Low cut my hair after a color correction and hair extensions that had to be removed and i was very impressed what she was able to do, recommend her to cut hair and give you a new look and feel hair style, she listens to your needs and wants and is very attentive to details

I’ve been to Lo twice for cuts. I have fine, curly hair that is rarely cut well. So far she has been fantastic!

Autum at the Front Desk is awesome! Maggie amazing with cut and color. Taylor amazing with long to short cuts! They are like family. I love this place.

I foolishly attempted to bleach my own hair a few months ago and it was time to get someone to fix my mess =\ Luckily after reading some great reviews, I ended up setting an appointment at Keith Kristofer :) I’m so happy I found them. They got me an appointment right away and set me up with Maggie.
The second I walked in the door I encountered nothing but friendly service and attentiveness. Maggie quickly came to greet me just a few minutes after I arrived and we discussed what I wanted and what could actually be done with my hair. This was a color correction job because my hair was patchy and still had a lot of brassiness that I wanted to get rid of, not to mention I need to retouch my roots. I eventually would like my hair platinum/​white but I already knew this would not likely happen since my hair needed a lot of TLC. Maggie, with help of some of the other stylists came up with a plan and quickly got to work. I was very impressed at how well all the girls work together and help each other. They also made sure I was comfortable through the whole processes. It took a little longer than I expected but I love the results and I will definitely be going back to get my hair color done and maybe a hair cut at some point too. Thanks for all the help Maggie and also to the other stylists whose names I wish I could remember right now!

I went back to Keith Kristofer after my earlier bad experience. The salon messaged me after reading that review, and offered to set up a complimentary session to right things. Normally, I don’t like returning to place where things have gone wrong, but the sincerity of the note they sent me, plus the desire to have a working relationship with a «neighborhood» place took me back in. And I’m so glad I went. This experience was completely different, and I was attended to by completely different people.
The co-​owner Kris was my colorist. My hair is pretty basic (a very dark brown) and I have a few highlights to break the monotony. Kris was very attentive with my gray growth as well as the skin around my hairline (my face picks up hair color like a sponge). She applied a cream around my face before starting work, so that the color wouldn’t catch on. She was meticulous and thorough with the application of root color. Following this, she heard my preferences for highlights (subtle and gray-​growth friendly) and added a few strands of balayage work to my hair. Her color work left my grays 100% covered, with a hint of highlights lending dimension to my hair.
During this process, Kris was very friendly. We talked about many things, settling on dogs as a common interest. She was also direct and courteous in addressing my prior experience with Rhea. Her handling of the whole situation was classy. Despite the frustration my review must have caused the salon, she was very understanding and appreciative of the feedback.
Once the color was applied, Kris left me in the hands of Trent for the wash & blowout.
Trent is my new favorite blowout person in Austin. When he was done, my hair looked lovely and elegant without looking overworked.
He checked with me about brush (size, material etc) preferences prior to the wash. The wash itself was very comfortable, with no pulled strands. Once back in the chair for styling, he discussed product use — both what I use, and what a Kerastase alternative would be, and started work on my hair. He was capable, confident, and after the first section, he knew exactly how my hair would respond to his styling. I have medium length, thick, curly hair, and he was able to style it into a soft wavy finish just the way I wanted to.
Keith Kristofer has a lot to offer, not the least of which is how invested the owners are in the satisfaction of their clientele. If you’ve had a bad experience with them, I do recommend talking to the owners, providing feedback, and seeing if you can’t find a different staff member that you like. I’m thankful to Kris for making my return experience so comfortable. I look forward to going back for Trent’s fantastic blowouts.

Another Austin salon that’s over priced with no talent.

I have lived in Austin for almost 6 years now and have had the WORST experiences with hair salons. I have left with chunks missing and weird wispy hairs that no one could explain. With that being said I decided to try AGAIN since I now have a short cut that desperately needs regular visits. I saw Lo Shabino and I am just THRILLED. She listened to my concerns about texture and losing too much volume and absolutely delivered! Not only did i walk out of the salon with a style I loved… I was able to recreate it MYSELF. Which is a miracle (ladies you know what I’m talking about). I will also be booking a color appointment with KK as I feel confident I have FINALLY found my local salon!

I’ve been living in Austin for over a year now. I was never satisfied with any of the stylists that I went to for color or cut. I booked an appointment at Keith Kristofer and had the best experience. The staff could not have been more professional from the time I walked in to the time I left. I booked an appointment with Kris. I always am nervous about trying a new stylist. I wanted something different and was very nervous about the change. She did an amazing job and made me feel comfortable and confident during the process. I will definitely be going back. Everyone there was very professional and welcoming, unlike other salons I’ve attempted in the past. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.

I’m lucky enough to have Kris as my colorist at this salon. Each time I go in – with a new color in mind for myself by the way – she is nothing but patient and flexible. She clearly walks me through what she’ll be doing that day, and what to expect by the end. When we both agree on the outcome, she speedily gets through the color, and I’ve never been disappointed.
Not only has Kris been a pleasure to work with, but each employee who has either shampooed, dried, brushed, or graciously curled my hair has been nothing but friendly and helpful. I have an exceptional amount of curly/​wavy/​straight and very long hair for one person, and have always been impressed with how well the ladies here are able to tackle that.
I would highly recommend this salon to anyone!

Beth was truly amazing! A friend had recommended I set up an appointment with her as I haven’t yet found that stylist that can perfectly blend blonde highlights in the 3 years I have lived in Austin since moving from Cali. The past few stylists have left it yellow or brassy looking. Life gets busy, and because I had such a difficult time finding a «blonde specialist» I allowed my hair to grow out to a mousy, unacceptable appearance. Beth fixed it all! She explains the entire process and will go over pricing beforehand to ensure you know what you’re getting into. She doesn’t cut, which I’m typically used to being included in my pricing, but I was so happy with her I’m not worried about it. If you are BLONDE, go see BETH!

I am in the terrible process of growing out a pixie cut and needed to get it a little shaped up… okay, A LOT fixed up! I went to Lauren «Lo» and was so happy with my hair, I immediately called my best friend and raved about it! Seriously, I LOVE IT! I have found my new hair stylist!

I loved my entire Keith Kristofer experience from start to finish! Rhea is an amazing color specialist. Ciera helped get my brows under control, and Madison remembered what I like, and helped me find a new cut that will work well for me. I love Keith Kristofer Salon!

The folks at Keith Kristofer Salon are the epitome of exceptional professionalism, integrity, and passionate talent! They are always pleasant, cheerful, and at the top of their game creatively. I trust Kris implicitly with my color, and I know that I’ll always get an excellent cut from Madison. Taylor has done the most amazing (and humidity-​resistant!) blowouts /​stylings I’ve ever had done on my super long, thick hair (and she’s super fun to visit with). I never hesitate for even a moment to refer anyone looking for a new salon to Keith Kristofer because I know from experience that they will NOT be disappointed. These folks are the real deal.

This place is the bees knees! Not only is every single staff member there extremely friendly funny and caring but they rock out some amazing colors cuts and styles! I can’t tell you the last time I left a salon feeling or looking this amazing! Kris is the woman when it comes to color! I can’t wait to come back and hang out with them again. LOVE this salon… I will tell you, I have been driving to Southlake (Dallas) for years, from Austin, just because my experience with Austin salons (even the most expensive) have been horrible. Larin was AWESOME. She spent more time talking with me than any stylist EVER has… and she was simply fantastic. The color, highlights, and cut could not have been more perfect. A great atmosphere, not stuffy… just nice, relaxing, and overwhelmingly suited to take care of a picky (and very nervous client).
Look no further and fear no more… these girls (and guys) are amazing…

I had a great experience during my Goldwell Kerasilk treatment with Beth. She was great during my consultation, listening to what I wanted out of the treatment and helping me decide between different straightening options and managing my expectations for each. She just made me feel very comfortable and was very warm and professional! I will definitely be going back to this salon for a haircut. I can’t say that I would recommend the Kerasilk treatment, but that is a review I’ll save for Goldwell.

The services that I receive — cut, color, blowout — are always well worth the price and provided by a professional and friendly staff. I only wish I looked as cool as some of the staff and could rock the groovy haircuts, but I’m stuck in corporate America and have to wait for retirement to really let them loose on my hair. :)

After a terrible experience at Salon Belleza-​JOSE– Bee Caves, I got a fabulous recommendation to try Keith Kristofer Salon. What a wonderful place!
