I ordered the Lemon Grass Beef as per my waitress. It was very good! I don’t know Thai food for sure, but this was GOOD! Only reason it’s not a 5 star is the restaurant itself. Kinda musty and not fresh. Food=GREAT! Restaurant = Needs work.

I became violently ill after eating here. My dining experience was mediocre as the egg rolls were soggy and the meat tasted reheated. If you have ever tried to microwave leftover steak the next day then you know what I mean. The meat was chewy with a sour aftertaste and there was a little liquid smoke thrown in the bowl. Now I also realize that the meat wasn’t properly stored. I would not recommend this place unless I was really pissed off at someone… And even then I would suggest a bottle of Imodium for dessert.

This location is close to my house but has not matched the quality of the one on Anderson in both aesthetics and food. This is our go to place for local Phở(B2) and it has always been good. The vermicelli bowl and pad thai are better at the Anderson location. Prices are easy but there isn’t much on the menu for picky kids.

I dare say this: Best phở chay in town. For once, there is a hearty vegetable broth, with a simple assortment of thinly fried tofu, big straw mushrooms, onion, broccoli and snow peas with rice vermicelli noodles. The most enjoyable bowl in Austin, and honestly worth the drive down south.

This is my boyfriend and I’s casual date spot. We LOVE the Lemongrass Bahn Mi sandwiches, Phở and spring rolls. Lately we have been trying new entrees and for the most part, we have enjoyed everything. I would recommend sticking to pork, beef or chicken over seafood here but that’s just my personal preference. Great spot for quick and casual with a very inviting vibe! So thankful for a Phở spot down in South Austin. :)

I love coming here just for the grilled pork spring rolls and delicious eggrolls, the sauces are well prepared and its the perfect light fare to fill you up for a shopping outing.

The food is inexpensive and good. They also offer sushi at great prices however if you want sushi I recommend to call ahead because they don’t serve sushi all the time. The staff is always friendly!

One word: Insipid.(Note: this review exempts the Phở Thaison on Anderson Lane, which is fantastic due to some intra-family decisions on recipes and quality of supply). Peanut sauce for the soft shrimp spring roll: flavorless and runny. The«lemongrass» shrimp and calamari: flavorless with no lemongrass. We asked the waitress for some lemongrass seasoning and she came back with an onion — stir fry with the lemongrass flavor we wanted, but it should have been right the first time. Strange because it shares the same name with the Phở Thai Son on Anderson Lane which we enjoy very much. Is this the same owner? We moved to Austin a little over a year ago and this, along with the Phở Thai Son near UT campus, was one of the worst representations of one of the world’s most delightful cuisines we have ever experienced. UPDATE: So, the owner, Mr. Thaison is busy responding to a lot of negative reviews, including mine. That is appreciated, but he should work on the food and service to avoid these reviews in the first place. The issue was not just the flavorless lemongrass calamari that was missing all the lemongrass, but the insipid and runny peanut sauce for the shrimp rolls(waitress also got the first order wrong as she brought pork). Service was also bad. We were there Saturday 11⁄14 for an early dinner around 4. This meal was almost as bad as the restaurant with the same name near UT Campus. But the Phở Thaison on Anderson Lane is good.

Ok the first time I ate here, I wasn’t impressed. The second time, I was impressed that I actually enjoyed the food way more than the first time. Our waitress was super nice. This was a far cry from the first time I was here. I’m really glad they’re open super late. While there are better Vietnamese places in town, Ivan see myself becoming a regular here.

For a small local phở place late hours this is the place to go. Broth was decent noodles could use some improving. Spring rolls seemed like they had been sitting for a few hours and recooked. Overall though I was there for the phở to prevent getting sick. I would go back just due to how fast they were the portion size and location.

I love their phở! It’s so yummy! The only thing that I dislike is how long it takes to get food. The last time I went, it took over 30 minutes to get my to-go order.

Sunday when they first opened, and stopped in for a early lunch of Phở’ Was not impressed with the food. Nor the atmosphere. Granted we were one of the firsts for the day, so granted the place was not in in the groove. Ordered Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls. Egg rolls were good, but the Spring Rolls were bland, there was no taste in the meat(pork and other one chicken)… I have to say that between the chicken and the pork, they tasted the same… We had the Steak and Brisket Phở, and that was ok… if you are just getting the Phở’, stick with the basics. Also had the egg noodle seafood combination bowl(#54) … wasn’t the best egg noodle soup I had… would i go there again, not really. It was not run well, the kitchen was blaring music that did not fit the atmosphere(nothing wrong with tejano, but it was pretty loud)… and add that the food was mediocre, it just didn’t sit well with us. Thanks for reading

I can say that I gave it 2 stars because it filled my phở craving somewhat and it was close. The reason I only gave it 2 stars was because the service was poor. The waitresses were not paying attention to our orders and got out orders wrong. The soup/broth was on the salty side. Not the greatest phở place.

I got the phở and it was pretty good. Average phở place. The service wasn’t that great. Had a waitress that wasn’t focused and got my order wrong. They weren’t very organized.

Worst service ever. Waitress messed up our orders. When I went up to pay I heard her talking bad about her coworkers to another coworker. I would not recommend this place.

Is it the best phở in town? No is the answer but for the time and money it’s the best. Consistent quality and generous portions make this food easy and fast. You know that feeling you have as you think to yourself«waaaaa, I don’t want to cook tonight» Go here and you don’t have to.

I really REALLY want to love this place. I have lived in this area for years and I want a regular phở joint. It is close to my house and I LOVE their PC phở. I am not a meat eater and it is very tasty and fresh-ish. However, I have had several bad experiences here and tonight was the last time I will ever be giving them business. In the past, I used to try to enjoy my own company and go for lunch and have soup and sake. Different experiences each time. Once, my «hot» sake was served to me ice cold. Another time, my server seemed very rushed and gave me my bill before I got half way through my meal/drinks. Another time, I can’t find my server. Here is the real issue though. TOGOORDERS. Tonight, I order my usual PC. Everything is fine with my choice. My partner ordered the V3 + steamed rice(I know this because I placed the phone call) — The description of this dish on the menu includes: Broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, onions and crispy tofu in buddah delight sauce. Welp, I get home and NORICE + NOTOFU. Awesome. This is super frustrating since in the past we have had bad luck with to go orders also. Things like ordering a vegetarian dish, instead getting pork, calling to tell them, and no real solution given. I knew better then to leave and not check my order tonight, but I guess that part is my own fault. I simply just cannot go back. I feel like as a business, all of this behavior is careless and lazy. It’s been a terrible run. See ya later Phở Thaison.

Terrible service, piece of unedibles on the plate, table wiped with mildewy rag, mediocre food. My lunch at Phở Thaison on William Cannon had it all. We came into a very crowded restaurant(after-church Sunday lunch crowd), and there was nobody greeting customers. So, we walked over to the only available table(which still needed to be bussed) and waited for what seemed like 5 minutes for someone to clean it and bring us menus. Out came what seemed the only wait person to wipe the table with a very smelly rag. Not a good start at all. The pearl drinks were icy. My spring roll had a piece of rock in it and I almost broke a tooth. The banh mi sandwiches were terrible: way too saucy, there was no mayo/butter on them, the bread was too soft, and the veggie toppings were sparse at best. They skipped the jalapenos on my 13-year-old’s sandwich, very much NOT per her request, and believe me, if there was ever a wrongful jalapeño omission, this was it. Finally, because there was only one wait person, it took forever to get our bill. While we were waiting for that, we had to sit through the mildew smell as the table next to ours was wiped. Yeah… not going back.

South Park Meadows has like 3 – 4 phở places and this is by far the best one. Their food is always pretty good and seems relatively fresh. It’s pretty inexpensive as well. The only downsides to this location is the restaurant itself is a bit run down and they are often under staffed.

I think this is the location I was at; I see there are several different ones and its been a few years since I was there. I wasn’t on Unilocal then, but took pics of my excellent, impressive meal that I finally wanted to get off of my phone’s camera roll. Whichever location I was at, I remember sitting at an outside table. They possibly have THEBESTMARINATEDPORK I’ve ever had! Everything was GREAT! The phở and the marinated pork with vermicelli salad combo with shrimp and a spring roll was OUTSTANDING! I wish I was in Austin more often so I could eat here! They have very high standards! The service was good as well.
