Where did you gooooo? I loved naan stop! They had the MOST delicious saag paneer dish I’ve ever had. It was spicy and amazing. We miss you, naan stop! Come back.

A food truck with Naan. If you love Indian food and you’re out drinking on 6th, then this is the place to stop by! Delicious!

I’m a little late with this review but after a night of drinking my gf and I were roaming the food truck scene near 6th street. One place she wanted to try was Naan Sense since we havent had indian food in a while. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and as we waited I was talking to the guy who took our order(maybe he was the owner?) but he was very friendly. I told him I was from Cali visiting and we were discussing the whole food truck craze. When we arrived back at the place we were staying we opened up the container and saw that the chicken tikka masala was still hot and poured over a side of rice. The dish was actually pretty good for something that came out of a food truck. There was a good spice factor but nothing that would make you grab a bottle of water. I do wish the naan was a bit thinner but I couldn’t complain the dish was still delicious.

I’m hesitant to give a 5 star review from a single visit, and in this case, from a single dish, but wow. My wife, stepdaughter and I walked by Naan Sense on our way to our dinner destination(nearby Pelons) and I couldn’t resist a quick appetizer from a food truck, as so many of my meals in Austin have come from these little eateries. Upon looking at the modest menu, and knowing that my wife can’t handle the big heat, we chose the venerable chicken tikka masala. It was delivered in a round foil container, and after I grabbed spoons and napkins, we took a seat and dug in. The chicken was very tender and juicy, and the sauce was some of the most flavorful tikka masala I’ve ever had. It did have more spice than I’m accustomed to, but not overpoweringly so. It was loaded with flavor, too, and the basmati rice was tender, not mushy or dry and made a great«taming» for the heat. All in all, a super dish. I’d love to have tried more, but our main course awaited, I’ll be sure and drop by again if I see them on my next trip to Austin.

I have been wanting to try Naan Stop for months, but I keep missing them… until yesterday. I was lucky enough to spot them at lunch time(they travel to different buildings during lunch!) The owners were SUPER nice and accommodating. They served me even after they had closed. I told them to serve me whatever was easiest… I eat anything. I’m thinking it was a chicken Tikka Masala, and it was Wonderful. Deep flavors, spice, heat, tender, yummy. I’ll definitely be back for dinner to try more flavors. Thank you Naan Stop!

It was dead when I walked by early in the evening, then slammed with«naan» stop business late at night as folks trickled out of the bars My chicken and naan roll-up hit the spot, with spicy and crunchy veggies. I heard there was a sad time when only pizza and sausages were available downtown but this truck more than fills the Indian void. I need to try the paneer and chaat next time…

The chicken wraps are orgasmic. I cry when this food truck isn’t open. UPDATE: Damn. They changed the name from Naan Stop to Naan Sense, and their menu also changed. Chicken wraps aren’t on the menu, but they’ll make you one if you ask for it.

Great food after a night out drinking. Finally some alternative to pizza, hot dogs and BBQ. Truth be told, the food isn’t out of this world, but it tastes so good when you’re drunk… EDIT: On second thoughts, it tastes great even when you aren’t drunk :)

Seriously, best food downtown. For $ 6.50 you get a buttery naan filled with fresh veggies, the most delightful seared chicken, and some kickass spicy sauce. Oh and last time it’s had a an egg fried into the naan– a yummy surprise waiting for me halfway through my wrap. And could these people BE any nicer?!? I don’t know how they deal with drunk assholes every weekend and still smile and laugh with their customers. Sometimes I drive all the way downtown from Brentwood on a Friday night just to get a wrap from these folks. Yes, that’s partly cause I’m way lame and stay home to eat trailer food on Friday nights… but it’s mostly cause I can’t stop thinking about those dang spicy wraps.

I visited this trailer pretty much everyday of SXSW to get the paneer parantha. It pretty much is awesome! Did you ever think you could wrap some Indian goodness into a pita in the street and eat it while walking? Me neither! Naan Stop has figured it out… The naan is excellent: a little non-traditional in that the color and texture seems to be a bit different. It seems almost like an under-cooked tortilla… they must have to undercook it so it can stay soft and pliable to make a wrap out of it. The paneer is great and has the right amount of kick to it. If you don’t like spicy, this might not be the wrap for you. Nice staff and great product. I will definitely eat at this place again if I’m downtown.

What do you call an Indian babysitter… A naan-y Hit this truck up a couple of times during SXSW the 1st time I ordered the Chicken Kathi Roll and loved it, spicy kick, crunchy lettuce, buttery chicken goodness wrapped up in a naan… freaking perfectly portable SX munchies. The brother and the BF got the beef Kathi Roll and loved it as well. We all split some samosas and I have to say they are some of the finest in Austin I’ve ever had, the yogurt sauce is awesome. Second time 2 days later I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and found it incredibly dry and flavorless, my bro felt the same. we were sad after singing Naan-Stop praises all morning. I plan to return to give it another good old college try but consistency is very important Naan-Stop don’t let me down!

I rarely go out late at night because I have work or row the next morning. Those days of staying out late and going to work the next morning are long gone for me. I have to have my sleep. That’s the normal lifestyle I have adopted. Well now comes what I shall call my SXSW alter ego — staying up late at night, listening to bands, ringing in my ears… etc… It’s late on Red River during SXSW and I think to myself no other food trailer serves Indian food. Now my craving starts. I rather get their veggie samosas than get some stale pizza. The veggie samosas are hit and miss. Sometimes it’s spicy and other times they are stale. They also serve the veggie samosas with ketchup which is very weird and I ask for the chutney. The woman seems cool. The line goes fast and you better know what you want.

Lets start off with, the people that work here are Extremely nice and will describe each and every thing on the menu if you aren’t familiar with the items with No problem. The Problem is, everything is Bland and I think this place would be good for someone who hadn’t had little to no experience eating indian food. Those people who eat Chipotle once or twice and think they are the ‘Mexican Food/Burrito’ Connoisseur would Love this place and I feel like they are the ones 4 and 5 starring the piss out of it on Unilocal.I am not saying I am the God of Taste or anything. like my name isn’t Tasteos(Like Kratos ahhh Get it? Get IT!!! See WHAT I DIDTHERE?!?) but the food, which I had Saag Paneer, Chana Masala and Veg Samosas and Naan, was a bit Bland. The only thing that was enjoyable was the Rice. The rice was reeally good. I do recommend this place over Tarka Kitchen… Tarka Kitchen is Ass.

So I ran into this place(not literally) on Eid Al-Fitr, when there was a small festival near my neighborhood in north Austin. I pulled over and ordered some snacks. Wonderful job! Freshly prepared! Clean, clean, clean cooking spaces. And really kind folks running the truck. My only complaint is that the truck parks in the same parking lot where I first encountered it, teasing me with its goodness. But, it only serves downtown. C’mon Naan Stop! Broaden your horizons! Feed North Austin! We’re too old and grumpy to go downtown, even for great Indian food.

Alright, I’ve only been to Naan Stop once, but I’ve had their samosas twice. A special thanks to my friend Kokila who happened to have an extra samosa for lunch one day. «What on earth is this delicious pouch of potato?» I asked after taking a bite off of one of the corners. «You like it?» she replied. «Mmhmmm» I mumbled as I walked away with my plate. I’m as white as white can be, especially when it comes to food and dancing. I can’t handle a lot of spice, so sometimes ethnic foods and I can’t get along. However, the samosas at Naan Stop and I are good friends now. A samosa is a fried pouch of potato with all kinds of spices and herbs and deliciousness tucked inside. I don’t even know what’s going on in there, and part of me doesn’t care. The fried dough is crispy and chewy and so good, and all those flavors really pack a punch, but it’s not SPICY! If you’re new to Indian food, please try one of these samosas. I think they’re only $ 1.50 each, so dig out those pennies and dimes in your couch cushions and car floorboards and head over to Naan Stop to pick up a samosa or two. I can’t say I’ve eaten anything else at Naan Stop, but I’m willing to give it a try and update my review.

Awesome awesome awesome! Best Indian food in all of Austin. Not exaggerating to the slightest bit. I have been to every Indian food joint in Austin and hundreds across the US but this one is totally different. They have kept it really simple with a Chipotle-style menu but they have gotten the food right, to the T. We tried the Kathi Roll and the Chicken Wrap. Mind=blown! Loved both. After biting into the Kathi Roll, I immediately knew I had to have more. We doubled up the order and hogged naan-stop ;) You guys give this place a shot, you will love it. Parking can be a little bit of a pain but Austin Downtown parking will cost you no more than $ 5. Also, it’d be nice if they answered their phone ;) Enjoy!

MUSTTRY — Kathi Roll Absolutely the best you can find in Downtown Austin filled with food trucks. This place is just way too awesome, unfortunate that they are in Austin and not in Dallas. Told them about our driving down from Dallas to try them out and they fixed us well :-)) Tried the Paneer Kathi roll and Palak Paneer and both were just mouth-watering delicious. Forget about the ambiance of a restaurant, if you are serious about the food you put into your stomach, Naan Stop is a no-brainer. Now I have a permanent place for my «Desi» food fix in Austin. Too bad they are not available during the day :-(

Naan Stop delivers on what other Indian restaurants here in Austin tend to lack: taste. Rather than focus on what a Western audience thinks Indian food should taste like, which the majority of Indian restaurants do, Naan Stop focuses on what North Indian food actually tastes like. I tried the saag paneer and chicken wrap and was not disappointed by any means. Being North Indian myself, I was delighted to finally taste high quality Indian food in Austin. My only regret is not trying more; will have to wait till next time which I can assure you will happen very soon. If you want great, authentic Indian food at a reasonable price, prepared by two of the nicest people in the business who are actually Indian and know what they’re doing, then go to 7th& Red River on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 7:30pm-3am to get your Indian food fix. If you want generic Indian food that’s over-priced and under flavored, go to G’raj Mahal or Clay Pit.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, I’ve frequented many food trucks around the country and I can honestly say I’ve never walked away feeling as satisfied as when I left Naan Stop last night — get your mind out of the gutter. As a(temporary) vegetarian, I appreciated the wide selection of vegetarian options designated by a «(v)» on the menu(e.g. — saag paneer plate $ 6.50, panner wrap $ 5.50, garlic naan $ 1.50, samosas $ 2.00, etc…) However, they also offered several traditional meat dishes such as their well-received chicken tikka masala plate($ 6.50) and chicken wrap($ 5.50) for the omnivores of ATX. I ordered a saag paneer plate(one of my favorite Indian dishes) and chatted with the owner as she prepared my order. Two scoops of basmati rice and a generous serving of the saag paneer with some chopped chili peppers for an extra kick. I loved it! The spinach concoction was creamy and flavorful, cooked with onions and tomatoes and the right amount of cubed paneer. The garlic naan was warm and pillowy, making it a perfect complement to my dish. The husband and wife who own Naan Stop are the nicest and most friendly people you will meet. They clearly understand the importance of good service and boy do they deliver! Not only is the food delicious, authentic, and fresh, the owners show that they genuinely care about their customers. I’ll definitely be back — and I’ll bring everyone I know with me!
