Hobby Lobby

I do frequent the store because it is close to my house and I have just purchased a home. I have had experiences with sub par customer service but not enough to deter me away from shopping there. Last night the Assistant Manager Michael M. was extremely helpful and very patient with my needs in the framing department. Even though he was the only manager there and had lots of departments to cover with being several staff short, he still really took the time to help us out.
I really appreciate it Michael.

Pick another location, or craft store. You will spend a lot of time in line. Woefully understaffed, especially during lunch hours. I spent 15 minutes in line and had to leave before I was checked out. It was not crowded, but in 15 minutes only one customer was lucky enough to get checked out.

Great service in a clean and well-​organized store with friendly employees. And low prices — use the online coupon!

I agree with everyone’s reviews. The customer service is insanely terrible. You really have to pay attention to sales because they don’t come up automatically; the cashier must memorize the sales each week leaving tons of room for error. I hate having to point out their mistakes. I only shop here for fabric which I can’t get elsewhere. Otherwise it’s Homegoods or Michaels.

Hobby Lobby has just about anything you would need for arts & crafts. It can be a little difficult to navigate the huge store to find what you are looking for — and staff is always in short supply — but they do have a wide selection of ready made crafts for décor. I like how they display finished projects at the beginning and end of the components aisles for each craft. Prices are higher than some other craft stores, but they have more finished crafts to purchase.

Horrific service. It’s taken me a while to write about this. My experience occurred last spring.
I went there to purchase some yarn with my mom. it was ten minutes until closing when we were checking out. After we paid I realized we didn’t get a discount on some of the items and I went back to the cashier. She told me to go to the other cashier for assistance. I showed the other cashier the issue, and she said that if it didn’t ring up at a discounted price then it must not be on sale. She turned to the manager and asked about it and he just shrugged his shoulders. I walked to the isle with the items and took a picture of the sale sign and showed it to the cashier. At that time no one was in line. She appeared to be annoyed and turned to the other cashier and complained about it being almost closing time. At that point someone else came in line and she asked me and my mom to step aside and she will help us later. I told her I’m sorry but we were in line first. All the while the other cashier was just rolling her eyes at us, and the manager was standing there and doing absolutely nothing. The cashier told us to let her ring the other lady up so she can assist us. So we waited. Once she started working on the situation she started complaining about it being closing time again… it was awful, rude, and uncalled for. I will never shop there again.

Lousy customer service for the most part, though there are some very nice employees here. Lines are always long for check out and there always seems to be a few employees hanging out around the front making their own deals evidently. They can open the register for themselves but not for the customers waiting in long lines. No I will not give them my ZIP Code. Wish there were a Michael’s close by.

Most HobbyLobbys have interesting staff. The store is usually full of customers and the cashiers are usually young. To be honest, most HobbyLobbys’ are the same but some are bigger than others. I prefer not to go to the North Austin location because the atmosphere for myself is unwelcoming.

True story. Horrible customer service. I walked in with a tin container that I already owned to see if they had something similar. The cashier didn’t even allow me to ask any questions, as I was about to, she interupted and told me to go to another line for returns. That seemed like a harmless mistake. There was another worker standing in that line next to a MANAGER and I said, «excuse me, do you happen to know if you have any other tins that look like this?» She pointed to the row along the wall and said to check there, if they weren’t there, she preceded to point to the entire store and say, «it’s somewhere in there.» Have you ever been to this Hobby Lobby?!? «In there» was going to take quite a bit of time. The manager just stood there listening and didn’t say anything. It was so annoying. Won’t be back to that store again.

Customer service is horrible, if you need help good luck, but cheap art supplies if you get a coupon off the Retail Me Not App!

I hate the vibe of this store, and I hate their corporate politics. Screw Hobby Lobby! Jerry’s Artarama is awesome.

I have always been a fan of Hobby Lobby but this store just won me over. Today I was in line behind two people; one of whom had a return and another who was paying for a special order. I was probably in line less than 5 minutes and was sent to a shorter line to check out. Upon completing my purchase and heading for the door the first cashier, cashier I was sent to, and the manager all apologized for the «long» wait. I wasn’t bother by the wait at all but was impressed that the store was concerned.

I always loved Hobby Lobby being a crafty person! This Hobby Lobby blew me out of the water!
They had everything with well marked aisles and super organized store layout!
They even had home décor items! Thank you Hobby Lobby you made it possible for the kids craft to happen at my works movie night!

Hobby Lobby is a fun place to go, if you like Arts & crafts. Nice place to go to.

I used to come in here to gather supplies for little projects and creative presents. But the employees are rude rude rude. Plus, I think the company is BS for their lawsuit fighting certain forms of birth control for their female employees. When they begin to respect the healthcare choices women should be able to make for themselves (and stop being rude, if that ever happens), I MIGHT come back. In the mean time, I like Michael’s and Jo-Ann’s just fine.

In a nutshell, they have a wide variety of products at reasonable prices. But their checkout process is antiquated and slow. And yeah, staff don’t seem too enthusiastic about helping customers. I’ll keep going back for their products, but I always have to make sure I have plenty of time to spend in line. Yikes!

With Christian paraphernalia around every corner, and creepy customers that say weird stuff to you and don’t leave you alone, and a cashier who is rude to people who do not want plastic bags because they, you know, pollute the environment and do not biodegrade, this place is not somewhere I will be visiting again. Their only saving grace is that they are less expensive than Jo-​Ann Fabrics. Worth it? No.

Hobby Lobby contains baskets, floral, ribbons, ceramics, framing, and decorations. You can also find stencils, rubber stamps, stickers, paints, wedding favors, and lots more. HB is a crafter’s haven. I purchased a lot of my wedding decorations from here and I was able to get some great discounts. Note to the shopper: review sales ads online weekly for great deals. Closed on Sundays.
