My friend and I we when there on Monday around 6:30 and we took seat at the bar and the bartender ask for our ID and we give it to him, at the end they refused to server us just bc we had Mexican ID, I don’t see why thats a problem we birth Mexicans and there’s nothing we can do about. I came here on New Year’s Eve ²⁰¹⁴⁄₂₀₁₅ and this was one of my first stops on what was a very long night. I was interested in this place after having gone to Peche and although it started off slow and was not particularly busy in the early evening, that quickly changed.
Our bartender was a scruffy dude who had moved from Louisiana. My partner asked if he had any special drinks that he made particularly well and he suggested a «Volcano.» The drink was VERY strong and although I did not notice it at first, I quickly realized how strong it was after I left and started drinking elsewhere. I do not remember his name, but I do remember those drinks! Kudos, man! The drinks were not too expensive and I am always a fan of a strong drink that really gets your night started.
The crowd had quite a variety of people, from people visiting from other countries to locals. The energy was great and people were just there to have a great time and celebrate. OCH is a great bar to begin or end your night.

Fast bartenders. Everyone is fierce and fine! We played darts and entertaining circus games. Danced the night away to great music

Recently went to OCH again and had a much better experience! Definitely looking forward to going again.

Came here the night before Halloween and had a blast.
Bartenders are friendly and fun, pours are generous, and there’s a good fun vibe and good dancing music as well as a decent dance floor. My favorite bar of the night.

It’s been a few years since my funny review and I think the Wednesday night crappy karaōke night has been scrapped. This is now a go to spit for me. Great drag shows.

This is a pretty dependable little bar. Quick bartenders, multiple bars, strong drinks, decent prices, and no bullshit. There’s a nice crowd, never too rowdy or angsty. Just a good all around time.
Most recently I brought a couple of straight folks in, and there was a drag show going on, which was PERFECT for scaring the shit out of them. Got a text the next day from one being like… dude, i went to a drag show…
Seldom a line. Step right in. Especially for Sunday Funday.

Not a very good place to find your next wife as a heterosexual male however I like the convenience of the large mirrors near the bar area to make sure my aesthetics are on point.
I love how both indoor bar areas are massive. It makes it a lot easier to order and get yo BAC pumping.

Great music, atmosphere, staff and hospitality. OCH has been the only bar to live up to my standards. I can guarantee you’ll have the best time of your life! If you don’t, then sue me lol… Three different bars in one location, you won’t be disappointed.

This will always be my the go to bar for me and my husband. They have draft beer which is a big plus for me, and Brandon (bartender at the sports bar area) always treats us well. Shows here are decent and the music is pretty good too.

DJs and sound system need a ton of work and training. Way too much bass. Turn down the bass so we can hear more than the thuds.
Drinks are average to poor and overpriced.

I always have so much fun at OCH. I come here for the drag shows… but usually stick around a bit for dancing. The bartenders are super sweet and the patrons are a lot of fun. It’s mostly men with a few girls here and there. It can get really crowded and kinda hard to squiggle around, which can be a major bummer. Drinks are OK… Maybe 6.00 a drink or so? There’s a little backyard/​patio area with a bar and another bar/​sports on to the side of the main bar. I love that they have the biggest disco ball and there are mirrors everywhere!

Visiting from Houston this weekend and was a little disappointed with OCH. It has been long time since our last visit and we were really looking forward to checking it out again.
Saturday — we had a great time in the sports bar — I love this concept and it was a good experience.
While there we noticed that a «Super Sunday Drag Show» was scheduled for Sunday at 1030 and midnight. We spent all day Saturday planning on going back to take a disco nap, so that we could see the show.
We arrived at 930pm and still saw the show advertised on on the monitors all night. Finally at 1045pm, I stopped an employee and asked about the show only to be told that ‘there is no show tonight’ — VERY disappointed.
In the meantime, we witnessed a young person on the dance floor flanked by 2 older men (all ‘not quite right’) — having very provocative actions with each other. Within 10 minutes the trio had moved to the side with a 4^th man adding to their mix — all pushing their hands down the young man’s pants, etc — it was pretty disgusting and not what I want to see. As a community, there are enough stigmas to overcome — let’s not let the places were frequent become a substitute for the privacy of one’s home. Additionally, owners are needed to help curtail such actions to avoid the same perceptions.
Overall — not bad — not great. The advertising should have said that there was not going to be a show and the staff should have stopped the assault in motion. However, the drinks were good and the black lady bartender was absolutely delightful

Well being in town for just a night on a Monday, I wanted to grab a few drinks before calling it a nice. This was the first bar that I came across on 4^th. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot for a Monday night, but the crowd was decent.
The size of the bar is pretty big, in one room there were people playing poker. There was 3 different bars you could order from. At first I ordered a standard vodka water inside and the staff was very friendly, but when I went to the outside bar and ordered the same exact drink… My whole stomach flopped. I started to drink my drink, and at first I thought it was my straw that was like mildew, but I poured some of it into my other cup thinking the cup wasn’t washed. and Nope it was clearly the water or ice; either way it was downright disgusting and a friend who tried it couldn’t even finish his drink due to the bad taste we got from that.
After just having that awful taste, I decided it was time to leave this bar. Not sure if I’d return because that really makes me wonder how well sanitized anything is there.

Well I must say if you want to have a blast with some hot gay men and take selfies in the Mens Stahl (hahaha)…This is definitely the place to be. Have never been to a place with unisex bathrooms so this was a bit unusual for me, but the hot, fierce men in the restroom made me feel right at home! ;) Such a fun, relaxed, and friendly environment. The music was off the hook! Perfect size place to dance and not get hit in by creepy dudes!!! Lol First Gay bar I have been to that the men aren’t rude because I’m a straight female and who doesn’t like to be around guys dance have fun and not have to worry about them being a douche! Loved Oilcan Harry’s!!!

Great environment. Friendly bartender which was very easy in the eyes as well. Laid back local clientele lots of large flat screen tvs. Gay friendly :) if in the area of Austin Texas highly recommend visiting this bar. It was a Monday 4:30pm after work crowd. I’m sure it got better after the 7pm hour. Cute little cheers gay bar.

A bunch of friends and I used to enjoy coming here. However, after this past weekend, our perspective has changed. We were all on the dance floor when an obviously intoxicated douche bag got completely naked and was trying to have sex with some woman. Staff walked by and did NOTHING about it. Not to mention this occurred right in front of the DJ booth. Are you kidding me?!? Management needs to know that this CANNOT happen ever! Period. Stay away from this place.

I love this bar! I have been a few times now with both my gay and straight friends and each time we always have a great time!
This is the place to shake your tail feather and show the Austin Nightlife Scene what you’re working with whether it is a weekday or weekend! The house music here is definitely of the thumpa-​thumpa variety and you will be sweating in about 5mins flat, along with everyone else!
The dancefloor can get crazy crowded, so if you don’t like have sweaty gyrating strangers bumping and grinding on you, then go to the back patio (though it can get a little cray sometimes out there as well).
There are some great events here! The last one I went to was a wet tighty-​whitie contest, which boys and girls I can tell you, you will get your eye-candy’s dollars worth! There is sometimes a cover if there is an event going on, but most of the times I have been here, there was not.
The other thing I love about this place? I have never had to pay for a drink! Either one of my abfab gayboys in my abfab gaggle treats me or a kind and friendly stranger offers to buy my beverage, which makes for a super fun night out on the cheap for this gal! Thus, I have never interacted directly with any of the bartenders, but a few of my drink-​treating friends have told me they are either super nice or super divas… so I guess it is the luck of the draw.
I have heard they have a drag queen bingo every now and again here, but I have never been, though would love to see what it’s all about.
Either way, if you are looking for a fabulous time on 4^th, this is the place!
