MAC Cosmetics

I made an appointment with the MAC at Barton Creek Mall the day of my graduation photos, and was very pleased with the end result. The artist was very kind and asked me what type of skin I have and what colors I’d like. She was very patient whenever I asked her to do something a little different, she reassured me that it was my face and so I can be as picky as I’d like. However, the appointment lasted almost 2 hours because she had to help other customers throughout the session. It’s not that big of a deal, but I was in a rush by the end to get to my grad photos appointment so that wasn’t really ideal.

I stopped by this counter with no intention of buying anything at that moment but rather to sample some products for a big haul the next week.
I was quickly helped by Roxy and she was awesome! So sweet and helpful! I let her know that I wasn’t buying anything that day and usually that turns sales people off but she was still very helpful and not pushy at all!
She sat me down and tested a bunch of foundation shades on me until we found the right shade. She answered all of my 100 questions and suggested I watch her when she was testing the products. She really walked me through everything me gave me a Bunch of tips. I feel like I learned more from her in 15 minutes than any other MAC artist I’ve dealt with in my 10 years of MAC.
She also totally sold me on the warm x15 eyeshadow palette that my wallet won’t be too happy about :/​but I’ll definitely be back!

Going into an MAC store seems intimidating. however, this location is anything but that. Every staff member that I encountered were all so nice and so accommodating. I want to give a big thanks to Mary F. ! Not only was she extremely accommodating in helping me switch up my appointment to get my make up done so last minute, but she was super genuine and so very nice! Thank you for making me look special on my Valentines day with my girl! :) You rock. Also wanted to give thanks to Hayley, who was also so sweet! Sending positive vibes to your whole team. When I first switched to mac, I was helped by a lady named Roxy. Super nice! I went today and they were not so helpful AT ALL. Hopefully next time will be WAY better

I have been to this MAC counter at barton creek mall before and was pretty satisfied with the male make up artist who seemed to be in his late 20s. So I went in again to match my foundation and concealer shades. I always ask for small samples before I buy a $ 34 foundation. This time I saw that MAC counter was moved into a tiny compact space and no one greeted me when I was trying to look for products. I then approached a different male artist who was in his 30s probably and he just seemed not interested in helping me out. He just took a random color and painted on my whole face, did not blend at all. It was so caky and too yellow for my skin. I asked him whether this is the only match for me or he should try and look for more shades. He bluntly refused. When I told him if I can have a sample of that shade, he gave a cold look and went in and got me a tiny sample.
The overall experience was very cold and rude. This artist needs to be more professional and put in a little efforts in helping his customers out at MAC where it can be overwhelming to get products.

I’ve been a MAC junky since I was a teenager and they’ve never let me down. Let me elaborate:
–Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, courteous team, ALWAYS. I never feel intimidated or judged by the artists.
–Top of the line, high quality cosmetics. I’ve had some MAC eye shadows for 3 years or more. An extra special nod to the tinted moisturizer, which has saved my skin and provided light, natural coverage during every season.
–Does not test on animals.
–Raises millions of dollars per year for AIDS research through the Viva Glam line
–You can exchange 6 used containers for a free lipstick (or an eyeshadow at MAC boutiques).
What more can I say? MAC Cosmetics are a great investment and you won’t be disappointed.

Great service and advice. I love the colors and I have resolved to wear eyeshadow with the «smokey eye» everyday. Why have I never worn eye shadow before?

I wandered into Dillard’s and ended up at the MAC counter. A salesgirl approached me with a friendly, «You been helped yet, hon?» When I told her that I hadn’t, but was looking for a wedding look, she excitedly told me to sit down and she would do a makeover right there. (Much better than Sephora, where the salesguy told me that I’d have to make an appointment for a beauty consult, and it definitely could not be on a weekend.) She asked me all sorts of questions, like what kind of coverage I wanted with my foundation, what sorts of colors I was interested in, and so on. She seemed to really love her job and I felt really comfortable with her, even though she was aiming eyeliner pencils and stuff a centimeter away from my pupils, because she explained everything she was doing and what product was doing what function.
And although I wasn’t very happy with the way the foundation felt (or smelled) despite how flawless it made my skin look, she wasn’t very pushy about it. She told me that if I liked something, «get it, but seriously, don’t feel pressured to buy anything.» Maybe the reverse psychology worked or maybe I just really liked the eyeshadow colors she used, because I ended up buying some of the products (though not the foundation). She learned that I was having my engagement photos taken and she gave me a little sample pot of the foundation to use if I wanted, which was really nice of her.
Great customer service. I’d always been intimidated by makeup counters because my skin isn’t perfect and I’m pretty low-​key when it comes to cosmetics, but she was really sweet, very tactful about how to cover blemishes without calling too much attention to it, and basically just being a really nice person. So, 5 stars.
