Myk’s Leather is great! I brought an oldish, fairly expensive yet dirty light grey leather purse to Myk’s in the hopes of dying it black, which he offered to do for $ 75 including a cleaning so the dye would stick better. After about a week, his wife(who does the leather dying) called me back to say that it would be a bad idea to dye the purse because of its construction(lots of zippers and big pockets) and I wouldn’t like the end result. Because I had been waiting and they initially told me a dye job would be possible, she offered to clean it for free. I really appreciated her advice and offering to cut my cost. They could have dyed it anyways to make the money but instead gave me an honest opinion about the issues related to dying the purse. They really know their leather and details about construction of items and how they’ll do under dye or cleaning. When I came back to pick it up, the purse looked brand new. All of the dirty sections and the dark blue stain from rubbing my jeans were gone. It looks great and I’m really happy with it. I’ll definitely be going to Myk’s Leather again and I highly recommend them.

I’m impressed with Myk’s Custom Leather. I needed to have my motorcycle leather suit repaired. Unfortunately, there are very few shops available in Austin that do this work. Luckily Myk was there to save the day! He repaired the suit faster than he said he would, it looks great, and was very fair on the price. His business is located in North Austin, off 183/Pond Sorings Rd., next door to Raul’s Auto in a business park. Call before you go since it’s a one-man shop so you’d want to make sure he is in the office. Drive toward the back of the business park and look for«building E». It’s a small shop, but that’s a good thing because he can probably charge you less because of the fact that it’s not a big corporate business, and thus he has less overhead.

I needed to have some work done on two leather jackets — he rescued one from the ‘pit of dispair’ and the other was altered to fit me perfectly. I gave him 5 stars for the work he did, the service he provided and his reasonable rates.
