it’s good but it’s small for the price pros –very tastey, but most shawarma is yummy to me anyway –nice guys working there –pretty fast service cons –small portions for $ 8 for me –barbarella drunken customer base haha

The following are all facts; I was hammered. The chicken shawarma was DELICIOUS. Brown people spicy is no joke. I thought my face might melt off. The guys in the truck were really cool. I would go here again with or with out 13 hours of drinking.

Def one of my fave go-tos for drunken late night tastey-ness. I like that they have a «Chipotle-themed» menu breakdown. 1. Chose a Wrap, Plate or Salad 2. chose your protein 3. Add ons? I’m vegan I always do the salad and the falafel! or sometimes the wrap. I always add hummus! Gotta have the hummus. I get it «White People Spicy» (Okay, this is kind of racist no? There’s also«Brown People Spicy» I thought it was funny but one time some other drunk people of mixed race were super offended in line behind me… which got me thinking, I kind of agree. BUTWHATEVER I am white and it’s the perfect amount of spice for me so F* it! Hahaha) Super

Open late. Perfect after a night downtown. White people spicy is hot! I can only imagine what brown people spicy is like. Talk about the ring of fire! But it is very tasty.

It’s pretty good, I like it a lot. I didn’t know they had two locations, which is awesome.

The food is amazing. This is how Mediterranean food should be. Get the chicken plate. Highly recommended.

Chicken Shawarma Plate with Brown People Spicy is the shit!!! This is a must have if you go to Shawarma Point. I had the Lamb/Beef plate earlier and it was pretty good too. But, after having the Chicken Shawarma Plate with Brown People Spicy I felt compelled to write this review! Keep up the good work guys!

Great food! Love the chicken over rice with spicy sauce and the chicken shawarma wrap!

I’ve been wanting to try this place forever because one of my friends raves over it and I’m glad I did! It’s open really late and the food was probably as good as it can get at 3 am… It’s really similar to halal bros with the same white and hot sauce concept and I would say that I would prefer halal bros over it. But it was still good! I got my food really fast but my friends ordered after me and their food literally took forever so I’m guessing service is a hit or miss. But definitely try them out!

Hands down best chicken wraps in Austin. You’ll be amazed regardless of what you order.

The good: Try the chicken plate(brown people spicy) and I highly recommend it! It’s a generous size as well so if you’re not very hungry it’s good enough for two. :tip: add extra white sauce! The bad: in tiny letters in the side of the truck there is a sign reminding you of a $ 1 fee for all credit card transactions. It’s pretty cheesy to charge your customers a extra fee for a CC payment! I would come here more often if not for that fee. Update: Was told by the owner that the $ 1 cc transaction charge was a rule set for every food vendor in their lot during SXSW. Customers will not have a transaction fee any other time of the year.

Shawarma Point I wandered into your establishment during lunch for my Thai massage class. Why not? There are picnic tables, it’s sunny and nice and I’ve freebased enough claritin to live in this city without committing hara kiri. I peruse the menu and order my beef/lamb shawarma as the plate with rice. I’m asked if I want it white people hot or brown people hot. Since the guy I’m talking to is brown and I’m white(like Jim Gaffigan Pale), I pause for a second and ponder the race relations debacle I’m about to succumb to. I begin to ask, «What kind of brown people? Thai? Indian? African?» I gaze to my right and see the thermometer and announce… make it white people hot, no ghost chilis for me. $ 9 bucks later I wander to my spot in the shade with a bottle of water. The guy comes out a few minutes later and casually hands off what could have been a foil dish of porn. Booty so curvy and round… oh wait, we’re talking about food. Shawarma that’s been on a vertical roaster and caramelized like the food of the gods it is. Marinaded in the spices and sauces that Sirens tended to while they washed laundry in O Brother Where Art Thou. The rice was a light yellow and each grain was unstuck to the next. It was like they all got together and decided they’d snuggle underneath this meat of love I could say love meat but that’d be gross. The lettuce and tomato on the side was cool and refreshing while the cucumber sauce was tart and tangy thus meshing a barrage or flavors and textures into a nearly ecstasy like experience that made me forget people were watching me eat like a hog at a trough. The chile sauce that came with was hot, think sambal but fresh. I don’t believe this was bottled folks and it blended with the food just like all the other flavors in such a way that I wondered what culinary Motzart was in that food trailer figuring this out. I sadly finished my tin plate, considered licking yogurt off the pan but allowed myself tie to breathe. Another plate? I refrained, I had class to teach and it’d be too much in my belly. I looked at the trailer longingly and noticed that they cater. My only thought was how many more Thai massage classes would I have to teach to get them to set up outside of my home permanently.

Like whoa! I dunno if it was the awesome jams they were playing. The guys across the street dancing to said jams. Our reasonably priced street food meal. Or the two guys who promised it would be delicious, the same two guys who were so super nice and friendly taking our order and serving us, but I’m still impressed with my first(and def to be a regular) visit. Still salivating. The flavors were on point. *No pun intended.(; Thanks guys. I’ll come back on a Tuesday… so its appropriate to play that catchy track.

This place is perfect for drunken, late-night munchies. I get the gyro with brown people spicy and it’s really tasty. The hot sauce has a nice kick to it and is very flavorful. My only qualm is the size is pretty small for $ 7 a pop so I can’t give this place 5-stars. Still the small size doesn’t stop me from coming here whenever I need late-night food in the area.

Love it! Not only for late night muchies. I live in Round Rock and would gladly drive to downtown Austin for their Gyro Plate. mmmm, til next time! …five months later, greed does does ugly things to businesses. Servings sizes have been cut in half, yet prices remain the same. With steep competition in the area, ill walk my behind to the next truck.

The concept of food trucks in Austin isn’t new, however in the midst of numerous food truck options Shawarma Point has found a way to stand out above the rest. From it’s simplified yet delicious menu and it’s hilarious spin on the Spice Level Chart it makes for the perfect choice weather you are out and about exploring Austin during the day or just wrapping up a long night of partying at night. The customer service, food quality, and price for the food are all excellent! I’ve ate here numerous times and I usually end up leaving with a to-go order as well! I highly recommend the chicken plate with brown people spicy! Oh and don’t forget to ask for extra white sauce!!! You won’t regret it!

No clue what these«4 – 5 star» reviews came from! Possibly because this food truck sits and posts on one of the drunkest weekends in Austin that people tend to forget quality and price when their minds and judgements have been tampered. Despite the fact the cashier self tipping himself thinking me and my friends were drunk and wreck less and him looking like some hoodlum not knowing, our food came out to taste drizzled and soaked in their«brown people hot sauce» and what seem to be their other signature sauce. Taking a bite into it everything fell out and drizzled on their dirty cafeteria table. It was unfortunate to have tried this place.

After a night on the town, we stopped by for a late dinner. I got the Chicken Shawarma and it was rich and savory. The cream sauce was especially good. My only real complaint is that it was a bit pricey for a somewhat small portion, I was still kind of hungry afterwards.
