not a fan of this type of illustrative art. I think she is a fine artist and puts out some quality paintings with amazing color but I really wanted to comment on something else. As an artist I go into galleries all the time… my objective is to see art, but there is an experience beyond the works that is made up of the folks that run the gallery, the space, the lighting… you get the idea. Kathy’s husband Scott is a huge part of this gallery and he just impressed the hell out of me with his kindness. The first time I went into the gallery I was new to the art sales world and had many many questions. I would have expected 5 minutes of quick answers which is understood considering the task these folks are undertaking. Scott stopped what he was doing and must have spent an hour talking with me, asking to see my website etc. It was a tremendous help that saved me hours of time and research. I called him later to thank him and was still trying to help me… these guys won me over by their attitude alone.

I learned of Kathy Womack at an art festival in Dallas and fell in love with her Women and Wine paintings. I finally even bought one over the phone and they shipped it to me. But this was my first experience at her gallery right in downtown Austin. It was fun to walk through and look at all of her stuff and start justifying spending a large chunk of change to buy some art. I love the Women and Wine paintings but she also has some that are men playing at a casino that are super cool also… and other type paintings and glass work in there as well. Limited edition prints on canvas are around $ 200 for the smaller ones and $ 700 for the larger ones. Looking at and falling in love with the paintings is free!
