Hate this location, the people here are super rude and don’t even know their own store policy. I go to the Michaels at Great Hills and Lakeline regularly. This store is nothing compared to those. It’s an older one, but the employees are super snooty and always busy doing nothing to help you. I’d rather make the trip to the other ones than go here and get be-littled by the employees.

This is my favorite arts and crafts store! I go here at least once a week. Staff is great! Inventory is great!

I personally prefer this Michael’s over the one on Brodie lane. The staff is very nice, though not the most educated on their products. They tend to not know where things are but are respectful and apologetic at the same time so I’m at a loss, I chock it up to bad management hiring people that don’t even do crafts or art. As a small business fashion designer I visit a ton of craft supply stores every week, this location is my go to due to the relaxed atmosphere and really nice staff. The location is smaller, has less selection, but is generally 80% less crowded and has happier employees than the Brodie location. It is located right next door to a Petco. A week ago I brought my Pomeranian inside in a doggie dufflebag and let him sit in the basket. I avoided employees and tried to be as quiet as possible. When I was checking out the lady who was at the register was so excited to see him, and nice about it, I was shocked. She called over most of the staff to pet him and let me know that they don’t allow it technically but didn’t mind it if he stayed leashed and in the basket. Ever since then I bring him with me and the staff knows me by name now. I really appreciate being able to walk into any place and the staff says hi to me by name.

This is apparently the smallest of all the Michaels. They still pack their shelves and have a large supply of holiday décor and crafting supplies. If you’re looking for a specific item it can be difficult to find a knowledgable staff member. A few times I’ve had to ask multiple employees because no one could give me a definite answer. I usually just roam the isles which can take a long time… If you do go, get a coupon from their website online.

Absolutely wonderful! I got some framing done and John helped me. Honestly, in the future I’m just going to drop my stuff off and tell John to make it happen. He was such a great designer and he has an artist’s eye. My picture looks like it could be hanging in any mansion. It helps that I got a $ 1000 framing deal for $ 300 with the discounts offered at the time. Allow time for the magic. It takes time and they do not rush customers to decisions here. Give yourself and others plenty of time. Be patient. You won’t leave dissatisfied.

Unfriendly and very slow. Also poorly stocked and messy compared to other Austin area Michael’s.

The staff at this particular Michael’s location are the best in the area — they were very helpful with a defective Ott-Light I brought back twice(finally got one that worked). This is a smaller location than others in the area and sometimes the stock is iffy and they don’t carry the full inventory that other locations do. However, they are willing to call other stores for stock they don’t have. 5 stars for their staff. 3 stars for their inventory. This is one of my favorite Michael’s even if I can’t always find what I need.

I’m impressed by the amount jeweler’s tools they have lately. Michael’s seems to be branching out into more than your average kiddie crafts. Before I had to go to special stores to get my supplies. I would like to see Michael’s restock their shelves more often in the popular areas of the store that see the most traffic. There are a couple things I would like to get, as long as I have my 40% coupon(waiting for the week they are good for). I hope the arts supplies I’m waiting on are in stock the next time I go there. BTW…Does anyone know if these stores check the write up’s on Unilocal.Customers can give this store the knowledge of how to function better, and profit more in the future!

Always have loved this chain, and this is no exception!
