Things I hate about lingerie shops I’ve visited in the past: * Poor selection in my size * Overpriced for mediocre quality * Cloying stench of cheap vanilla * Eye-searing *pink* décor that leaves me partially blinded by the time I leave * Atmosphere that is either slightly trashy or hoity-toity(sometimes a combo of both) * So-so service by college co-eds that work there for the discounts Megan’s shop is the exact opposite of everything I hate about lingerie shops I’ve visited in the past. She has ample supply of unmentionables in my size! Handmade vintage style bras of exceptional quality at great prices! No cheap vanilla smell! Adorably decorated amazingly without *pink*! Great boutique-y atmosphere without a hint of sleaze or attitude! Superb service by the delightfully charming Megan herself. Ladies, do yourselves a favor and visit Megan’s shop. I cannot rave enough about what a great experience it was. Megan measured me and gave me 3 bras to try on. I bought two and as we chatted she wrapped them up for me. Only $ 11 each?!?1? Wow, that’s an incredible deal. She can also do custom work for your upcoming burlesque show, bridal trousseau, or whatever else you might be cooking up.

Where to start! I popped in to the pop-up shop this weekend to check out the $ 11 bras I had heard so much about. First off, Megan Summerville is so friendly and engaging from the moment one walks into the store that I didn’t even pause before flipping open the curtain in my undies to ask her what she thought about the fit on several bras. Second, the bras are quite comfortable, not to mention beautiful, even the«basic» ones! She has several different cuts and styles to offer. Megan suggested trying on a white bra and was quick to mention that the fabric takes up dye very well. I have big plans for that white bra! Third, she loves her craft and loves talking to people about it, not simply for a sale, but to promote sound breast health. Other things I would be remiss to forget: Her custom work is breathtaking and assuredly worth every penny. In addition, she makes custom bras for women recovering from masectomies and, from my conversation with her, I can tell she really attends to each individual woman’s needs in a way that I believe offers women recovering from surgery more than the appropriate undergarments; rather, she helps women experience comfort and normalcy at what can be a terrifying and difficult time in their lives. The staff will do a professional fitting for free! As she told me, 80% of women wear the wrong bra size, likely because your everyday store carries a very limited range of sizes and/or the right size of bra, particularly for well-endowed women, can be quite pricey! And she does repairs! She will repair powermesh, the fabric the back part of bras that can get stretched out over time. She also repairs hook & eye closures($ 6, I believe) and underwire casings($ 12). AND! If you find a bra that fits you correctly in the cup size but is too big in the band, she can help there, too! The $ 11 sale lasts through the end of October. Do your boobs a favor and pay Megan and her compañeras a visit!

I visited the pop up shop at 6063rd on the tip that they are selling affordable bras in vintage designs. The shop itself is very charming and shows off some of the pricier, very beautiful designs of lingerie. Megan helped me and 2 other friends to find lacy bras that fit from her collection of basic black, white and beige in a variety of underwire & no-underwire designs. These basics sell for just $ 11(with $ 1 going to Breast Cancer Resource Center)! She also told us about custom work she does for hard to fit women, or special occasions. If you bring her your own(non-stretchy) fabric, she can make a bra for you starting around $ 70. I had such great service, for a lovely product, at an amazing price, that I hope the pop up shop lasts a while longer. I don’t want to go somewhere else when I need new bras!

Megan recently opened a new pop-up shop at 606 Third Street. It’s a cute little house behind Moonshine. The interior is adorably decorated… I wish I could move in! Now on to the wares… I visited the store this weekend and walked out with three new bras. She does amazing work! Her strapless bras are the best I’ve ever used. They stay in place, which is definitely what I’m looking for in a good strapless. Pulling and tugging at your undergarments is not a cute look! The quality is top notch. You can tell Megan loves what she does. She wraps up your purchase in a recyclable box with a bow… when you get home it’s like your opening a present! Forget Victoria’s Secret and all those others shops. Head over to Megan’s. She’ll fix you up!

this is a new small business that specializes in custom lingerie and alterations. they’re just getting into making swimsuits-to-order, too. i got a dress hemmed, halter taken in, and repairs made for a reasonable price & timeframe. the quality of the work is really good and was done by the owner(megan). ask to take a tour of the workshop while you’re there. it’s pretty cool.
