Hole in the wall, nothing fancy about it. Dang TV blares loudly. They won’t turn it down on request, even if no one is watching it. The bathrooms too close to the tables. They won’t let you set at the group table in front. BUT, the SHRIMOCOCKTAIL may be the best ever… I lay awake thinking about it. Get the LARGE. Don’t take your own drink or own food into the restaurant… stupid and they will ask you to ditch it.

The chips are good and salsa ok. If you are looking for anything remotely like Tex Mex food this is not it. My wife got the beef enchiladas and they were covered in a disgusting queso sauce sauce on the side or Spanish rice tastes like somebody poured a can of tomato sauce from HEB on white rice. I got the shrimp enchiladas the actual shrimp was pretty good but the sauce for the enchiladas was disgusting it came with mixed vegetables and white rice. Again if you’re looking for anything like a typical Mexican meal this is not the place.

Total hole in the wall, the sweet server asked me everything in Spanish first, followed by the translation, I guess in the event I remembered any rudimentary Spanish, very nice. The tortilla chips appear to be housemate, the salsa has GREAT heat and flavor, and the crab enchiladas were delicious. Worth crossing the busy street for!

Sopa de Marisco.(Hope i spelled it correctly) mmmmm… great seafood soup for morning hang-over. The yummy seafood burrito packed enough for 2 and love the chips. Can’t wait to try shrimp nachos, looks sooooo good! I only wish the place had a bigger sitting area. The place can get packed and long wait line during peak times so go around those times. My hubby and I were the only non Latins there, we felt like we were somewhere far south… it’s authentically awesome! See you there next week!

The food was fairly good. However, the service was terrible. They are very short-handed:

I love this place. So delicious, every single time. Their crab enchiladas are heavenly… highly recommended. I’ve also tried their shrimp nachos… just as good. Great micheladas, too. Love!!!

Horrible customer service! I brought an outside soda in and the owner was completely unreasonable. The server informed me that I could not have the soda in the restaurant. I offered to pay for another drink since I had brought my own in. The server said that was fine. She then came back to inform me that the owner said I still could not have an outside drink in the restaurant. The server stated that I specifically couldn’t have the drink because it was soda. Even though I was willing to buy another

Once upon a time, this was a Jack In A Box but now it’s a pretty good Mexican seafood joint which I have yet to try the«Seafood» portion of the menu. They have a decent breakfast as I had their migas. The migas was great. They don’t joke about the portions. I had to take half of it home. My friends who ordered breakfast tacos, they couldn’t see the tortilla. They have a happy hour which is from 4 – 7. It’s a small restaurant. So I presume it gets crowded easily during lunch. If you are a fan of Mexican seafood, this is the place for you.

This is the best Mexican seafood joint in town. If you like good seafood cocktails, oysters on the half shell in the Tampico style, fried and broiled fish to perfection this is the place ! I love this place

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you get food poisoning here. The atmosphere is quite nasty. Sticky unclean tables kinda warm with ceiling fans. RR can be smelled around the entire restaurant. I ordered grilled fish with a salad and rice. The rice was good but the fish was gross greasy and fried nt grilled. The salad included brown lettuce and tons of onions. I took three bites and paid 40. This place needs restaurant rescue REALBAD. someone help this place !!!

Did we go to the wrong place?!(Oltorf)All these reviews are shocking. My boyfriend and I went here looking for good seafood options and maybe something on the healthier side… The menu was full of fried this and fried that. We both ordered the less horrible option of shrimp quesadillas. They weren’t terrible but it’s not going to bring us back. Maybe if they were more than just cheese and shrimp –perhaps add some peppers and onions in them-It wouldn’t have been so bad. The side plates with the pico and brownish quac were unappetizing. Paying $ 40 for something I make better at home is not my cup of tea. To each their own, but if you’re looking for a higher quality seafood restaurant, keep driving!

I don’t understand the appeal of this place. The atmosphere feels like a refurbished Jack in the Box, complete with a former drive-through window and bathrooms within easy view of every table. The octopus and shrimp ceviche was quite good, but the cheese enchiladas were almost inedible.

A hidden gem(though in plain sight), and definitely not typical Tex Mex! The menu is very unique and the prices are reasonable. I had the crab enchiladas. They were fantastic, came with rice and mixed vegetables(much preferred to typical refried beans). Also had a margarita on the rocks with salt(excellent) and chips and salsa(both good). My friend had the fish tacos and loved them. Will be back for sure.

I’ve lived across this place for nearly two years in some capacity and never been. In short, something is very, very wrong with me. Looks are deceiving with this place– it looks like a dump outside. Apparently it used to be a drive-thru? Inside is a completely different story. This place is immaculate and cheery. Don’t be fooled! Service was warm and welcoming, despite the fact that I was definitely the oddball gringa in the room. Food was impressive. My pescado al mojo was a little bit oily, but perfectly flaky and super garlicky, which was bomb. I tried the shrimp nachos because eh, I was hormonal, and they too did not disappoint. The shrimp are large, juicy, and oh so yummy with beans and cheese. I want to try their ceviche, as other Unilocalers have recommended. Try it out, you won’t be bummed!

Pretty delicious. We had the crab enchiladas, seafood rice, and veracruzano fish. Started off with the fish and shrimp ceviche. Didn’t care for the white rice that came with the fish entrée, but eh, whatever. The micheladas were good. They were out of clamato, so we only got the plain micheladas. Still delicious. We’ll go again when craving Mexican seafood. It’s conveniently across the street from us.

Fish tacos are insane. We’re not talking your Americanized(aka butchered), cole-slaw drowning mounds of Tilapia that needs some sauce. I mean fresh fish flavored and cooked right stuffed inside of a tortilla that is just perfection in a savory form. The whole fried fish for ten bucks was still good the day after. The soups are still like the unicorns, rainbows, and leprechauns I made them out to be. Only thing I would stay away from now, the seafood burrito. Concentrate on the important things in life.

Great fajitas de camarones, especialmente con las tortillas de maíz hechas a mano. Good micheladas, también. Don’t let the building(an old Jack n’ The Box) mislead you — this place is top-notch!

What ever you order make sure it has SHRIMP! I ordered the Shrimp Nachos and they were delicious. Yes, I could complain about the quality of the cheese but the quality of the fresh chips, beans, and shrimp more than made up for it. Chips and salsa are both made fresh in house, and were the sole reason I decided to order nachos over other items. Also had the shrimp cocktail appetizer which was pretty standard but the shrimp was big and maintained a good flavor that did not get lost in the sauce. Ceviche on a tostada was good, yet again this was really held together by the home made tostada shell. If you like Mexican seafood, look no further than Marisco’s on Riverside.
