This place really is as good as it gets! What a friendly staff and great environment, not to mention the food… mouth watering.

In terms of food his place is great! Good location, GREATFOOD, and lots of good options. I would give it five stars for the food but I have to give it 4 for a couple reasons… Understaffed: –They have had a help wanted sign in the door for the past 6 months or more and it shows. This place gets super crowded during lunch hours and it is obvious the staff is stressed and always in a rush. They do a good job at keeping up but their stressed out/in a rush vibe really throws off the atmosphere and makes you feel uncomfortable. –There is one cashier in particular that always seems frazzled and freaked out. Payment and Prices: –It’s a bit overpriced. $ 9-$ 12 per sandwich plus addition for add ons? I could go to Quiznos across the street for almost half the price. That being said I prefer New World Café because it’s ALOT better. –Also their credit card reader/internet is ALWAYS broken or slow. They say it everytime I try and pay here and always ask if I could use cash. Sometimes they have to take a carbon print of my card which I feel to be insecure. I don’t want my card number out floating about. I love this place so I know they can turn it around!!! Keep up the hard work and hire some more people!!! This is a great local Austin restaurant and I am looking forward to seeing them continue to shine.

I loved this restaurant under the original owners when it first opened. I loved this restaurant with the new owners. Some of the cashier/wait-staff recently though has really killed the vibe that the management excels at. That may be just an isolated people problem but has been a primary reason I’ve not been back as much lately. The food here, and the sandwich bread in particular, are really good and predictable. It’s a great location for a bite with friends, with your kids or an informal business meeting.

Found this place on Unilocal and was glad I did. My mom(87) and I visited here for a late lunch. The place was empty but fortunately we went in anyway. We both got ½ sandwich and soup. The sandwich was huge and the broccoli cheese soup was delicious. Loved the chicken curry salad.

— Very limited options for sandwiches — They upcharge you for every little item. My son wanted black olives and they said it would be additional cost. Same thing for cheese and other veggies. — We had bought NeWorld Café’s discount coupon from . When we showed the certificate, the owner refused to take it and said that they are not participating in the program anymore. I requested if they can honor it since I had already bought it, but they wouldn’t honor the request. Note that I had bought the certificate that same day morning, so it was 100% valid. — We hardly saw a couple customers in the restaurant, so we would definitely not recommend this place to others.

I used to enjoy coming to eat at the restaurant until I found a short hair/eyelash in my food and the manager just kept giving excuses as to how«strange» it was to find it in my salad. Whilst I over heard her talkin to her staff about how it was mine which it obviously wasn’t. Worst customer service I’ve experienced she should of apologized and been polite instead of making up excuses.

I love when I use Unilocal to find a new place in an area I’m unfamiliar with and it’s total gold. That’s how I felt about my experience here today. The woman taking orders was so friendly and helpful… I could tell her number one priority was taking care of the customers. I went with her recommendation of the Pastrami Reuben and a cup of broccoli cheese soup, and man was she spot on! It was so perfect… so so perfect. The soup was actually CHEESY!!! Can you believe it?! I couldn’t…I had to resist licking the cup clean. The sandwich was artfully constructed with the finest of ingredients, and that was definitely reflected in the taste and overall presentation. It was a beautiful, yummy lunch that I know I will be craving in the days to come. I’m going to have to try the curried chicken salad that everyone is raving about, too! Everyone who works here made eye contact and worked as a cohesive team… something that seems to be lacking these days. So glad to have found this place(thanks, Unilocal!), and I look forward to making return visits to see what else they do so well!

I visited this restaurant for my first time on July 2, 2015. I was extremely hungry so I ordered quite a meal. I asked the cashier what he recommended, which I don’t usually do, but I did not have a taste for a certain sandwich, so I was flexible. He recommended the French Dip, which had thinly sliced roast beef, with provolone, served with a side of Au Jus. I thought the Au Jus would be too salty but it was just right. I also had a side of potato salad, which has some mustard and a small amount of pickles… not relish. My favorite item by far was the broccoli cheese soup. The broccoli cheese soup I have gotten at other establishments often has pureed broccoli, but this was much better. There were tender florets of broccoli in the soup. I was pleasantly surprised. I will be visiting again.

This location is a satellite lunch hub of the already established NeWorlDeli on Guadalupe St, and it’s amazing. What I tried: Their broccoli and cheese soup is so delicious and flavorful. Best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I tried their«award winning» Reuben, and while I despise sauerkraut, my companion really enjoyed it. I tried«the Rachel» with turkey pastrami and this sandwich is DECADENT. Apparently, it’s Austin’s Bucket List Sandwich. I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tried. Honestly, this location is very clean and polished. It is calm and peaceful and very cozy. Their staff has been friendly and informative. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new lunch spot.

Tried this for the first time today. Wow. Certainly a food gem in the Far West area. This is no doubt a superb place to grab lunch. Very low key atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the Rachel w/corned beef with sweet potato fries. These were some of the better sweet potato fries I’ve had and they were served hot and crispy. The sandwich was also delicious and LARGE. Probably would be good with half and the fries. It was the perfect combo of beef, cole slaw, and Russian dressing. I will definitely be coming back to this place. One of the better sandwich shops to visit in Austin.

I love this place. If you’re looking for a good sandwich and soup, it’s a must-try. My favorite thing to get here is a sandwich with Jewish rye bread and their tomato soup. Their bread is huge! I can usually just eat half of the sandwich and end up saving the other half for later. The staff is friendly and everything I’ve tried so far is good.

What a great place to lunch. I have been here twice, and met one of the owners this week. Seems odd for such a great spot to be in a strip center. The Pastrami served on Jewish Rye is over the top. I also tried the soup of the day, something potato, it too was fabulous. Lots of parking, and the staff both times have been quick and speedy. Food was top shelf. The weird tea wasn’t for me, lol This is definitely a neighborhood place, bustling busy, but both times there has been ample seating, no wait. I plan my trip to the Far West Blvd area just to be able to lunch there!

Just tried the Turkey Pastrami in Rachel form. I almost pulled a Sally from«When Harry Met Sally» in the restaurant, except I wouldn’t have been faking it. How this place never disappoints me is amazing in itself.

This place is great!! I always get their curried chicken salad sandwich and it never disappoints me. The food is well worth the price and the staff is very helpful and extremely nice. Everything I’ve had here so far is tasty so I’m not afraid to get anything on the menu. Would totally recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a healthy alternative.

What a cute neighborhood deli! I live in the neighboring & I had no idea this place was here. French dip is always a hit in my book and was wonderful. The au jous was fantastic. Tuna melt was delicious, but is a little on the sweet side(had sweet relish)… The Cuban is probably my favorite! Oh my goodness, I dream about this sandwich. You can order fresh made soups, chips or fries with your sandwich. The service was professional and the establishment was very clean.

Surprisingly good sammiches! I had the Cuban and it’s the 2nd best I’ve had in any city. She had half of a pastrami and soup. Service is not flexible. 2 employees had to consult with each other and the kitchen for 10 minutes to verify that they could serve us half of a COLD pastrami sammich. Apparently we couldn’t have half of a HOT pastrami because of… reasons.

Was passing by and thought to myself«Oh, look — New World Deli has a second location. I love New World Deli!» This isn’t New World Deli. Which explains why I was so confused when I looked at their menu. The sandwiches were fine — pretty much what I might make at home, including on store-bought bread. But, I didn’t have to make them at home, which is a plus. And, the fillings were certainly more generous than I would have at home. Can get a half sandwich /half soup combo which is a good way to go, especially since the sandwiches are well stacked. Service a little spotty. Seems to be high schoolers behind the counter unsure of if they should be interested in their work, or if that’s uncool.
