I went to check this place out since it’s new and close to home. Plus, I love calzone. Pros: Seems to be a nice hangout spot, to just relax and eat pizza. The guy at the counter was friendly and courteous. He told me exactly how long the wait would be and even brought my to go order to my table. Cons: Forgettable from the first bite. The calzone was not great. It was burnt on the bottom and the dough was tough, dry and flavorless. The inside was salty and just overall not well seasoned. You really have to smother it in the marinara in order to get any type of flavor from this calzone. This left such a bad taste, I don’t know if I would return to try the pizza.

We got a large pepperoni pie, calzone, and ceasar salad delivered. The delivery guy was prompt and polite and the food was good! I lived in NYC for 12 years and this pizza was pretty close to the slices I would get in the shops there.

We have been without decent pizza delivery for way too long! I was so excited to find this place recently. The crust is great, the toppings delicious, the price right and the delivery fast(mind you — I live around the corner). I am in love and will be ordering more very very soon(aka tonight)!

Overall, a high quality pizza you can feel good about eating! The location is small(I’m sure they do mostly take out and delivery), but it’s comfortable inside with dimmer lights and not too noisy. Things I’ve Had: — Cheesy Breadsticks: Solid cheesy bread! It’s a white cheesy, and it’s a little oily. But the bread is soft, the cheese isn’t overwhelming, and it’s tasty with cold or warm ranch(but it comes with marinara, so you’ll have to request ranch). — Garlic Knots: I’d probs pass on these. They are buttery and soft and very good for bread, but it more like a hint of olive oil and garlic. I dunno, I’m already eating bread, so I was hoping for something with a stronger garlic flavor to be worth buying again. — Elgin Pizza: Named for the type of sausage that comes in it, it is a really tasty pizza. Nice ratio of toppings. Just a little pricier than I thought it was worth, but I’m not sure what the market rate for Elgin sausage is. Note: the pizzas are listed as available in 14″ and 18,” but you can order a personal(10″?) size, too. — Calzone(Pepperoni and Sausage): First: IT’S HUGE! Second: had just the right amount of filling and the right ratio of meat/cheese/bread. I hate when they just overload you with meat. The crust is soft, not hard and crusty, which is nice. I really like the mozzarella cheese. Thick and hearty and not bland. This is not empanada eating style: you’ll def want to pull this apart and eat it bite by bite or use utensils.

Just found this place by chance using my Google-foo and I am so glad I did. Got our pizza delivered super fast(we live pretty close) and I am loving it. Nice change from Domino’s, Pizza Hut etc. The crust is great. I am a crust connoisseur so trust. I am happy these guys came to this part of town.

Other than MOD Pizza down in Mueller, there isn’t much non-mega-chain pizza close to my Windsor Park neighborhood. I’d eaten at the Local Slice in Cedar Park before, so I was delighted to hear they were opening a new location off 290E, not far from my house. If you like the Cedar Park location, you won’t be disappointed — the pizza at this location is virtually identical. It’s that kinda floppy, thin-crust without being crunchy, NY-style of pizza. sort of similar to Homeslice. The crust edge is soft and actually. edible, which is also a nice bonus. Their red sauce is a little different from most NY-style pizzas I’ve had, but it’s still quite good. They’ve got several delicious topping combinations — half of us really enjoyed the Tuscan and half of us(me included) really love the vegetarian Whole Hearted. The people are friendly, the prices are reasonable given the quality of ingredients, and you can even grab a 6-pack of beer to go! Doesn’t get much better than that! Really glad to have this place in the neighborhood, and I hope they do well given their kind of strange location.

This place is awesome. First place in Austin that has truly reminded me of NY slices & everyone is super friendly. It’s close to my house and we do pizza nights every Fri so I hope this place stays open! No need to go anywhere else now.

Spotted it from across the street, should have more lighting because this place is amazing. One of the tastiest pizza I have eaten. I would recommend anyone to try this place out.

This place is solely responsible for me not quitting my job on almost a weekly basis. Was so happy to just get another food option in the vicinity(options are very limited), but now if I go out for lunch, this is the only place I go. Staff is always incredibly friendly and Main Root fountain drinks are a huge plus. Love the fresh salads and all the veggie pizza topping options! Parking is tough sometimes, but worth it!

So I decided to make a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and was at the house of my friend who knows how to bake things. We got hungry and decided to order a pizza. This place is new and in their hood so we wanted to try it out. We ordered the Tuscan and it was amazing. Why would you even think to put these things together on a pizza? The thinly sliced pineapple was my favorite part. Usually, on Hawaiian pizzas, the pineapple is in huge chunks. The location is a little weird, but well worth it and the best pizza in this hood. BTW, Monica O. Says hi.

This place was definitely a pleasant surprise. Extremely close to my house, well made, stellar service and delicious. I’ve seen some folks complain of a soggy crust. This was not an issue for us. We got a traditional pepperoni and their BBQ chicken pizza and both were great! We were a bit leery of buying a pizza at the same price point as East-Side Pies but lo and behold, it was on par with the quality and value. Their large pizza is ENORMOUS. Also, a delivery option that isn’t a national chain? Yes, please.

I think this place is great! Especially for a delivery option in this neck of the woods. I liked all the elements: the crust was fresh, the toppings were unique and delicious, the sauce was just right. The standout for me was the 5 Hour Hawaiian. Definitely NOT traditional, but soooooo delicious.

I haven’t had any«authentic» NY style pizza from NY per se. But I imagine this comes pretty close. All ingredients taste really fresh and the crust is not to doughy or crunchy. When folding the pizza it does not get to flimsy or floppy. The consistency is great. So far I have been three times and it has been spot on every time. Cant beat the lunch special either. 2 huge slices and a drink for less than $ 7, whaaaat??? Keep it up Local Slice

Had two slices here. Both were legit. I’m assuming most of their biz is take-out since I was the only one in there at the time. However both of my slices were made to order, and super fresh. Thin crust is what I had, not sure if there are other options. Service was very friendly and quick. It’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

I got the 2 slice lunch special with a drink. It was 6.50 but I got the 5 hr Hawaiian and meat lovers(50 cent extra). I’m glad did! They’ve got seriously good pizza and premium toppings. It’s thin new York style. My pizza was fresh, hot, greasy, and devoured in just minutes! They also have real sugar fountain drinks like root beer, vanilla cream, and Mexican coke! I see myself coming here again and again!

Five stars, people? Seriously? And you, Brooklyn guy — hang your head in shame for comparing this to East Coast pie. Pros: Location, price, portion size. Cons: Bland, generic pizza on limp thin crust, dull sauce(and not much of it), tiny, cramped location, no brewed iced tea — c’mon, people, this IS Texas.

I’m thrilled we have a legit place to eat near my office! Not that there’s anything wrong with Bill Miller’s and Quizno’s, but this is clearly a level above those. I had the 2 slice lunch combo and was very impressed!

Today I got the lunch special. $ 6.50 for two one topping slices with a drink. It was great! The slices were way bigger than expected and they had Maine pure cane sugar soda. Love Doppelgänger. I went with just cheese today but will try toppings next time. The sauce was really good which is one of the most important things that determines if I like a pizza or not. There also wasn’t too much sauce which I find to be an issue with most chain pizza places. Oh and the crust was perfect! I always save my crust for last and they had a nice hand tossed crust cooked to perfection. The people were extremely nice, it was very clean, and service was quick. I’m sure they’ll pick up over time but who can blame them with great lunch specials and officially being the best thing to eat in the area. There’s a lack of good food in this area so I am excited to have this place open. I made sure to grab a few menus to spread the word at work and so that our administration can consider catering from them instead of the usual chain pizza places. If you work in the area I high recommend them instead of all the fast food and Mexican restaurants. Welcome to the area and I hope y’all do very well!
