Before I found Barbara’s shop, I looked for Mother of the Bride dresses at a couple of bridal shops. It was depressing — small selections and little help. Most had a «take ‘em or leave ‘em» attitude. I actually had a bridal shop tell me that I needed to buy a certain type dress. I asked why, and the clerk said I needed to buy it because that was what they had. Ridiculous.
I walked into Melba’s Boutique and knew within 2 minutes that I was in the perfect place. Her focus is on YOU, and it may be the one time in the bridal planning process that will happen. She recognizes that, for moms of brides and grooms, this is a big day, and we want to love what we’re wearing.
The shop is small, but she has a wonderful selection. Also, she can order many of her dresses in a wide range of colors. Barbara knows her inventory and is great at helping you find a dress that looks great. I ordered my dress, and she was good at communicating when my dress would be in. Besides all that, shopping with Barbara is just fun! It’s apparent that she loves what she does, and it comes across to her customers.
If you’re a mother of the bride or groom, or if you just need a formal dress, go. You’ll be glad you did.
