Molly’s is usually the first place we go for our annual sno-cone fix, but we can’t find it this year. They’re not in the usual parking lot by P. Terry’s anymore — does anyone have news on where they are now located? We went to Sno-Beach instead but they don’t put the scoop of ice-cream at the bottom which is one of my favorite things about Molly’s!

Molly’s is my favorite Sno cone. Three reasons: 1. My love of Labrador Retrievers: Molly, is the Terry’s(of P. Terry’s) Lab. 2. All proceeds are donated to the Dell Children’s Hospital. What better excuse to grab something so yummy? 3. The sno cones surely are the best in Austin. I love that they have tons of flavors and always seem to come up with tasty, crazy combos. The prices are ridiculously reasonable, and I love, love, love, that the proceeds go to such a great cause. As mentioned in other reviews, there sometimes is a wait — but who cares? Molly’s sno cups are worth the wait in the heat.

Now that the weather is warming up … popping in for a sno-cup is the logical choice. I like Molly’s because it is right near my house and hell, it’s an airstream. The wait can take some time but the unique flavors make up for it … Wedding cake, Red Velvet Cake, Mojito. I opt for the Cream Soda and Root Beer and it makes for a great sugary compilation.

I’ve only had sno cones from Sno-Beach, so I decided to try this place out since it’s just around the corner. I was disappointed for several reasons. First of all there was three girls working and the line was only 7 people and it took me 30 minutes(literally) to get my sno cone. At Sno Beach, it takes 15 minutes while standing in a 15 person line and they have less people working! I ordered Pina Colada with cream, it was so disgusting. Tastes nothing like Pina Colada, there was no flavor at all except for the sugary taste of it. They must not charge for cream because it’s fake or diluted! The cream was running(looked like milk) and I couldn’t taste it at all. I was absolutely disappointed, never coming back here again. Go to Sno-Beach…so delicious and wonderful service. PS. All the girls working at Molly’s are rude and don’t smile, they are more concerned about chatting with each other.

When it’s 105 degrees, the only thing you can eat with satisfying comfort is a sno-cone. And only $ 1(plus tip for those hard-working ladies)! If you or someone in your party prefers«real food» with their syrup ice, you can eat at P. Terry’s too. I wish they were open all year. Also, I wish for less bees hovering over my sno-cup.

Molly’s is the cutest sno cone place in Austin — that’s for sure. It’s also right next door to P. Terry’s which is always delicious. The sno cones there are a little bit tooooooooo syrup-y sweet, though. I know, I know — too sweet?!? How can that be? I dunno. I’m a huge fan of sweet stuff, but these are just a little bit over the top on the syrup. Snow Beach, which is right down the street, is a LOT better! Oh, another prob with Molly’s is the bee problem. They have spilled syrup everywhere so bees SWARM the counter and trash cans. It can be scary for toddlers and small kids(exactly the kind of customer a snow cone place should be targeting!)

It’s cute and all, but I prefer the Sno-Beach that used to be in this location. The syrups at this location taste just a little more artificial than they should, and the ice is not as smooth as I would like. The price is right, though, and the staff are friendly and eager to help. All in all, not bad.

There is no better way to wrap up a great day at Lady Bird Lake than with an ice cold treat. And with Molly’s just a short walk away, I foresee many a sno-cup in my future! Fabulous Unilocaler Tara M. introduced me to the pleasures of Molly’s. Molly’s is run out of an airstream trailer in the P. Terry’s parking lot. They offer sno-cups in a dizzying array of flavors and four sizes. The smallest size is just $ 1, and was more than I could eat. Toppings are free — mix any combination you like, add a shot of cream — still just a dollar! Need an extra cup of ice for your four-legged friend? No extra charge. At these prices, it’s tempting to bathe in the stuff! On my first outing, I tried the sugar-free tiger’s blood(a mix of strawberry and watermelon). Delish, and so refreshing, although I think I’ll sample another flavor next time(the tamarind intrigued me), and will probably try adding cream for another flavor dimension. I couldn’t get over the texture of the ice — so light and fluffy — «like cotton candy,» Tara said, and she was so right. I don’t know how they do it; I’ll have to go back for further investigation.

This little Airstream Snow Cone stand is located in the P Terry parking lot, perfectly located across the street from Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. So perfectly located that I have a hard time resisting a stop here every time I take the pup to Auditorium Shores or go for a run around the lake. They have so many flavors 78 total with all natural and sugar free options. They offer 4 sizes. I have only had the small which is only 1.00 and plenty of sugary goodness for me; so, I am not sure the prices on the other sizes. So far the Blackberry is my favorite unless I am in the mood for Banana. Not sure of their hours but I know they do not open before noon on weekends.
