Customer service was very bad and the food did not taste great too. Couple of their food items did not have any salt and when we brought that to the notice of the staff, they did not offer any replacement and instead indicated that is how the dish typically tastes. Their lassi is particularly bad.

I first suspected this might not be authentic Indian food while reading the menu — naan was spelled as «nan.» Then there was the 60s pop music playing while Hispanic staff worked the back. No Indian clientele either. Place was clean and food seemed fresh though. Friendly staff, but would not return or recommend.

The food came in pretty small portions for the price; this worked out since it wasn’t that good. Service was okay, but the server did that awkward thing where they correct your pronunciation by repeating what you said a different way. While talking outside after my meal, I saw a few times in which unprepared food was carried in the cooks’ aprons. I don’t know if that’s bad, but it seemed sketchy.

Biryani is out of this world! Ordered a Chai tea as it was a cold night and 10mins later the waitress came back saying that it would be a little while that she had to make some up… I never did receive my Chai. I ordered an alcoholic beverage which was delicious once it got to me-it had muttled cucumber and jalapeño. Service was poor and it wasn’t busy…

Great place. I actually prefer it to g’raj. The curries are tasty and the naan is delicious. I wish they would add coconut naan to the menu :) but otherwise, everything is good. They also have a lot of gluten free and vegan options so my friend was able to find something and was happy with it.

Nasha is non-traditional … Mexican. Mexican with an Indian flair(this coming from someone of European descent, so take it with a grain of salt). I was craving Indian so my friend and I got here only to find that they were serving enchiladas, with an Indian curry! I liked it. The mixture of the cultural flavors(I’m unsure of what regions!) went very well together. I didn’t love it though, and not for lack of inventiveness. My main problem with the food was that it was a bit on the bland side. Both Mexican and Indian are renown for spice and rich flavors. The dish I had at Nasha was good, but not rich. It really was a missed opportunity, almost as if they were(in my mind) catering to a non-spicy crowd. Still, it was good food overall and I would not frown on the idea of returning to Nasha. Also, the service was great. Friendly, quick, attentive. That’s half the battle at going to a lot of restaurants. Our server had a great smile, knew the menu and stuck a nice balance of keeping our glasses full without bugging us.

Boi oh boi i’d love to give this 5-stars, but the service was meh. The food was def worth 5-stars and I will be back to try more. Though services came off as though yeah-your here-who cares-what would you like to try and let me send your drink looooong after you ordered it. I had to stop myself(or my stomach gave up) I really wanted to try so many items. The homemade salsa was top notch! My drink, Pomegranate Margarita — once it finally graced me with it’s existence was tasty. too sweet but nice with the spicy food. Veg Puff Samosa– exactly like a samosa would be. Potato Cake Wada– super dense and very filling. I wanted to try traditional foods-but those vegan tacos, I had to consume and I am sure glad i did. yummie! yo’d never guess there was tofu in that taco. So-i’ll be back for some Aloo Gobi soon. very soon.

I wanted to love it, but there were several unforgivable issues. I understand fusion. I’m even okay with it. However, if you can’t make a regular saag, or a vindaloo, then you have no business creating fusion menu items like curry tacos or whatever. My saag with chicken was lousy. It wasn’t hot which I requested. It didn’t contain cream as I very clearly requested. It didn’t actually taste like anything other than frozen spinach and onion processed in a blender. It was pretty watery too. What else? It’s got a full bar which is good. It is in a great location on E. 7th. You can’t ask for any substitutions we were told. The samosas are not very good which was ridiculously disappointing. It’s a very loud restaurant. Our server was a nice dude. The service is very friendly, but when I went they appeared to be short staffed. There is clearly a management issue. Someone should let me know if things turn around. I’m not opposed to second chances.

Really cute and casual Indian fare. Not too hard to roll in and get a table, especially late at night, which is a saving grace and how we ended up here. Really my Malvani Roasted Coconut Curry: fresh roasted coconut cooked with onions, ginger, garlic, chilies & cilantro, then pick yer poison, er protein. I went with the paneer and was very happy to have done so. It was luscious and flavorful without being heavy or weighing me down at that late hour. It also did not have an overwhelming coconut flavor. Nicely balanced, so don’t let it scare you off if you’re worried it will smash the other flavors. We also ordered the naan basket. 4 assorted types — plain, garlic, onion, jalapeño. They tried to tell us it was too much for 2 people, but they don’t know how we do it. No bread conquers me. Mostly I just really wanted to try each kind, and I’m glad I did. I really liked the onion and garlic ones, but the plain is classic for a reason, and the jalapeño is excellent as well, but how well it meshes with your meal depends a little more on what you order. But it was a difficult pick! I’m sure the next night we look down and find it’s 11pm and we forgot to eat dinner, I’ll be back here to try the mussels and clams, and there’s tons of vegan and veggie picks if you’re looking to please a group. I’m surprised there weren’t more people there, but from the other reviews, it looks like this one is well-kept secret so check it out for a casual date night, a chill happy hour, or a fun group outing.

This is the place I take any person I want to impress and sit around laughing with. It’s charming and intimate, with that Austin vibe like you’ve found some sort of secret. Every time I go here I share dishes with my guest. I am not vegetarian, but when dining with one I’ve not missed the meat. Veggie or lamb samosas are a great start. The two sauces it comes with are tasty. The vindaloo curry is my favorite. I’ve had it with lamb, paneer and chicken. I would always recommend getting the jalapeño naan to soak up some of the juices.

They definitely got the growing pains out of the way and I like this place. Went for lunch and theres always a lunch special, big plate of different items and priced good at $ 9. Theres always one daytime server, she’s been there forever, and she is fantastic. Only go about once a month and she recognizes us and remembers our order. Pretty cool! Service is great and food is fast out of the kitchen. AND they have Indian music playing! A TV with Bollywood movies would be awesome…

Okay, Here’s nasha In a nutshell: Friendly and prompt service. Small intimate vibe(great for dates) Everything comes out really hot and fresh, in comparison to other busier indian restaurants. The food is truly authentic and delicious, very good tikka masala with great texture. affordable and great during happy hour. My girlfriend and I frequent indian joints very often, I definitely think that we’ll keep coming back.

This is definitely fusion Indian and not traditional Indian for most of the menu items. I have to say I really love their plate ware and glassware. Do: 1. Come for lunch or happy hour so you won’t be out too much if you don’t like it 2. Order the lamb samosas because they aren’t traditional but, they are amazing 3. Raita Sauce: Order it and dip your nan bread into it(think gyro sauce with a bitter taste) 4. Order the garlic nan 5. If the millionaire’s curry is on the lunch plate special order it and gobble up the delicious green beans 6. Mix the garbanzo beans in sauce into your basmati rice and curry 7. Do realize the curry is going to be very mild compared to traditional Indian curry Don’t: 1. Add shrimp to your curry lunch plate because the quality and portion size isn’t worth the extra money 2. Skip the«salad» that comes on the lunch plate special because it’s just dry lettuce(Not good) 3. Don’t expect to sit outside and eat on the patio in the heat because it isn’t covered 4. Parking is limited in their private lot so get there early 5. Skip the weird dessert that comes with the lunch plate because it’s a weird paste in a cup 6. Don’t try to pack up leftovers because they won’t reheat well 7. Try to order things closer to traditional Indian to curb any type of disappointment I did enjoy parts of my lunch here but, I’m not sure if it was enough to bring me back even though the lunch special price vs. portion was amazing.

Came here for dinner Saturday night with a couple friends. I had the Bombay drink with cucumber lime and jalapeño — highly reccommend. My husband and i split the chicken tikka masala, and the whole curried mussels with jalapeño and garlic naan. Chicken tikka is our go to, and Nasha’s did not dissappoint. The one star taken is for their mussels — out of the 7 given to you, 2 were fully closed and one tasted iffy, which made me nervous. Otherwise would have been 5 stars. Our friend got the chicken tandoori tacos which she said were really good.

This is another ethnic place in Austin, which seems to satisfy the palate’s need for Indian spices while not providing an authentic experience. The best thing and the only thing on the menu I would go back for would be Tulsi Margarita. muddling holy basil into a margarita/mojito is genius. The apps — lamb puffs and szechuan chicken were decent, with the latter being woefully small. The egg burji tacos, which is fried eggs with Indian spice in a tortilla is just that, nothing extraordinary. The Malvani curry claims to be super authentic, I haven’t had this before, but the coconut was very raw and it could be from a plastic carton vs being freshly dessicated. The millionaires curry was nothing spectacular. Call out to them having chappatis, Indian flat bread from a stove top pan and not from a tandoor. Decent service, it was a little slow, they said they were short staffed. Not a place I would particularly pine for, but will stop by for a Tulsi Margarita if I were in the area,

It’s nice to have Indian food on the East side, even if what Nasha is best at is not traditional Indian food. The atmosphere is fitting; cute house, cool mural, authentic silverware, and pop Bollywood music. Service is efficient and helpful for the staff size. The Good: *Full bar and half off happy hour specials on all their non seafood appetizers. *Two great lunch specials everyday. *The sweet cardamon lassi was deeelicious. *Lamb samosas are non traditional, more like empanadas but I loved them. *Their more European or fusion dishes are their tastiest, particularly the millionaire’s curry and the tikka masala. *Naan is good, on the thin side and well toasted. *“Desi Hot” is actually really spicy! As in eyes watering-nose running-I need to slow down for a minute-spicy! From The Bad to The Ugly: *Paneer given in an order is rather skimpy, there were maybe 4 pieces? *That delicious lassi from earlier? I was a little concerned that it was poured from a premixed pitcher and arrived warm. *The saag was water logged and all the flavor was lost in the non-reduced sauce. *Vindaloo was absurd with the amount of tomatoes, it covered up the oily, spicy, vinegaryness of the dish. There are other dishes to get your tomato sauce fix, leave vindaloo alone! *The Korma had so much added sugar, I had to send it back. Tomatoes, cream, and nuts blended together should be sweet enough. *Added sugar is a concern here, maybe they’re trying to cater to a more Western palate, but I ordered the Peshwari naan described as being filled with nuts, nothing else, and it was covered in sugar, literally. It was like dessert, I saved it and had it with a cup of coffee at home! Here’s the thing about 3 stars, they’re not bad places. Some 3 stars are places I frequent, and I can see myself coming back to Nasha, but your enjoyment will vastly depend on your prior experiences and expectations. Stick to the fusion food, stay away from the sugar, maybe go late post drinking, and be careful getting out of the front lot with the giant Nasha sign!

I came here with a group of coworkers a couple days ago for lunch. Let me say this… places like this are why I LOVE Austin. Places like this are what make me want to abandon Houston and move to this amazing city. By recommendation, I ordered the Tikka Masala with Paneer. It was divine. I probably could have ordered hot, but I ordered medium and it was creamy, and amazing and delicious. We also ordered the Naan basket which was THE bomb. The Jalapeño Naan was my fav. The service was as good as it could get… not too in your face and not too distant either. Just right. They also can veganize almost any dish except for a couple according to the waitress. Next time I’m in town I willlllll be stopping here.

Nasha has a fun tex mex twist on Indian food! The mango lassis were great. I loved the poached egg curry. The outdoor seating area was comfortable, and pretty quiet but it was a weeknight. Next time I’m trying the Sassi Lassi!

I have to give this place two thumbs up! Our team went there today for lunch. I think they have a good bit of variety on the menu. I ordered the Kheema Masala. It was SO good. I highly recommend it. The dish was perfect to the tea. Not only was the food good but the service was even better. Our server knew we were coming beforehand and had everything set up for us already. Thanks so much!

Nasha is an interesting addition to the east side. Casa Columbia was a place I think we all had a soft spot for though so I was pretty dubious. Nasha has certainly made the space their own with that gorgeous mural on the side and the cute outdoor patio. The Indian food is different. A little fusion-y with different dishes like millionaires curry, kaliwado shrimp, and mussels malvani. Skip the cocktails — the ones we had were overly sweet or spiced — though the wine we had was pretty decent. We ordered goat masala tacos and szechuan chicken. Both were delightful if a little small. The most important thing to know is that they are open late. Really late. Like if you’re on the east side having some drinks and want to eat Indian food this is the place to go.
