I picked up some of their beans at the south Austin farmer’s market. I got the Torchy’s Tacos blend and it was great for espresso drinks. Dark, sweet, chocolaty, but not burnt at all. I haven’t been to to the store, but definitely recommend picking up some beans.

I’ve truly never considered myself a coffee drinker. I’m definitely not a coffee addict. I hardly even know how to brew a pot of coffee. BUT… I went to 24 Café one weekend with a girlfriend and ordered a cup of coffee. I was overcome by how DELICIOUS it was. Me, the girl who doesn’ t drink coffee on a regular basis… the SOCIAL coffee drinker… A few weeks later, I asked my husband if he wanted to hit that same café with me. The reason? Their Owl Tree coffee! I knew then that my life had changed. I had to have Owl Tree! My husband informed me that Progress Coffee served Owl Tree, so I stopped by for a cup on Mother’s Day. That’s when I learned that they sell the BEANS, too! Yippee! I bought some of the Peruvian blend. It’s amazingly delicious — even my mom, the coffee snob, thinks so! Now, we can have our Owl Tree anytime we’d like. :o) Ahhhh… They’re based in my neighborhood, which is awesome, too. I only wish some of my neighborhood coffee joints(Cherrywood, Clementine, Mi Madres, El Chilito) would serve their good stuff!

the brazil yellow bourbon blend is all i look forward to in the morning. it’s worth keeping around the house just for the smell, but in the flavor department i’m not sure i’ve ever sipped coffee quite like it. medium bodied with… yes… i do believe it’s a hint of bourbon. i may be prone to suggestive selling, but i like the idea waking up to the same taste i fell asleep to.
