 2.00.

Don’t expect your meal to be ready quickly. This is an experience. Sit down. Enjoy yourself. You have stepped back in time. This place is Southern home cooking at its finest. Really great deal for a filling lunch, and so many amazing choices. Plenty of options for vegetarians, too.

You know when you feel like eating a home cooked meal but you don’t want to do any of the work involved? That’s me pretty much 90% of the time, so thank god for this place. Really cheap, too. I ate every last bite. Portabella mushroom cap, beet & apple salad and a twice baked potato were delicious. I also had a bite of a fantastic beef stroganoff(over potatoes! damn.). This restaurant deserves to be checked out.

A great little mom and pop shop with homemade food for a decent price. The owner is über friendly, perhaps a bit too friendly, but he knows his food and will give you suggestions if you ask. My suggesting is the Beet Salad! I could eat a whole plate of it, and may just do that some time. Each of the entrée’s I have had have been very good, and the people eating with me have enjoyed theirs too. The place isn’t huge, but it isn’t super busy either. Swing on in sometime and enjoy a quick bite! My 2 pennies
