Worse experience ever! I’ve never had to do anything when I go get my eyebrows done. Usually they thread your eyebrows, trim any extra hair, and even pluck out the ones that did not come off. Here she doesn’t do anything extra but yet she charges $ 15 just to do your eyebrows and you have to brush off all the hair that was taken off and clean your face.

Sloppy. Sloppy. SLOPPY! I’ve been getting threaded for nearly a decade and have never had a worse job than this. She took 2 minutes to run a thread over me, leaving a patch of stray hair under one brow. She didn’t bother to clean up or trim whatever she didn’t thread. She was hasty and rushed and did not even really give me a chance to check out what she’d done before rushing me out yet she still she charged me $ 15! Her work is embarrassing. Never again.

Horrible and lousy service…
first, she gave me an appointment the day that did noy work and the lady on reception was very rude… then I came back and the lady got really bad face when I mentioned my groupon voucher and very rude when I told her that I had already come before… and finally, she hurt me and it doesn’t care… definitely I don’t recommend or comming back again!

I went to Jamila for at least 5 years and probably more untilI started working way further north. She has given me the most beautiful shape so consistently. I always feel gorgeous when I walk out. She’s great! Recommended.

Never ever coming back here… She’s doesn’t listen and she totally messed up my perfect shaped had for 10 yrs … Very disappointed and she didn’t even admit that my eyebrows were uneven. I am usually all about giving people chances and I even tipped her but being from NYC I have had amazing eyebrows done for much less money… $ 13 ridiculous for bad service!

Great experience here. I was a random walk-​in and they saw me immediately for eyebrow threading and did a gorgeous job! I was in and out in 10 minutes and feel really good about the service received. No doubt, this will be my go-​to for threading.

Came here with high hopes, service was kind but I feel that this service was over priced and my brows clearly look botched. I know that brows are not supposed to look identical but each one of my brows looks like it belongs to two different people. I wish I could have been happier with the results for the price I paid.

I went to Jamila Salon 2 times, and I decided to stop going because her customer service is greatly lacking. I went to have my eyebrows threaded, and instead of having a personable, kind, and professional demeanor, she insulted my skin. I have struggled with acne my whole life, and being told on each occasion that I «really need to do something about it» (her exact words) left me without words. She even told me my face looked bad. If a business insults its clients, it really needs to take lessons in customer service and just plain decency and respect. Please do not go to this salon. You can find a person or place, like I subsequently did, that treats customers with much more empathy, respect, and professionalism. It’s not worth the money. I recently found a woman who threads my eyebrows much better, and more importantly, treats me with respect.

I get my eyebrows threaded here all the time and they are really good. Jamilla does a great job. She’s the only one I trust with my eyebrows! It’s always quick fast and almost always under 5 minutes. The price is good and the location is great.

I’ve tried several different threading shops in Austin and this is the one I’ve come back to. Threading is the only service I’ve tried so I can’t speak to anything else. Jamila does the threading, but she rents space and chairs to several different hair stylists.
Process is simple, walk in. If it’s your first time, easy to wonder who’s running things, as Jamila is usually in the back working on someone, but if you sit in the chairs up front by the register, you’ll see her within 5 – 10 minutes and depending on if there’s a queue, you’ll be on her table in the same or less.
Threading can be a painful process, but she does it quickly and efficiently, making sure you double check the mirror and are fully satisfied with the results. A spray of rosewater afterwards and you’re all done. Great threading experience, I’m happy to have found Jamila’s shop.
Price is reasonable, for eyebrow and upper lip threading, it’s $ 20, so I would guess that eyebrows alone would be $ 12.

I had a great experience with Jamila. She really understands eyebrows and how to best work with what you have and is open to your critiques. I also got my eyebrows tinted for the first timd. It only tints the hairs and lasts for about a week, and it, of course, helps make your eyebrows look fuller. I’m glad she suggested it and had an overall great experience!

By far the best place I have been to. I requested a masculint but clean look and Jamila delivered.

I saw Jamila for brows and lip threading and it was just okay. The line shaping wasn’t too straight and when I got home I had to pluck some more.

Amazing service and quality is totally worth it. Called and was told if I came within the next 30 minutes I could get my eyebrows and they were true to their word.

This is one of the best threading jobs I’ve had and not expensive like a lot of places. I’m so pleased with how precise Jamila was and how she worked with me to meet my needs. I appreciated that Jamila explained how she threads and how she makes sure to blend the threaded areas into the non-​threaded areas. She also shows you what she’s threaded, before she finishes up, so you can tell her if you like it or if she needs to take off more/​shape.
I also got my brows tinted, something I’ve never done, and I love it! I was a bit nervous at first since I’d never done it before, but Jamila made sure I was comfortable and went a bit lighter in case I didn’t like it. I’ll definitely do it again. My eyebrows look full and even, but not dramatic. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place deserves a 5-​star review! :)

I have visited Jamila on multiple occasions for threading services, but she has always lead me to other wonderful and useful products that she hand makes. I have yet to be disappointed in her threading services or her products. In particular she had an eye brow oil that helps restore hair growth and it really works. It takes several months, but I was in desperate need of thicker, fuller eyebrows and her oil, applied once daily, has really made a huge difference. You have to be patient as it doesn’t help over night, but I have seen remarkable results and will continue to use her products.

I have been coming to Jamila Salon for a few years and I love her salon! She has great customer service and great products. I have gotten my eyebrows threaded, facials and bought some of her all natural products and thoroughly enjoyed everything. I highly recommend this salon!

I honestly don’t understand these negative reviews. I discovered Jamila last year and she is the BEST! She is very welcoming, sweet, and knows exactly what she’s doing.
As soon as you lay back on the table that she threads on, she immediately makes you feel comfortable. She cracks jokes and makes you feel like she actually cares about you… then as soon as you know it, she’s done! You’ll never walk out of there any less than satisfied — I absolutely love how she shapes my eyebrows with precision!

I went here about half a dozen times and every time the owner was more abrupt and condescending. Once, she felt the need to critique my eyebrows in a most disparaging way. (Who does that in a service position?)
The last time I was in, she rushed so much she nicked the skin under both of my eyebrows so she could cram several people in after me who did not have an appointment. Plus, each of the last three times I saw her, I paid an additional amount for the exact same service. WTF?
I’m done and will happily return to Kiss ‘N Makeup. Love those girls and wonder why I ever left. I’ll be making up and kissing them soon enough.
