We stopped here one morning on our way to visit a Farm in the neighborhood. I had no idea what I was in for. Some of the absolute best Mexican street style tacos in Austin. Their sauces are amazing ! I’ll be going back often!

We love this place. Staff is nice and seem to like piling on the fillings. Portions are very generous and sauces are spicy. I’m the office champ every time I bring bacon egg and cheese tacos in the morning. You won’t regret trying everything on the menu.

Best. Tacos. Ever. Literally. This is not and overstatement or a sales pitch. These are straight-forward, non Tex-Mex, authentic abuela made tacos. Period. Whatever bacon they use is… just…perfection. I’ve been trying to figure out how to recreate it at home with many fails. The spicy potatoes… Get them. Tried the corn tortillas for the first time. Love. Oh and their flour tortillas are made especially for them every day. Bomb!

Bacon lovers unite because this place has the best bacon that I have ever had in a breakfast taco! We stopped here to grab to go tacos on our way to beach camping. Am I the only one who didn’t know that this place existed??? This is counter service and you will wait in line but, it’s well worth it. They have combinations on the board but, you are welcome to customize your own. They also have lunch type tacos at breakfast time such as chicken fajita, barbacoa, etc. They have quite a few tables to eat in and you get your drink from the coolers and then pay at the register(don’t forget to get your salsa by the register). I opted for my favorite breakfast taco toppings of egg, bacon and onion. I know it sounds like a boring taco but, it was anything but. This is the best breakfast taco that I have ever had in Austin and I have tried a bunch. The bacon wasn’t that half cooked crappy bacon. This was high quality crispy chunks of pork treat goodness. For the price these tacos are huge and don’t make the mistake I did and order just one!

Great breakfast tacos with excellent chorizo and fun options like rajas and nopalitas. Fast, friendly, cheap, and delicious. Not much else I can say!

Tacos at huge and decently tasting. They are pretty expensive for the quality of the ingredients. I quit coming in the mornings because they stopped selling meat tacos for breakfast. I’m sure they lost a lot of business from that decision, because so many people want fajita, picadillo, Barbados, and carne guisada for breakfast. I did try the spicy cabbage and can say it was excellent. Next time I will try it in a bowl with some eggs instead of in the tortilla.

The tacos here are pretty good and decently big. This place would be a three star except these tacos are some of the greasiest tacos I have ever seen or had. I took 4 or 5 tacos to go and all the grease and oil soaked through the paper bag, ripping the bag when I picked it up. Thanks for hour I spent scrubbing grease and oil off my car carpet and seat.

SOGOOD! Everything is packed with flavor and cooked right! I probably consume more sustenance from this place than any other spot in Austin. While waiting for them to open today I read their Unilocal page, and decided I had to try their(homemade) corn tortillas. To my delight, as I stood in line, one of the lovely and talented cooks was rolling up little balls of dough and squashing them into tortillas using what looked like a medieval press with a long wooden handle, to be cooked up seconds later on the grill. The experience was transcendent. The flour ones are delicious too, but this was something else. Moist and not-grainy in the least. Wow! Marcelino’s sources their ingredients, as much as possible, from«The 02». Some jerk left a review that claimed that their flour tortillas were«store bought», when they’re actually sourced from Milagra, the effervescent tortilla factory just across the railroad tracks from Yellow Jacket Social Club. An under-appreciated aspect of this place is that they’re happy to mix-and-match ingredients. It’s like an alchemical workshop for tacos! The bacon /egg /cheese is the best I’ve ever had, from anywhere! It mates super well with the homemade creamy green salsa. Fluffy eggs, generous crispy bacon crumbles. Yum, yum, yum. The beef steak is flavored excellently. The carne guisada is good, but the green chile pork will knock your socks off! Besides their normal menu, they occasionally rotate in special items: When they have the chicken mole, I’m sure to snatch one up. Everyone does mole differently, and Marcelino’s slightly-sweet sauce is phenomenal.(note: some days it’s better than others, especially when they make the chicken nice and string-y) Brisket! Three bucks gets you an amply morning-size helpin’ of good olé Texas brisket! Juicy and delicious. Rajas! It’s like a «light» queso, amped up with a fancy variety of chiles(when they’re in season). Whenever they have rajas, I get it in place of cheese, for an extra flavorful, less-tangy-than-cheese, creamy mouthgasm. I just got done with my breakfast from Marcelino’s, and my mouth is watering again, just writing this review. Once you eat at Marcelino’s, the Torchy’s of the world will occur to you as flavorless perversions of the Taco arts. You will be ruined. In the best of ways.

Best tacos in the neighborhood. And there are A LOT of taco places in this neighborhood. I love the spicy potato with ranchero sauce and the nopales tacos, hubby likes the thick bacon or chorizo in his tacos. They have gorditas as well. Wish the coffee was better. I see many city employees(lots of trucks) get their tacos here, it’s jumping but quick in the mornings.

This place is really close to my work so I am biased. That being said I have lived in Texas my entire life so breakfast tacos are definitely in my czech blood(don’t ask me to choose between a klobasnek and a breakfast taco). Family owned! The tacos are consistent. The service is fast and friendly. The salsa is plentiful, varied, and painfully spicy. This is mainly a counter service kind of place, I have only dined in once there and the atmosphere is not that great, although they do have an outdoor patio that seems nice. The beauty of Marcelino is quick take out tacos that are delicious, filling and made with care. If you are the type of person who turns their nose up at american cheese slices on breakfast tacos then this is not the place for you… I personally don’t mind it on a bean and cheese taco! It is utilitarian and delicious. Or better yet, hold the cheese all together! I highly recommend requesting their homemade corn tortillas. It changes the experience completely. Their flour tortillas are store bought but the corn tortillas are made in house(probably with lard) and are fantastic! I also recommend their Papa Rancheras, potatoes simmered with peppers, tomatoes and onions. Their pork in green sauce is delicious but don’t expect the pork to melt in your mouth, it can be a little tough but the flavor is brilliant. What I had this morning: Chorizo and egg on corn(with blistering hot orange salsa) Papa Rancheras and bean on corn both recommended

I have eaten here a lot over the past decade. The food is good, and the family that runs the place is fantastic. The pork and green chile is outstanding. All in all, about as good as it gets, and they serve a lot of folks each morning.

Marcelino pan y NOPE. Wanted to like this place because it is close to where I live, but the tacos are just not good. The fillings are served out of heated bins and they load them up right before your eyes. The whole situation screams sanitation issues. I could easily look past how the tacos are served if they were at least tasty tacos, but nope. Greasy, flavorless and the ingredients tasted like they had been kept well beyond their freshest state. My friend said the barbacoa is some of the worst he’s had in Austin. Also, American cheese Kraft like slices on the breakfast tacos… That gets a big ass nope. If you are looking for amazing tacos then I’d recommend checking out La Fruta Feliz, which is kind of in the area. If you’re in a pinch and desperately need a breakfast taco then give this place a try, but I warned ya’!

No more hotel breakfast! It’s time to try breakfast tacos at a food truck. Some how ended up at Marcelino and from first impression we weren’t so sure about it. Sent husband in. Got bacon, egg and cheese taco and sausage and egg taco. Both very yummy but we both agree bacon was the better.

Please know that I fully understand the magnitude of this statement: Marcelino Pan Y Vino makes the best breakfast tacos in Austin. My favorite is the papas rancheros with cheese and bacon. What you’re getting yourself into is french fries spiced with roasted peppers, velveeta cheese and crumbled bacon that was fried in it’s own fat. It’s a little off the beaten path, which makes it that much better if you ask me.

Scanning for the best breakfast options on the new Unilocal App for iPhone(YEEEHAW!) Marcelino Pan Y Vino pops up and I’m stumped — — never heard of this place at all. After reading the nice reviews I was in the mood for some quality breakfast tacos and made my way over to Tillery St. This is one of those types of places where I walk in and kick myself in the ass for taking 2 years of French instead of Spanish(WTF?). I made my way through the«oh-great-the-yuppies-r-taking-over» glares and shrugged off the«you’re in the wrong side of town» comment from the customer waiting in line behind me(he was nice) and get to the kitchen counter to be welcomed by a very nice lady who was eager to help this Asian-n-White dude out. Going off the review highlights I asked her what Papas Rancheros looked like — — she showed me and it looked appetizing. Okay — I’ll take one of those w/bacon on a flour tortilla, and also an egg + bacon breakfast taco to go. No problemo! I like how you can see all of the food in front of you in the sliver tins, that way you know what you’re getting. Transparency rocks! She made my tacos while a young male cook was assembling a Huevos Rancheros dish that looked really good(see pic). I paid $ 4 for my two b-fast tacos and was directed to a fridge where they had milk crates full of 3 types of salsa — just grab n go! My tacos were excellent! The tortillas were like buttery melt-in-your-mouth and I loved the Papas Rancheros! The bacon was chopped and crispy which is what I prefer over chewy and greasy. There was plenty of egg in it — she doesn’t skimp on the portions which is cool beans, and the prices here are very reasonable — they have special plates as well. I loved the quality paper towels which is always a good thing, and the salsas were solid too. There’s the usual green salsa that is probably my fave, then reddish-orange salsa is hot and has a nice pungent kick. The red salsa was okay, I had to throw a few away since they tasted like they were on the brink of expiration. So word to the wise — do a quality check on that salsa just in case, I don’t think FIFO is fully implemented as of yet. I didn’t see any cilantro + onions action but then again I forgot to ask for it. I will definitely be back here sooner than later, and will bring all the yuppies and hipsters and labeled posse with me to enjoy some excellent breakfast tacos, and I don’t think they’ll mind at all!

These breakfast tacos should be renamed Bacon Tacos. I love bacon more than any other food outside of steak. Its the best thing for a breakfast taco, so I was immediately floored when I got the taco and I opened it up to add salsa and I could not see the eggs. Another unique twist to the tacos here is that they use crumbled chunks of bacon on a bed of fluffy eggs. These things are breakfast burritos in taco tortillas. Although the salsa was not as spicy as I expected or preferred it had a robust flavor that complimented the saltiness of the bacon. In a city that runs on breakfast tacos this place rises above the crowd. Sometime I will have to break away from the bacon tacos and give the lunch fare a try.
