I came here for a quick bite a few weeks back. The beef phở was pretty good. But the bathroom was absolutely the filthiest thing I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. All the toilets were backed up with toilet paper and there was an inch of toilet water on the floor. Every trash can was a mountain of paper towels. The sinks were disgusting. I skipped using the restroom even though I was 9 months pregnant. After exiting the restroom I noticed the entire restaurant was pretty filthy. The fish tanks are long overdue on a cleaning. The staff stacked their silverware and napkins on empty dining tables but instead of rolling, they just left it all there and were eating, talking, watching tv. Makes you wonder about that kitchen. I will never go back.

This used to be my go to place to get phở or a vermicelli bowl. My family and I had been coming here for years, and before this location we would go to the William Cannon or Oltorf location. They recently changed their menu, went up on the prices, and changed some of the recipes. Why change when everything was perfect before?! I’ve eaten their once since the change and have not gone back. I prefer Hai Ky on Oltorf much more!

Surprised there’s not more customers here. Beautiful patio, delicious fresh food. Love the Veggie Spring roll and Beef Phở. Tell everyone!

I’m not one to complain! It honestly takes a lot to make me write a review about a place and today was the day. The bowl of beef phở I had was pretty decent. The wings were HORRIBLE. I could tell those came right out of a microwave or a conventional oven. Their fish tank was nasty and unpleasant to look at. Dead orchids and other plants everywhere inside. I went to the bathroom, they didn’t even flush! Nor could I fit in the TINY stalls. The big one was LOCKED. The soap dispenser looked horrendous. I wasn’t sure if it was soap. The service? LOLWHATSERVICE? The dude was just bland! No hospitality whatsoever. On the receipt… It says«Please pay your server.» Idk if that meant leave a mandatory tip or just give him my card. :o lol When I got up to leave, I realized I was sitting on cilantro and a noodle. DISGUSTING! Never going back. Such a good looking place with great photos, and I had this crappy experience. So disappointed.

Why? First off, my mom recommended this place and I didn’t Unilocal it to begin with. Apparently on trip advisor it was recommended for its good food. We walked in awkwardly and we didn’t know whether to seat ourselves or wait. Tables were dirty and the fish tank is really gross, the tv is covered in water stains. When the one worker told us to sit at any table, I checked this place on Unilocal.Of course, two stars my luck. The good phở thaison my mom read about was a different location. The food is incredibly over priced, and it took Almost 45 minutes for 4 meals to come out. The appetizer we ordered came out maybe 2 minutes before our meal. My bun thit nuong with egg rolls was a big portion, but sadly the noodles were hard and the meat was super tough and cold :-(my parents said their phở was alright and my brothers egg noodle was decent. The service, food, and prices just scare me away. Never again!

Always a great quiet atmosphere. Wait staff always courtious. Food is almost always on point. Today i had the squid and shrimp vermicelli bowl. The squid was a touch overcooked. But otherwise fantastic

First I tried to order a beer, they were out of draft beer. Then I order a Kirin, they’re out. Ordered food, asked for no onions. The meal took 30 min to cook, then it has onions. They got me a new one pretty fast which was good, wish I could’ve eaten it. They sat us next to the bathrooms and started cleaning them with bleach while we were right there. I couldn’t eat with the smell of bleach up my nose. I couldn’t even eat my new meal they got me. Had to get it to go. Didn’t offer to discount at all. Such a bummer since I work so close!

Not authentic… phở has no flavor. It’s true, food is inconsistent and service is non existent.

I rarely bash places because everyone has an off night, even 5 star establishments. The only reason I rant is because I am worried about health safety. We got a pork spring roll, shrimp spring roll, phở and a charbroiled pork vermicelli bowl. The spring roll wrappers were really tough, the lettuce was old and the shrimp tasted weird. The phở was delicious but the meat tasted like it was going old. In the vermicelli bowl, there were a few pieces of pork that were bloody, tons of(taco shredded) iceberg lettuce and the noodles were a little hard. I am not a hard person to please but this was by far the worst Vietnamese restaurant I’ve found in Austin. Be safe if you venture in.

So I’ve came to this location several times and I have to say that I expected more out of this location. The sushi is mediocre, really sloppy and rushed, and has no freshness flavor. The vermicelli bowl with pork is okay, except they always char my pork too much to where it has that burnt taste. Then I got the pad Thai, and it disappointed me to see how meager of a serving I got. Not worth the money. I will not be returning here. Go to Phonatics, which is down the street. Also, I came here once around 9:30 and they had already closed down the kitchen even though the operation hours are till 10PM. Not professional in my opinion, since they work around their own hours.

Not a review I am happy to write. Upon arrival I was handed a menus and told to pick a seat. It took about 10 minutes for our server to come to check on us. Although she was polite, the service and experience were horrible. First came our sushi…(Be warned. Not something I would usually order from a place like this but a craving is a craving)… The fish seemed old and tasted funny. The ginger was pink(immitation). Then came the phở. First off I am not sure what the stink was but it smelt like the water was sitting in the bowls for days, the meat was chewy and the Vietnamese meatballs were the least but that. I could hardly even consume my broth, and had to stop myself from the smell made me want to gag upon the smell. Do yourself a favor and go to HEB, as you could probably save money and make it taste way better, if you were a blind cook with your hands cut off.

When I walked in I noticed the place wasn’t the cleanest. Fish tank was half full and the water was yellow. No fish inside. The tables had some remains of food on them and the booths had ripped near the bottoms. I got the steak and brisket Phở. I usually judge a good Phở by three things: 1. freshness of the sides(cilantro, been sprouts, etc) 2. Taste of broth 3. Quality of the meat in the phở. The sides were not fresh. Don’t know how else to say it. The broth was too fatty and wasn’t exactly clear. Everyone likes some salty fat in their phở but it was too much for me. Gave me an upset stomach. The steak and brisket was chewy and thick. The meat should be cut paper thin and should melt in your mouth when eating it, not resemble a piece of gum.

This place is the worst place anyone could ever eat at. Bad service, dirty restaurant, inconsistent food. Read the reviews it’s very true that this place really does suck fish balls!

This place is pretty yummy… can’t wait to back and try more dishes. The Pad Thai was okay… not was I was expecting… and the service isn’t too good, but overall a good little Phở place in south ATX.

Yummy food! I love the sushi rolls. The sauces and egg rolls are to perfection and the staff treat you like family. Vietnamese coffee is addictive but none after 7pm if you want to sleep that night.

The address information is incorrect of this restaurant. I have tried three times to correct it, but the app continually crashes on me when I correct the location point as well as manually enter the address. The actual address is: 161 West Slaughter Ln., suite L850, Austin Texas, 78748. All other contact information in Unilocal pertaining to this location appears correct. The food is very inexpensive and yet plentiful. I have been coming to this location for many years now and noticed I never left a review. My favorite dish is the grilled chicken over noodles and I usually have two fried egg rolls as an appetizer. They except visa and MasterCard, but they do not except American Express

I go there about once a month for a quick lunch. I am NOT a fan of the pad thai. It was prepared well it’s just not the pad thai that I am used to and I do not recommend it. What I do recommend are the bahn mi sandwiches. You cannot beat this, it’s a huge delicious traditional sandwich on a baguette with your choice of grilled meats. I always get the pork and it comes with sliced jalapenos, carrots and cucumbers with a spicy mayo for $ 5 you cannot beat it. They also have patio seating and quick service.

I’m giving this place a respectable 3 stars simply because years ago this was the first place I tried phở. The food is not bad but it could be better, especially when you have competition down the street that’s way better. I normally would get the beef vermacelli. Good flavor big serving no doubt and a side of chicken spring roll. Their peanut sauce I do love and reccomend. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed, it’s never full so you’ll always find a table and it very quiet actually so you’ll feel like your yelling if you talk normal. Prices aren’t bad but hey I don’t own it. If you still wana try hey don’t let me stop you as long as you invite hehe so go PHO it.
