Sonny Smith: 100 Records Drawings from PFFR June 5 — July 3, 2010 Opening Reception: Saturday, June 5, 7−10pm Great overall show and i recommend you put down your potato and bacon breakfast taco and run over there to see it. Sonny Smith gets an A+ for effort on this show. The back room — Recent drawings by New York art collective PFFR: Full of awesomeness. Steal some money from your roommate’s purse you little hipsters and buy one or more of these drawings. Just do it. They also accept credit cards… sort of. I would give this show 6 stars but the Okay Mountain staff refused to provide cooler weather.

Really happy to see Texas represented at Art Basel. There show might have had flaws, but overall, they did THE best show at Art Basel. I can’t wait to see their future shows. Go Tex.

Awesome little gallery tucked away on Navasota, off of Cesar Chavez. I’ve never been to any of their shows, but they consistently have great exhibits. Make sure to check out the room in the back where they have stuff for sale, including prints that are awesome and affordable. We nabbed a print for a band that we love for $ 3. Hello!

Eight young artists have gotten together to run this gallery in the creative heart of the East Side, in order to support and showcase new talent. Have been to two exhibitions here, and it’s an extremely non self-centered group of people excited about other people’s creative pursuits. They showcased 29 different artists last year, my favorites being the dazzling and disturbing work of Julie Peppito and the unique creations of Elaine Bradford, who’s knitted sweaters for objects like trees and car bumpers. Good mailing list to get on for events and openings(keg beer!). I’ve gotten jazzed both times I’ve been.
