Whoa whoa whoa!!! Don’t let the neighborhood fool you! It seems like GPS took me through«Gang Bangin in Little Rock» I was so nervous getting to this place! Surrounded by trap houses and bars on the window this buck shot joint stole a piece of my food heart today! The inside reminds you of cheers! From walking in, folks were friendly, staffers were walking around singing and having a good time! There are games and tvs throughout and most importantly it’s clean! To the food!!! Holy Mackerel, This food was AmaZing! I had low expectations but it completely blew my mind. The broccoli beer soup… heels to Jesus was perfection served in a bread bowl with a bread top! You guys I couldn’t help myself, I popped the top on that bread bowl and went IN! Broccoli cheesy soup infused with beer, damn right! I also had The Bacchus chicken sandwich was well marinated served with chips and a side of pickled veggies paired perfectly!

wow. been here dozens of times but after last night, never again. me and 3 friends walked in the door around 1130pm and the bartender IMMEDIATELY started yelling at us to order food at the bar and not even giving us a chance to sit down and let someone come to our table. then she kept insulting us and mocking us. after we ordered, we could hear her talking shit about us to the rest of the people at the bar.

Yup, trying a new sandwich was the answer. The Bacchus was amazing. Perfectly grilled chicken, great balance of toppings with a delicious Sambal mayo that blew me away. I have been craving one since our last visit! I’m glad I gave it another shot!

Gourmands oh Gourmands, what happened to you? Well, some of the people working here still seem to think they’re doing God’s work. The last time I was here I had a salad. I omitted the most $$ things on it and subbed 1 thing and was upcharged for the one thing I added, which is less expensive than the 2 – 3 things that I took off. Then got some serious attitude at check out. That or she’s not a Rhodes scholar. Either way, the food has gone downhill. The time before my friend and I were having a serious Jones for the Broccoli cheese soup. We both indulged and got the bread bowl. Man, what a disappointment. As soon as we received our soups and dipped our spoons in it, it came out as thin as water. It was like they literally stretched it out with water. Instead of just 86’ing the item, they chose to server a mediocre and substandard product. That’s just sad and pathetic. Oh yeah, I get it, I get it. You’re the too cool for school neighborhood pub. Yeah, it’s cool if you wanna have drinks, listen to their amazing jukebox and play games/hang out. Just don’t expect anything above that or you’ll be sorely disappointed.

You can park on the street or on premises parking lot albeit small. You walk in from the street facing front door which to me gives you the neighborhood feel to it. Once you are inside and your eyes adjust to the dim light and low ceilings you see many tables and booths to sit down and have a meal with a beer. There’s a fully stocked bar to the left as you walk in, a friendly reminder of what this place is about. It’s populated with several local craft beer. They had my favorite IPA from 512. The wait staff was quick to get us water and take our drink order. She came with a great big smile and friendly way about her. I don’t know her name but she was a blonde with some cool tattoos. My group of 5 ordered sandwiches of which I had the Secondly Deadly Sin and half of my wife’s Godfather. Big call-out to the pepperoncini relish! Everyone enjoyed their meal and experience there at this awesome neighborhood pub! Recommended

Sandwich Heaven. If you don’t like sandwiches, pickled veggies, funky yet kooky bartenders that keep you entertained, then this place isn’t for you! Its that down home feeling where everyone kind of knows everyone and the sandwiches just kick your ass. They’re HUGE. Depending on how hungry I am, i usually take one down and order one to go. The Orgy is my favorite. Dont be a wuss, and slather your Sammy with that yellow birds hot sauce so you know when your’re pooping out that goodness later, it burns so good. Good rotating cast of beers, ciders and more beer. If Wade works behind the bar, make him show your his hand tattoo tricks, hes a turkey sandwich for sure. Love ya bro!

East side dive with great sandwiches & homemade chips. I ordered The Orgy. Half the reason was just so I could say«I’ll have The Orgy please!» And it was an awesome pastrami with melted Swiss & coleslaw. And if you go, check out the house next door. There are geese in the front yard — like real ones.

Good place to socialize with friends meeting new people and having a good time. The drinks are good and the food is good as well. Try the Broccoli Beer cheese soup definitely worth it.

cute pub style place. apparently this used to be a discoteca of some sort. I wonder how many bailes were held here before it was no longer! Came in on a Friday night. We had already had dinner so just came for a few drinks. Cool atmosphere. I think my husband and I were the only«ethnic» people in the joint, but that was ok. I ordered the«i got screwed on Webberville» drink, delicious. The Paloma was so awful I couldnt stomach it or get it down. But in all fairness I am not a big fan of grapefruit juice and it was overpowering. I ordered it because I have had the same drink at La Condesa and it was my favorite. different strokes i guess. I would like to return and try a sandwhich… probably the pastrami side note: funky smell near the back of the place toward the arcade arch area.

Umm hello bread bowls! Tried out Gourmands today for lunch and sat on their quiet patio. Enjoyed a half Reuben and bowl of broccoli beer cheese soup. Holy cow y’all — can’t go wrong with either one! The soup though in that bread bowl makes me want to eat carbs for dayssss! Highly recommend. Also, had some spinach and artichoke dip to begin and also amazing!!! Great place for lunch! Also, good selection of beers and drinks with good happy hour :)

What a great(and super chill) place to grab a bite on the Eastside. A group of friends and I were heading to Hops and Grain for beers, but we wanted to eat on the way and chose Gourmand’s since it was so close! Loved the outdoor seating in back(perfect on a pretty day). Loved that the guys sitting next to us at the table let us play with their puppy for an hour! Loved that it had skee-ball inside. Loved that it had a ton of beers(a couple of my friends had brunch cocktails that they really enjoyed as well). The service was pretty good(our waitress was pretty busy with a lot of tables outside and got a couple of beer orders wrong — no big deal). They have a little parking lot, and some street parking as well. Only thing I’d need for a 5 star rating? Food quality. The sandwiches we tried were good, but nothing special — and I wish they had a few more vegetarian/pescatarian options! But I would definitely go to Gourmand’s again!

DAMN Tasty sandwiches! I had to put in an order of the broccoli cheese soup to go because that was pretty damn tasty! Staff was courteous without being obnoxious, it was all around a good experience. So much so that I wish we started there earlier!

Really good food– both of us loved our sandwiches(second deadly sin and orgy) and the chips were great as well. It was busy enough around noon to show that Gourmands is a popular place, but not too crowded that we couldn’t find good seating! The guys who work here are really nice and very hospitable. Not only that, our food took less than 10 mins to get to our table. Hands down, great place for lunch. I’d definitely recommend it.

This is my first Unilocal review ever. I don’t like Unilocal because I am an adult and a man and if I have an issue In a bar or restaurant I will address it in person. I come here atleast once a week and I love it. And here is why: Friendly staff. Mikey, Carlos, Tyson, etc are very hospitable. The bartender, wade, is amazing. He is down to earth. And I personally like that In a bartender. No sugar coated bs. I come in, as many others do, and he knows exactly what we want. Consistently. He knows how to treat his regulars and treat non regulars. Not once have I ever seen or heard him be a «douche» to anyone. I honestly come back to this place for two reasons; the awesome food, and because of wade. Good people, good food, good business. Five stars all day long.

I wish Unilocal would let me review the asshole costomer, hank b., i witnessed at the bar that is afraid of a bee while he drinks a pitcher of margaritas on the patio.

First time here. Would’ve been a perfect 5 if not for the rude as hell bartender standing in front of a chalkboard emblazoned with the words«be nice. No jerks!» Not coming back at least when this douche is working.

If Gourmands were closer to my house, I would probably wear out my welcome. Customers are always greeted warmly upon entering, and the laid-back vibe and friendly servers help add to that comfort. As far as the food — I can’t recommend the broccoli beer cheese soup enough. The bread bowl is flaky and crisp on the outside with a warm doughy inside — it’s simply perfection, baked. The soup itself is thick and rich and if I keep typing I may have to just finish this prematurely and go get it right now. There are hundreds of individual dishes that I love from restaurants around town, but I don’t think about them as much as I do this soup for some reason — and most of them don’t cost a mere $ 5, either. I’d be stupid if I failed to mention the sandwiches — I have not had one that I would consider a ‘decent sandwich.’ Every sandwich I have had has been many steps above. This is not your average deli/sandwich shop, folks. Thoughtful combinations, excellent bread, and consistent. That’s probably the most important part of any restaurant — consistency. Gourmands has never failed me with their food or their hospitality. To say I love the place would be an understatement. One day I hope to be able to walk in and be greeted Norm/Cheer’s-style as I sit and eat all day, hopefully not wearing out my welcome in the process. Recommended: broccoli beer cheese soup, Godfather sandwich, Cleopatra sandwich

Still the best, we usually go every Sunday for the breakfast sandwich and bloody Mary’s. Why did ya’ll get rid of the sourdough bread on the breakfast sandwich? :( Why fix something that ain’t broke?

Excellent Sandwiches, soups, and beers. Lots of bar games and tabletop games. The Godfather was excellent! The chips and queso are superb. The highlight of my dining had to be the notice that they serve 32 ounce Guinness… Awesome! Definitely a place that everyone must try. Why only four stars? They lost me when they turned off the music and started blaring sportsball over all of the speakers… :-(

This place is Great! Real, old-school neighborhood bar feel. Skeeball in the back, patio, very open and fun. Everyone was really friendly and have a ‘take care of the customer’ attitude. Good selection of Vegetarian items and the food is huge! Go there with an appetite. Will definitely be the every Friday lunch spot.

This place is one of the biggest perks to living on the eastside. A chill neighborhood bar with excellent prices, delicious sandwiches, and great drinks/beer. They used to have pool tables, but have since swapped them out for — skeeball machines! So color me happy because I much prefer those. TVs all around the building showing all your favorite sports teams as well. And there is an excellent backyard area if you prefer the company of the open sky and fresh air. I like the staff here as well. I found them to be friendly and accommodating each time I’ve visited. We usually meet friends here if we don’t want to leave the neighborhood OR spend a ton of money. In fact, my boyfriend tends to come here fairly often for lunch. Be sure to check out their sandwich specials! They have some tasty ones each day and their happy hour is one of the best in town.

Gourmands is a no frills pub where you come hang out with friends and if you don’t have any, the employees become your friends. After cycling back from ACL late on a Sunday night, all I wanted was food, shower, and sleep. Gourmands was less than a 3 minute drive away from where I was staying and still open at 11pm, so I hop over, rack my brain at the menu, and order with the bartender. Fast forward a couple minutes, and I have an Orgy in front of me — think Reuben with pastrami instead of corned beef, ya li’l perv. The sandwich came with pickled vegetables and potato chips. The sandwich was pretty good — the sandwich wasn’t covered in cheese or drenched with sauce, which is a nice reprieve from the ridiculously heavy Reubens that I’ve eaten. The pickled veg is pretty addictive, as are the chips — perfect complements with the sandwich. Service here is pretty remarkable — I was reading a book while I ate, and the bartender actually asked what I was reading(Mindy Kaling’s first book… I was a little embarrassed because this bartender looked way cooler than me), and we were actually able to hold a conversation about books!(In case you were wondering, he was reading A Confederacy of Dunces, which I’ve heard fantastic things about.) If I lived in East Austin, Gourmands would be my go-to spot to chill with friends or grab a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere is far from pretentious, which makes it just a really comfortable place to be.

This place was alright. I don’t get the 4.5 star love. Folks rave about the sandwiches, but the highlight of my meal was the beer cheese soup. The pickles and chips were good too. If I could do this one over, I would’ve ordered just that. No sandwich.

Let’s go for a ride to a place off east 7& webberville. The name Gourmads and the food good. I’m not one who’s afraid of trying different or new things within reason. You do you is what I say because whether I like you or what you do will never carry the weight that you have of self. I’m going somewhere hold ya damn horses. Like most of my reviews I ran late on this one. I was thrilled in the summer of 2013 reading reviews and looking at pictures. I was like man what a cool looking place. I took a chance and went on in and continue to support their establishment to this day. October 2013 I took a coworker with me. The first thing he says as we pulled up is hey I used to bar hop over here. Remember 2 paragraphs ago I said you do you etcetera? I never told him how the ladies dressed or how the inside look. He’s 20 years my senior at least, you should have seen his face. I recall our waitress and her fishnet stockings being a constant topic(and he still talks about it). He was actually nervous being there. Lmao! Anyway he ordered the Arnold Ruben and I got my staple the Godfather. Both great sandwiches, the homemade chips are good. I have to say they do a great pickled salad, nice treat. I have bought my Wife soup in a bread bowl and the goddess sandwich. She enjoyed it and said her coworkers drooled as she ate. Gourmads is a cool spot for homemade eats, a local dive with a metropolitan vibe.

Went with some friends to have dinner and drinks. The setting of the place is perfect for a casual dinner with some excellent food and a great drink selection. We started off the night with chips and queso/salsa. We got the happy our special so it was half off. Definitely worth it. The cheese dip was well done and the salsa was very fresh. It was a perfect compliment for our beers. For dinner, I ordered the Foghorn Leghorn. It was decent chicken salad, but I wish there was a little more to it. However, the sandwich came with pickled vegetables that took the sandwich to the next level. The homemade chips that also came with it were very tasty. My friends both got the Bacchus and absolutely loved it. The chicken was super moist and the ingredients perfectly complimented each other. My only complaint about this place is the service. Looking a reviews before going, I was prepared for less than amazing service. However, I realized other reviewers were not exaggerating. The service is awful. The burned out waitresses were so low energy and were very inattentive(water was self serve so we at least made sure our glasses were full). The icing on the cake though was when the waitress was coming around taking the umbrellas out of the tables(we were eating outside), and literally went between us while we were eating, pulled out the umbrella, and had this brown much go all over our table. She said absolutely nothing and just kept going with her task. At least a «sorry» or some kind of acknowledgement would have been nice. Final thoughts: definitely check this out if you want a casual night out of food and drinking with friends. Expect less than stellar service and you’ll be good to go.

Ever wish you hometown neighborhood dive bar would uproot itself and move to your new city? Well, that didn’t quit happen, but pretty close. Gourmands was started by a couple of Tucson locals that were inspired by their favorite dive bar(Bison Witches) –and as a former Bison regular I couldn’t be happier. From the soup in bread bowls, to awesome sandwiches, cheap beer, spicy micheladas. this place is hitting on all cylinders. We ordered their second deadly sin, chips/queso and phily. All were great and came with some solid home made potato chips. Their happy hours on Fridays also start at 11am… enough said. We will becoming back. Hopefully next time it won’t be raining so we can enjoy their awesome backyard.

I had came here because we were looking to try something different. We came in for a late lunch on our day off and I got the turkey sandwich(Second Deadly Sin) and the boyfriend got some ham and cheese sandwich. I love that this place serves sprouts on their sandwich! YES! Why doesn’t everyone serve sprouts on their sandwich. The fried potato chips on the side were also good, crisp, and well seasoned. They also have this local hot sauce that I could NOT get enough of. I literally ate it with every bite of my sandwich because… for whatever reason, I wanted some spice on my sammy that day. This is a nice divey place and definitely a good place to come check out. The sandwiches were solid and I can’t wait to come back!
