My favorite thing about Hunan Ranch is that I know I’m always going to have a good experience. My husband and I have been going there for about four years, and it’s never been dirty, the food has always been quite good, the service has always been excellent, and I’ve never felt sick after eating there. The waitstaff deserve a special nod. They could teach classes on how to deliver excellent customer service.(Some other area businesses could certainly use them!) I’ve worked as a waitress, and it can be a demanding job. The men here(it’s usually two men when we’ve been there) are AMAZING. The vegetarian options on the menu are limited, but the staff have been great about letting me substitute tofu for chicken in various dishes. The tofo lo mein is lovely, and the sesame tofu is fantastic!

I used to live in Cedar Park and would eat here all the time. Now I live in Kyle and drive all the way up just to eat the egg foo young(not on the menu). Friendly staff. Excellent food.

Avoid it at any cost if you are vegetarian. Tofu fried rice is just tofu no rice same with noodles. Not sure how other ppl like it. Will never go back…

All the times I have been here the food came out really well! Love how they cut the chicken in thin small pieces and full of flavor. The food comes out fast but cooked to profession! Will certainly be back to try more dishes!

Yummy! This is our go to place when we want to have good Lo mein noodles and great fried rice. Their sesame chicken is pretty good too. So far, so good…

The sesame chicken was alright and kung paid shrimp was ok too but a bit salty and the fried rice was way too salty with too much soy sauce. Service was ok. Nothing to shout about. Just ok. Restaurant was clean but not the bathroom.

The food was pretty good and arrived at our table pretty quickly. The restaurant was nice but uncomfortably warm. It was a very nice day out so I’m not sure why they had the heat cranked up to 76+ degrees with a kitchen cooking hot food. I’ll probably order elsewhere or order delivery in the future.

Not sure what happened to this place. Food in the past was always good. Now it is terrible! Pork fried rice now on two occasions tastes burnt and sesame chicken is not great. Will not go back again

I would this is a decent spot for those nights you’re craving Chinese. My friend and I walked in on a Monday night and there were only a few other patrons there. The food was delivered promptly and our server was attentive. The steamed dumplings were served lukewarm-slightly chilled, but we were so hungry that we inhaled them. The Kung Pao Chicken($ 10) was delicious but it did have a high sodium content in comparison to the Curry Chicken($ 10) which was a little bland but good with a pinch of salt added. One thing that knocked off a star was that they charge for tea. I suppose I’m used to it being complimentary, as it is very typical for Asian restaurants to offer it at no charge. They actually charged us for 2 orders of it, which really annoyed me. I mean, you’re only adding hot water to the tea bags that were already in the pot… I’ll return due to the convenient location and the easy parking lot, but definitely won’t be ordering any tea.

This is my new fave Chinese Restaurant. Let’s start with the ambiance, first impression is CLEAN, nicely decorated, feels good be here… started with the egg roll – worth the $ 1.49, delicious. My boyfriend got the Hot & Sour Soup, he says it’s good… not his favorite but it’s in the top 5. He also orders the Chicken and Broccoli spicy, he loves it and it really is a good amount of food for the price. it’s also the good quality of chicken, white, no fat, just good chicken(hard to find that at other Chinese food places). I ordered the Sesame Tofu, outstanding. head nods of approval with every bite. Even though I’m a Vegetarian, I’m not always the biggest fan of Tofu, but they know what they’re doing! And my God it’s enough food to feed three people. for only $ 9. The food was incredibly fresh, very hot, these people know what they’re doing. Service is great, I’m very happy to be here. Thanks Hunan Ranch!

First off, I’m a vegetarian. Received what I ordered, yay! That means they understood what my demand was. Ready for pickup in the usually 15 – 20 mins. Food Quality: Fantastic, very saucy and just tasted really well. Serving Size: Ordered for pickup 6 items for 6 people. One order of Veg Lomein can serve about 1.5 Adults; 2 orders for 3 people would’ve been plenty. The other vegees and rice dishes are good for 1 person. Definitely ordering from here again for good Chinese food.

Got a small order To Go as I headed out of town. Once in my car, I was surprised to find no utensils or sauces in my bag. Then I tasted my food. Quite possibly the WORST hot & sour soup I’ve ever had and my egg roll was a barely warm, greasy mess. When I went back into Hunan Ranch to get utensils there was no apology… In fact the lady was rude and said«We don’t give out utensils during our dinner rush»… OK??? NEVERGOINGBACK. I’ll drive a little farther and go to Four Seasons in Wells Branch… They have amazing good, fresh to order and so much cheaper.

Just got food delivered from Hunan Ranch after a bad experience at Hot Wok Café. I’m glad I made the switch. The food was spectacular. Delivery was made quick and the delivery driver was super friendly too. He earned a fat tip with the fast delivery! Schezuan Fish with the noodles knocked it out of the park. Simply awesome. Tasty tasty tasty!

3.5 stars. High quality ingredients at a reasonable price Americanize Chinese food. Ordering was quick and easy. I like the high ratio of vegetable to meat. The restaurant is always bustling and clean. We had shrimp stir fry and chicken and broccoli memorable recently. Nothing memorable, just a good place if you are nearby and want a decent meal at reasonable prices.

This place has amazing kung-pao beef. It’s everything I want it to be. It always comes out hot although dishes sometimes come out for one person before another. I guess that’s why they’ve always been piping hot when delivered to the table. A big bonus for me(and vegetarians) they don’t use chicken stock in their sauces. The beef is tender, the veggies are cooked properly and the sauce is spot on! I’m not in to soups and egg rolls so I swap those for extra rice when I come for lunch, which has never been a problem.

There is a lot of great little Chinese places in the Austin area. This is a great place for lunch. Good lunch specials, and good food. I have enjoyed the won-ton soup, the lo-mien, and the Sesame chicken. The wait staff is also very friendly and fun.

I love trying new restaurants/food, but I always have a go-to meal just in case… if its Italian — fettucine; diner — steak and eggs, etc. For Chinese, its General Tso’s(or Egg Foo Yung). Those are dishes that I know what they are«supposed» to look and taste like, so just in case… Hunan Ranch. New to area, too lazy to cook, and honestly, why not? The missus called it in and away we go for pickup. First impression — Big Restaurant(sorta busy). Super Busy Takeout(I walked in 6th in line — and a woman came in for sushi while we waited). That dear readers usually means good things… Got the food and went back home. The food — sesame chix/white meat, general tso, fried rice(x2), egg rolls(with extra egg rolls) and egg drop soup. The missus loved the soup, rice and egg rolls but the chix was«caramelly tasting». I thought the Tso was soggy — granted, I got to the restaurant when told(15 mins) but I assume the food sat waiting for me(darn!) and like the missus, the rice and egg roll(no soup) was good. WARNING — the portions were HUGE! I mean full meal and full lunch next day. So is this our newest food crush — No. BUT… it is a compromise for when we want Chinese food from 1 place(she loves Snowpea; I love China Café)
