If you are visiting from out of town and love the city of Austin you are going to want to hunt down this mural and snap a shot with it. Be careful! To get the full view of the mural you will have to step into the middle of the street. Luckily, traffic isn’t very heavy but keep an eye out.

Quirky and understated the way I hear old timers talk about Austin before all the luxury apartments and Crossfit studios and SODOSOPA type buildings popped up. I came here on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon and there was a line of people taking turns posing for selfies.

This place is on the south side of Austin. Not in the best neighborhood but still something you need to see. Go during the day because the lighting is better.

A must see! Don’t have crazy high hopes it really is just a wall, but if you’re looking for that insta look no further than the Postcard Mural, take your pic and then keep walking you’ll eventually hit South Congress.

I recently visited the Houston version of this Post Card rendition, and did not realize that it was a copy of the Austin version. I’ve seen this on many people’s facebook profile pictures, and it wasn’t until recently, that I realized Unilocal had a posting for it, and more importantly an address so I could track it down and take a picture of it. It’s on the wall of a local business. There is a lot of street parking, and for the most part people just park, get out, pose by the picture and move along their way. Just a unique photo op, that you should do at least once while in Austin.

Greetings from Austin! It’s the famous Austin Postcard Mural! This is one of the more popular murals you’ll find in Austin and this review is basically for all those hunting to find this historic and beloved mural. It is actually located around the corner of the Roadhouse Relics store on its south wall and also the next door neighbor to La Patisserie. One thing you’ll notice taking the photo is that the top left corner of the postcard says«copyright 2013» because the mural recently underwent a restoration project in 2013 that gave this work of art a nice facelift. The colors are much more vibrant and so now is the perfect time to snap those photo-ops! Tip: To get the entire mural you need to step into Annie Street but because its on a busy intersection, look both ways because cars are always turning onto Annie.
