Great people and great products! Every time I see them at an art show, I want to buy a few more pieces for my collection. They really do a great job capturing each location in a very unique way.

I can’t say enough good things about South Austin Gallery. They have a ton of cool vintage frames to choose from in all sorts of styles & sizes. They’re sure to do an excellent job framing and matting all of your art treasures and they are located in a convenient, central location. They also sell some Austin-inspired prints, cutting boards, coasters and photography-all done by local artists. I’m sure the girls who work there are probably tired of seeing me all the time(even though you couldn’t tell by how sweet they always are) and I can usually get pretty particular with what I am looking for and/or how I want the finished product to look. The employees always offer help & suggestions and are extremely patient with my slow decision making. I would say 75% of the art hanging in my house was framed at South Austin Gallery and it makes for some seriously interesting, beautiful and ultimately unique pieces! I promise, this little gem is an excellent find– you won’t be disappointed!

I met Jennifer earlier today at Fremont CA Art & Wine Festival. She was full of enthusiasm, proud of the quality of the products she had on display. Each cutting board had a story. Wishing you success!

What a sweet spot! Everything you need for your out of town guests and those who live here too! I’m 36 years in Austin and found this little gem, by chance a couple of weeks ago. I bought coasters with cork bottoms and pictures of Austin on top. My friends bought wall hangings. I love our pretty clerk who checked us out and the subtlety of this shop. Quintessential Austin. something I thought was lost for good… not yet… not yet.

I love getting things framed from here because it is SOOO close to my house and they are so affordable! The frames are all vintage and you can pick out a frame along with a matte. If you have some things worth framing don’t waste your time anywhere else. This is the most affordable place for getting your important things framed!

I completely adore this company! They were a vendor at Grapefest over the weekend in Grapevine. Fun photos of iconic restaurants and landmarks in Texas and they put them on coasters and even cutting boards! This would make an excellent gift for friends and family. What a creative way of capturing well loved spots all over Texas! Joe T Garcias, Deep Ellum, South by Southwest, Katy Trail in Dallas just to name a few! I can’t wait to order a few coasters off of the website! Beautiful work! Just wanted to share the love!

What an Austin gem. I met Robert Plant in here, really. That does not influence my rating… much ;) My house is filled with cool art in funky frames, thanks to South Austin Gallery. They had the novel idea of finding used and old frames and matting and framing art for relatively cheap. I once paid $ 200+ to frame a piece of art at Michael’s — NEVERAGAIN! You supply the art, they work with you to pick out an awesome used frame and then you pick it up in a week or two. They have taken on specialty work, framing a huge piece of art for us that now hangs in our bedroom. The owners are young, creative and very friendly. For an average sized poster frame, you can walk out here for under $ 40. You are welcome.

Do not buy their coasters! I bought a set of 4 from a booth on S. Congress and within a week, two of them are chipped are the corners already. I would’t normally complain if I have only paid a few bucks, but I paid $ 35 for the set!!! You would expect a durable product at that price. The photography on the coasters is marginal at best. I’ve seen better looking coasters around town.

I saw some delightful prints of Austin at the Sunday farmer’s market a few weeks ago, but they didn’t have the size I wanted. The lady at the market was really nice and told me to drive to the gallery to get a larger size. Perfect. Awesome. My husband and I drove clear across town and walked through the door – apparently interrupting some private reverie between the female shopkeeper and some dude. I began browsing the small gallery and and the two proprietors carried on a sotto voce conversation without once greeting us. It was just plain weird. My husband approached them to ask a question, and he was ignored. He could have interrupted, but to what end? At that point I had bad associations with the print I wanted to buy, and didn’t want to go through with it. We left – also without being acknowledged. I’m not someone who enjoys being fawned on pestered when I go to a store, but to be actively unfriendly? A simple«Hey, welcome. Here’s a cool fact about our stuff. Let us know if you have any questions» is more than sufficient. Proceed with your conversation, but at a normal volume so I know you’re not talking about how ugly and touristy I am or something. So in short, they have some good stuff, their farmer’s market lady was nice, but the people at the gallery sucked.

Stopped in here while waiting for a table at Bouldin Creek. What a cool place! This place sells coasters, cutting boards, and art. The products are all featuring Austin’s hot spots. I bought a cutting board for a friend’s birthday. This place is a great place to grab a gift for someone or for yourself.

Driving around South Austin I noticed the gallery and saw that they do framing. I decided to stop in because I’d rather support local than have to endure Michael’s or god forbid, Hobby Lobby. I was surprised that they do salvage frames, what a cool concept! The owner was super friendly, offered up a number of ideas and had the work done quickly. The piece ended up so much more meaningful as it not only looked like it had history, it DID have history. I’m delighted with the frame and will have all of my work done here from now on!

My husband, my 2-year old, and myself had an awesome time at our photo booth session at the South Austin Gallery. Jennifer was so great — she had us relaxed and having fun in front of the camera in no time! The pics turned out AMAZING! We couldn’t be happier — definitely worth the time and money — we’ll be back for sure!

My husband and I along with my 6 month old daughter had a blast at our JJWorldStudio photo shoot. The entire experience was relaxing and comfortable. The studio was filled with laughter and playfullness. The pictures are incredible and we have received so many great comments on them. It was not only a fun experience but a great way to capture lasting memories of my family for a great price! Thanks!

I was walking down S. 1st when I came upon this little treasure. S. Austin Gallery carries an assortment of things from Photography, Vintage clothing, and vinyl!!! The photography is great and affordable. The owners actually take all the pictures themselves and offer a variety of sizes. The photo’s of Austin are my favorite. I bought one for a gift and my girlfriend hung it up right away. The owners were very friendly! They also had great music playing which offered a wonderful atmosphere to shop in!

1st. I will have to admit I am a Thrift Junkie looking for a bargain, so when I stumbled upon this eclectic little blue Gallery, I felt like a hipster in a vintage shop! Than It hit me… $&@!, I am a hipster in a vintage shop! The selection of vintage clothing was so well priced, I thought I was looking at the tags wrong. The walls were covered with these peerless photo’s that one of the owners explained were all taken around the world by her and her husband… and If thats not enough to feed us Hippie-Snarksters, they also have a persnickety vinyl collection. I highly recommend stopping in to take a peek along your South 1st ventures. I would also encourage the owners to continue to keep their prices affordable :) …we have enough over priced shops around town to brake the fellow struggling artist! Will def. be checking in with you often! — Lotty
