Kids working the counter seemed very annoyed that we came in. Were rude to my fiancé and I and also rude to the 2 elderly ladies that came in right after us. Buying candy should be a fun experience! Not an awkward one. Cute shop though, too bad about the employees.

This is a cute little chocolate /candy shop. We bought a bunch of salt water taffy, some dark chocolate covered almonds and dark chocolate covered milk balls. They had a decent variety of sweets and chocolate. I liked that you could buy a bag of chocolate or make a mix of your own bag. It was nice making our own mix of taffy.

Service is great and the store is very fitting of its location in this mass development! Would make the trek here just to get some balls? Perhaps not, but it is a great place to stop to pick up some interesting chocolate concoctions, jelly beans, taffys, or stuff animals if you are already at The Oasis. The Cowboy balls are pretty good. My favorite is the Lammes Candies habanero pralines — spicy, nutty, salty. I would have preferred a bulk-type arrangement for their homemade chocolates to the prepackaged. I don’t like to commit to an entire bag; I like variety. If you find yourself enjoying the beautiful sunset at The Oasis, Longhorn Balls is worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed. I brought my sons here after our lunch and they chose to buy a stuffed longhorn and horse instead of candy.

Holy balls! We are talking cow balls(chocolate covered pecans), frosty balls(chocolate covered pecans rolled in powder sugar), Tex-Mex balls(chocolate covered pecans rolled in cayenne pepper), you get the idea. They also have deer & longhorn droppings and don’t forget the cow patties. They make the chocolates in house and they have some traditional candies such as gummies & salt water taffy. They have samples to try before you buy. I thought they were OK. I would likely buy something for an out of state guest out of novelty of the names of the items. Like Ty O. mentioned I am not sure how well they will do at the Oasis complex but wish them the best.

Hungry for mountain oysters? Well you’ve come to the wrong place. Nope they don’t serve mountain oysters here but they do sell loads of chocolate covered nuts. As in pecans. Duh. We stumbled in here last weekend while taking a friend from Canada on a tour of the new complex at the Oasis. The store name definitely draws attention to itself for obvious reasons. Then once inside there is massive paper mache(or similar substance) tree that has hundreds of paper disc ornaments suspended from its branches. It’s an eye catcher that fills much of the floor space. There is also a small assortment of stuffed animals and toys to capture small children’s imaginations but this is no Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The shelves are stocked with a variety of chocolate covered pecans. Combinations include milk chocolate covered pecans, dark chocolate covered pecans, white chocolate covered pecans, chocolate and chili powdered pecans, chocolate and powdered sugar covered pecans, etc. Get the picture, Bubba Gump? Additionally, I saw saltwater taffy and jelly beans. Our friend picked up a few bags of Longhorn Balls he hoisted over his shoulder to cart back to Oh Canada. We tasted some of the samples at the register and the white chocolate covered balls were quite tasty. I’ve been to better confectioneries. I’m suspicious that Longhorn Balls Candy & Chocolate Store isn’t going to sell enough product to cover the steep rent at this location. Aside from the novelty of the store name I don’t see people driving out to the Oasis to fulfill their chocolate covered pecan ball cravings. I hope I’m wrong for their sake. It’s an ok stop in the new Oasis, Texas complex especially if you’re visiting with your kids.

Chocolate. Chocolate! CHOCOLATE! This quaint little boutique recently opened has chocolate covered everything with a wonderful sense of humor. Their menu of homemade items includes: Cowboy Balls(milk chocolate covered pecans), Cow Patties(chocolate covered banana chips), and much more. They also have taffy, jelly beans, popcorn and flavored pecans. You need to climb some stairs to get to their wares, but it’s worth burning off a few calories for all the one’s you’ll soon be packing away with their delectable dessert treats!
