Not a big fan of the food. Service workers were great but food was cold and I’ve had way better authentic mexican food.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch! It was great, I even did a special order on my enchiladas because they have 6 different sauces. They were excellent, spinach, mushroom and chicken enchiladas with chipolte sauce and monterrey jack cheese! Melted in my mouth! Delicious! The service was great my waitress was more than helpful and accommodating!

Save yourself… Don’t go! We so wanted to like this place. We’ve lived in the area for over a year and never tried it because of the Unilocal reviews. But we were really hungry and wanted Mexican food. They have an amazing large outside patio, and large yard for kids to play in. The margarita was good, but the food was absolutely terrible. Queso was tasteless, I’m not sure if the beef fajitas were beef and the chicken fajitas had a weird seasoning. Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Really would be great if the food could be improved, because the patio alone is awesome.

Just ho hum tex mex, nothing too special but nothing terrible either. Service was just ok. Food was a bit heavy, but again not terrible. The location is hard to get in and out of.

I really try and enjoy Mesa Rosa more than 3 stars, but I just can’t seem to get to that point. I always hope for it. The food is good, but may require some updating on the menu. The service is always with a big smile, and the nights when they have music on the back deck; really makes it worth the stop. Overall, I appreciate coming here for a quick drink or eat with friends since it’s near my house, but I just can’t see making it a «go to» location or something that earn 4 stars in my review. I’ll keep hoping and I’ll keep coming. the food is good, the drinks are good, it’s just hard to best out other local spots for 4 stars. I will be back still.

I’ve been here many of times and I’ve come to the conclusion that they just cant handle large crowds. On my most recent visit, as I walked in the two girls just were lost and stressed as to where to seat me and my family. We were finally seated outside… but after 15 mins went by with no server, we finally just got up and left. Was a little irritated… to say the least. Will not be returning.

My husband and I met after work for a quick drink and a snack. We were put in the bar where there was literally no air-conditioning? Are they saving money by not using it on an August day in Texas? We SHARED a dinner and each had a drink(my husband had two drinks). Imagine our surprise at getting a bill for $ 40!!! For one dinner and three drinks? That is absolutely ridiculous! The two bourban and cokes that he had were $ 6.75EACH??? And not on happy hour??? Again, absolutely ridiculous! They are served in a high ball glass full of ice… with a splash of Bourban and a splash of coke. AND if they weren’t on happy hour, our waitress absolutely should have mentioned it. We were the ONLY ones there as it was very early afternoon, so not like she was too busy to think of it! When we spoke to the manager, both he and the waitress said«yeah, we should have told you they weren’t on happy hour». Nonetheless no adjustment was made to our bill. The manager in fact even said, «yeah, those drinks are expensive, huh?» «guess the owner is at home counting his money!». Are you kidding me? I work way too hard for my money(and I too am a business owner) to spend $ 40 on one meal and a drink. And…I respect my customers enough to not rip them off. I am so disappointed in this experience!

I haven’t been here in a while but I won’t be back really. This place clearly has no management. We booked a week ago for a large group in the back room and the ONE waiter for 30 people was a joke. After waiting for over an hour for food(in a not full restaurant) the waiter said he was trying his best to get all the food together and bring it out. The food was below sub par and my fajitas were cold with no sizzle at all. Recommendation … Keep driving.

We’ve been going to Mesa Rosa for several years and usually are satisfied, but this time(Friday evening 4÷17÷2015) things didn’t go so well. We had a party of 5, which seemed to take quite a bit longer to seat than smaller parties, but not unreasonably so. Once seated, we waited for about 10 minutes before the waiter came over, or anyone brought us chips and salsa. In the past service has been much more prompt. The waiter took our order for drinks and appetizer, but he could have taken our full order right then, as we’d had plenty of time with the menu! Our appetizer, Rosa Queso, arrived promptly and was good. Our food, on the other hand, took quite a bit longer than usual to arrive. It was good when it did arrive. I don’t recall this restaurant being so LOUD in the past. I think they had the music turned up a bit too loud, especially in the back room where we were seated. While I don’t mind Mexican music, there is more to Mexican music than mariachi, and if I have to listen to music that’s too loud, it would be nice to have some variety. So, in summary, the service was slow, the music was too loud, but the food was good. I’m hoping some of these problems get noticed and fixed.

****WARNING!!!**** I’m not taking any stars away from the restaurant because my recent horrible experience was not their fault(though I do hope they will do something to keep this from happening in the future). B and I were here last weekend, planning to enjoy diner and margaritas on the patio. Everything went well for the first 40 mins. I was contentedly sipping my second drink when all hell suddenly broke loose. A group of people with twelve kids in tow descended into the nice relaxing patio and proceeded to F*** S*** Up! First of all, the group took a table that did not even have enough seats for all their kids, and it quickly became apparent why. The kids never sat down. They whipped out a football, raced for the railings of the porch, climbed over and preceded to run, screaming(I’m not exaggerating) around on the grassy section of the restaurants property. This alone wouldn’t have merited my warning review if the kids would have stayed on the lawn and the parents would have looked up EVENONCE to make sure the kids were behaving. They did not. The kids raced around the whole patio area screaming at the top of their lungs. They never used the stairs, preferring to climb over the railings instead, even when that meant accidentally kicking people at other tables. They purposely broke branches off the potted plants and raced each other through the tables. I have never seen anything like it in my life. The parents never looked up from their drinks. The restaurant did not say anything to them, maybe because it was fairly early and there weren’t a lot of other parties eating on the patio. I told B we needed to leave right away if he didn’t want to have to pull me out of a confrontation with these unbelievably rude and entitled people. So we left. I post this warning because the way these people acted, it seemed like they might have done this before. I’m worried they might be regulars. If they are, then that’s the last time I’m going to Mesa Rosa. So beware if this group comes in when you are trying to eat dinner. You’ll know them when you see them. You’ll recognize them from their picture in the dictionary. It’s right under the definition of «Douchebag.»

Food was OK, HORRIBLESERVICE When we got there we didn’t have to wait but one moment for the hostess to seat us, which was great, she was very kind and friendly! Once seated, it took 10 minutes before our waitress brought us chips and salsa, then another 10 minutes for her to return with our drinks, we only had sodas and tea and we were seated by the kitchen so it should not have taken that long, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt and tried to keep a positive attitude! When we were ready to order she came back, with a very unfriendly attitude and took our order. While we waited for our food one couple actually got up, approached our waitress to tell her they had been waiting for their food for an hour and the people who came after them had already left so they were leaving, the waitress didn’t even apologize, she ignored him and walked away, we heard and saw the whole thing because they stopped beside our table. About 30 – 40 minutes after we ordered our food came out, my sons burger and fries looked great, he seemed to enjoy it but he is only four so he is easily pleased! I got a chili relleno and when my food came out they put the chili relleno on my rice so I had no choice but to eat it like that. Which wasn’t a huge deal it just wasn’t very good. I usually give my rice to my son because I don’t care for rice. The food itself was okay but nothing special honestly. The entire time we ate our food the waitress never came by our table to check on us. I had to give my son some of my tea because she never refilled our drinks. While waiting for her to come back by to get our check FOUR different people went to the bar(across from our table) to pay their checks because she was nowhere to be found. When she did resurface, she gave us our check and tried to run off again, we grabbed her and asked her to take our payment now, then, a manager, we assume, asked if we needed anything when he grabbed our empty plates and, we told him could we please have a to go box and he said YESSURE, then never returned, then our waitress came back another 10 minutes later with our check and card and we left without even taking our leftover food because it was getting late and we were tired of waiting! I will not be returning here, next time we will wait the hour wait at Chuy’s instead of trying a new place!

The service was nice. The food was good but odd. I ordered some suiza burrito. It didn’t come out like I expected it too, but it was still tasty. A $ 12 lunch is not bad. I’ll be back.

I had to think about this one and I’m sticking to my 3 stars. This place is decent and average. There are many, many choices of Tex Mex to choose from in the area so there’s lots of competition. My husband and I had been here once before. We met up with my Aunt for happy hour. Last night we came out because our movie date didn’t go as planned so Hubby said let’s go back to Mesa Rosa for dinner. It was a Wednesday night around 7. It was a beautiful evening so we opted to sit outside. We were seated immediately and a few minutes later our server came to greet us. We quickly ordered water, large frozen margaritas and the Queso Fundido. We had this last time and it was pretty good. It’s melted Jack cheese with Chorizo, Mushrooms and Poblanos. I love the hot cheesiness of this appetizer on a warm tortilla but I wish had a little more flavor or spice. You can taste all the individual components of this dish but I feel that it doesn’t really all together. It’s also greasy which is probably the result of the cheese and chorizo. Hubby ordered the Combination with two crispy beef tacos and two cheese enchiladas. I wanted enchiladas and was having a hard time deciding so I asked my server what she suggested. I got the Rosa enchiladas — Chicken wrapped in flour tortillas with the Creamy Jalapeño sauce. Hubby enjoyed his food. It was a lot of food so he took one taco home. We totally over ordered. My food was good but I thought the chicken was a little dry and I the Creamy Jalapeño sauce was bland and didn’t have as much as a kick. Plus it was also really thin. There’s another Tex Mex joint that made the Creamy Jalapeño famous so it’s hard not to get excited about this sauce and then it’s not as great as you thought it would be. Margaritas a good and strong. I had a hard time finishing my large drink. I got a little to excited when I ordered it. This place isn’t terrible, it’s just average. Service was great and she did a good job.

See my previous review for how things used to be. Now all of the wait staff has changed, and they exhibit a mix of confusion and apathy. Some are trying hard, but aren’t able to carry the whole resteraunt on their own. Very sad, but after way too many disappointments over last few months, we won’t be back.

This breaks my heart to write. We have been enjoying meals at this Mesa Rosa location for the past 6 years. We loved the friendly staff, management crew, delicious food and kid friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately something has happened in the past few months. The food has lost its flair. The staff seems to be confused and untrained. The patio is beautiful, but there is always ALWAYS a wait to be seated there. Today the hostess had us wait 20 minutes for a table on the patio.(At 1:30 on a Friday afternoon) There were NOOTHERTABLESSEATEDONTHEPATIO! It was completely empty. There were 6 small tables seated inside. I hope management takes note of the not so pleasant changes and restores this gem back to its beauty.

I have lived close by this location for over 10 years. I have tried desperately to like them and make them my go to place for food and drink. Food here is mediocre as is service. No matter what dish I order, I either have to make adjustments to it when I order, or, dump a ton of salsa or something on it. This is probably some of the worst Tex-Mex out there. Honestly speaking, there really isn’t anything on the menu I would recommend. Another piss off for me is they count the dranks. I’ve actually had one of the bartenders tell me that I’ve had 64oz of alcohol, and, I cannot have any more. I can respect the fact that they are concerned for not only my safety, but others’ as well, and, their license. Yes, I get that. If I’m acting in a bizarre manner, or, appear inebriated, fine, cut my ass off. But, after two grande margaritas with tuaca floaters(which I guess equals 64oz of alcohol), and I’m still sober, shut up and serve me. For the past 10 years I have been an infrequent customer. Just nothing about this place that makes me wanna go back. Especially after my last visit, which was a week ago. I went in around 1500 on a weekday. I was the only customer. I grabbed a seat at the empty bar, and, waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. During my 10 minute wait there were two employees within 50 feet of me engaged in heavy conversation. They both glanced over at me twice. Then they disappeared into the kitchen. I made my final departure. For mediocre food that is never consistent. For service that just isn’t. For counting drinks. Welcome to my «Nasty List». *Dear Mesa Rosa. Our 10 year love/hate relationship has finally ended. I hate you. Goodbye. Respectfully, Phillip B.
